If you fail your first WRITTEN test attempt, you get a single retest for free. Again, very fair, so if that happens, you can go home and study your tail off and come pass it in a day or two for no extra charge.My experience:Moved back here after being out of state for a few years, and accidentally let my out-of-state license lapse by a week and a half.To get my WA license, I now had to take both the written test and the actual skills test in the car.Some of the yelp reviews I read about this place were pretty brutal, but when I read them closely, they had the tone of a special snowflake beginner driver that maybe didn't do so well on their test, (eyeroll). (No offense, just trying to find the best place :-)The woman who answered the phone was clearly very busy (had to put me on hold), but was polite and responsive. (I actually don't mind if I call someplace, especially local, and they are very busy - I usually take that to mean they are doing good business, so they're possibly doing something right. But hey - my opinion only)I indicated to her that I was trying to knock these tests out ASAP, and she took the time to clearly explain my options in the manner of "If you are comfortable taking the written test now, you can come in at this time, then you could take the skills test at this time, but if you need to spend a day refreshing on the written test, you can take it on this other day, and come in for the skills test on the weekend..."(How bad am I at writing dialogue? lol)I took option B, because I haven't taken a driving test in many years.Note: You can find many good FREE practice tests online to get you dialed in.Result: passed the written, past the skills test.Helpful hint: for those re-testers who already know how to parallel park, the test is really not that hard - but try to avoid touching the curb with your tire, even slightly. :-) Read Less

Scammers!!! Be aware!!!!! I went there to take the driving test. Charged 50 dollars. The guy taking the test made a few racist comments and then kept talking the entire test and distracting me. I have been driving for more than 10 years with no accidents! He FAILED me in the test and out rightly LIED about things I did or didn't do! My experience at Centerline Driving School was great! I learned all the basic things about how to drive, but I had so much fun doing it. The instructors here are great and I feel very confident about my driving, but still know how to be responsible while driving! Read Less

The lady answering the phone calls hung up on me before I had a chance to ask her another question. I sadly go here and I like all the instructors but the lady at the counter hates her job she said it in front of me when I was waiting for my 3rd drive to start I hope they get someone else soon. I have to give 5 stars for going above and beyond! We had dropped in yesterday 10/17/16, only to find out drop in hours were over. Instead of making us come back another day, they made every effort to accommodate us. We were able to take the written test. Then, they had an unexpected cancellation, and offered us the appointment! After reading the reviews on Yelp regarding the office staff, I was very hesitant (AKA fearful) to ever speak  with the office personnel.  However, my interactions have been very pleasant!  The first time I met with someone in the office it was the owner's wife (although I did not know at the time) and she looked a bit disheveled, but she was very kind and never once made me feel like a bother (even though we were in at the last minute of the last hour before a holiday weekend).  The next time I met with someone in the office, it was the "official" office person and she must be the one everyone talks about, as she was very flustered and frustrated at the time.  My advice is: give her a break.  We've all had to deal with more than we can handle at times and she must be super capable at doing what they need or else she wouldn't be in this position.   Apart from the office staff (who does NOT teach your student or do the drives with them), Centerline Driving offers really top notch in instruction.  I attended every one of my daughter's drives and was so pleasantly impressed with the care and concern and level of attentiveness that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this school to anyone else in the future. To no surprise there are already negative reviews posted in regards to their front office. I couldn't agree more with all of them. Over the course of my child's classes I called in several times during business hours. Each and every time it went straight to voicemail and either never got a call back or wouldn't hear from them for several days. Unfortunately, I had to resort to just dropping in where I realized a larger level of dissatisfaction and incompetence. They are clearly disorganized, possibly understaffed,  and I too have witnessed rude behavior at times. As for the behind-the-wheel instructors I found that to be a positive experience. They even allow parents to join which I found very helpful to keep a level of consistent learning. All were patient, communicated effectively, and provided helpful instruction. Each drive felt like a learning experience and not an exam. They too have to deal with young clients in a stressful environment, but seem to pull it off. Read Less

The teachers are great, but the lady in the front office always has a bad attitude. She belittles everyone that i have seen her correspond with. Have you ever met a person who feels the need to be rude to younger people, just because they are old? Well, if you haven't now you know where to find one. She is so unorganized, cluttered, and horrible at customer service (yes, i paid for a service and expect good service). I am pretty sure she has to be family of the owner, otherwise she wouldnt have a job. I regret going with centerline due to having to deal with this lady! She takes rude to a whole new level. 7/9/15 Chris –Just want to let you know how much we appreciate you and all of your instructors. I attended all but two of the classes presented and I even learned some new things. Everything was very informative and her driving lessons were helpful, too. She did her last drive today and got 100%!!! Now, to me, that says a lot about what you and your staff has taught her. I'm not sure where Paula B is coming from. Centerline staff is not only overly friendly, but very accommodating to your needs as a parent with a child in drivers ed, but also your children's previous commitments. They remain calm during drives which in turn really relaxes the student. When my son kept making the same mistake the instructor, Mike, observed how the frustration was making matters worse, so he calmly made my son take a minute to compose himself and then reminded him it was ok to make mistakes because that is how he was going to learn. Not only did my son graduate from the class far more informed than myself or my husband could have had him, he actually taught us a few things we didn't know. Definitely a repeat customerMe experience with Centerline Driving School was positive. Instructors and staff are very professional. They take the subject very seriously. They teach these young people that what they are about to embark on is a life-long responsibility. I think they are effectively able to communicate this message to them. You are trusting your children to drive a vehicle, so why wouldn't you be willing to pay for the best training? How do you put a price on your child's safety? Every time I've visited the office, they have been unorganized. Sometimes they are friendly and sometimes they are distracted and abrupt.  If you're there during a "shift change" you might as well just take a seat and wait for them to figure everything out. In one case, the woman in the office was downright rude when I asked her a simple question. She was in a lecturing mood and I had to put up with her rant. Bad timing on my part We were told that if we were referred by someone, that person would receive a gift card as a Thank You.  When we filled out the paperwork for this, we were told they are "behind" in mailing these out. So, I'm not sure if our referral ever received the promised gift cardSome of their classroom/drive instructors are knowledgeable and helpful. Others are not as engaged, so are not very good.  They try to make sure you don't have a choice in actual "behind the wheel" driving instructors.  I was told "all our instructors are great".  But, we didn't share that opinion.  They have one fantastic instructor that everyone wants.  It's why people come to the school.  By not acknowledging that and working with the less popular teachers to improve, they are really missing an opportunity to improve their business overall. I've heard mixed reviews about many of the driving schools, so I'm not sure how Centerline stacks up.  But, they definitely have room for improvement in their customer interactions and general organization.
