I want to leave a huge thank you for XTD Driving Instructors and especially Barry. Even though Barry unfortunately didn’t have any availability to take on our son, he still took an incredible amount of time to help us — and that speaks volumes about the kind of person and instructor he is. Barry was unbelievably generous with his time, knowledge, and reassurance. He spoke to me at length over the phone, explaining the testing process, calming my nerves as a parent, and genuinely wanting the best outcome for our son. He went out of his way to recommend Jamie Driver Training, which turned out to be exactly the right fit. What really stood out was that Barry continued to check in and even made himself available on the day of the test. That level of care, especially when he wasn’t even the instructor taking the lesson, is rare. He could have simply said he was fully booked and moved on — but instead, he made sure we were supported every step of the way. As a parent, that kindness, guidance, and genuine concern meant more than I can say. If Barry ever has availability, you’d be incredibly lucky to learn from him. Barry is a brilliant , honest and clear instructor. His unfailing patience ,encouragement , knowledge , experience and methodical approach to teaching which enabled me to build up my skills and confidence to pass my driving test first time and drive safely, I couldn't have done it without his help. I enjoyed every lesson learning with Barry, his instructions were straightforward and if I ever made a mistake he reassured me as what I had to do, never making me feel stressed, and making me a confident driver. I tried learning how to drive a few times (with a few different instructors!) but always got too nervous to see it through. I am an extremely anxious person. When I was 28 and started having to catch buses for client meetings...I decided it was 'now or never'. Not the most professional look! I contacted Barry and Lisa to arrange a trial lesson. There was absolutely no pressure to re-book after my first lesson. I went on and booked a further 20 hours with Barry and he was the most patient and helpful teacher I have ever had. I still got very nervous and there were many tears, especially in the first few lessons - but Barry was always supportive and understanding. He pushed me when I needed pushing and let me wuss out and go home for a cry when it got too much. I got my P Plates first go and I am so proud of myself that I FINALLY did it! Read Less

When learning I had Barry who was absolutely wonderful at teaching me the things I needed to know, he was very calm and when faced with a possibly bad situation took control in an efficient manner.
