I Just completed my training at DRM. I have to say the thought of driving a truck was exciting to me and scary as hell at the same time. Dave ,the instructor, Made learning to drive a truck a fun experience. He has a small class size and spends a lot of one on one time with his students. I was having problems with learning some of the backing exercises and he asked if I would like to stay after class and work on my problem areas. I have to tell you I would not have passed the test without his extra attention. He gave up hours on the weekend so the students could some extra drive time. I feel like he was trying to train professional drivers, not just teaching us to pass the test. I have talked to students of other training schools and found most of them just learned to do the three backing exercises that the test covers. Dave showed us several other methods of backing as well as how to set up in difficult areas.
During my selection process of driving schools, I visited several other schools and did not see the same level of pride shown by Dave at DRM. Anyone looking into going to schools to learn to drive truck should take a serious look at DRM. Read Less
