Thumbs up all around, definitely the best choice for learning to drive. unfortunately, because they are good at following the rules and teaching you the rules through a very good curriculum and are master testers, many people fail because they are so good at not looking over anything. many people may feel slighted or tricked because they had to pay more money and they weren't good enough to pass the test. as a result, many people decide to write a one-star review that discredits everything they've worked for. I have had two daughters complete drivers Ed at 911 N Tacoma location. I liked how all the instructors were retired police officers. Being able to take the written and knowledge test at this location was so much more convenient than waiting at the DMV! Bob was the instructor for both my kids and he was fabulous. At the dinner table or in the car driving, one of Bob's stories always comes up. The kids really enjoyed the stories and it helped them to remember certain skills while driving. Con you out of your money. One of the people who did a drive test with me was totally unfair and TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. When I was there I saw alot of people she failed before me for no good reason at all. DO NOT GO TO THIS DRIVING SCHOOL. THEY DON'T HELP YOU WHAT SO EVER. ALL THEY WANT IS MONEY. You're better off taking the drive test at the DMV where the instructors are more qualified and fair. The instructors at 911 driving school don't teach anything helpful and they are plain unprofessional. During class, sometimes the instructor would bad mouth his customers behind their backs. In addition to that, he makes the classroom INSANELY COLD as he believes that it will make the students stay awake. BUT MOST OF THEM FALL ASLEEP ANYWAYS. All in all, I do not recommend this driving school. It's a waste of time and money. You're practically better off teaching yourself. Read Less

Dennis, who works here, gave my daughter her driver's test (behind the wheel, not written). He was fantastic — empathetic and very fair in his scoring. He understood this was a big moment for her and took the time to treat her like a person, not just one more teenager behind the wheel. Getting a driver's license in Washington is not an easy process and I highly recommend Dennis and 911 Driving School in Tacoma! First off, heads up to Dennis John the instructor, the best i ever seen. It's been 13 years since i drove, i had passed my written test with flying colors so i thought the driving test would be a shoe in. I failed the first one in another school, the second one i did with Dennis and failed, then i decided to have a lesson for 1 hour prior my third test. It was the lesson of a lifetime, he covered all angles possibly. Extremely skilled, patient, humble, old school.
