Great School. Long history of excellence in the community. I am beyond satisfied with the service I received. All of the working staff was very friendly. I did not feel like I was being treated differently. Safety First Driving School worked with my schedule to make sure I get my 12 hours package done in the 3 weeks period of time that I had left while simultaneously preparing me for my driving test and I could not be more satisfied with the service. I will definitely will have my little sister and brother to take their teen course over the summer! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THIS TERRIBLE SERVICE. Took my money and won't schedule lessons with me. I signed up for the pick up lessons and now they are trying to make me come to them saying that they won't pick me up, even though that is the service that I paid for. I emailed and they never responded and I called and the person working was rude and did not answer any of my questions and was trying to get me off of the phone. Their student website sucks too so when you try to schedule lessons it won't let you and when you call they won't schedule lessons with you either. I would've given this 0 stars if I could. I highly recommend this driving school. I took the 8 lesson package with the test. The instructors were always polite and gave clear instructions. They have weekend classes in the downtown area which are super convenient. Their online scheduling system had some issues but they always called to confirm the classes and ensured that I wasn't inconvenienced in any way. Terrible. My daughter went here for her driving test. The instructor, Brook, was horrible. His reactions and guidance during the test were completely off-putting and abrasive, making an already nervous kid completely on edge. First he complained in a very confrontational way that she should not have waited for a car and she had time to turn left in front of car. Then he complained that she shouldn't have turned left. Then when a car in front of her turned into the turn lane but was halfway in and half in her lane he complained s he didn't go into the right lane to go around him- for a turn he did not give her enough notice for. I think he was looking at his phone. He failed her for not meeting his personal driving preferences. His behavior was confrontational and mean, and not help at all. Maybe he was mad because she had not taken her driving classes there, but this guy obviously should not be working with kids, as I've heard other reports of this kind of behavior.After standing outside for over ten minutes, he came out and and she could retake the test for free, so he knew he was in the wrong, but I don't forgive jerk strangers who make my kid cry, She is not the supersensitive type either, and we are NOT coddling parents. This guy may manage a business well, but has no place in the field. Avoid. Read Less

I loved my training from here. My instructor was intelligent, experienced and patient. I passed the test easily with no other practice needed. Having the ability to take the test from the school you train at is very reassuring and convenient. I didn't have a car yet and I really needed that option! Also, I chose the pick up and drop off option, from my school, Shoreline Community College. All in all, great experience and support. The staff is polite, kind and professional. Highly recommend! Didn't know driving till I took classes @ Safety First Driving School Shoreline branch based on a friend's recommendation. I took the 8 class package for beginners. My instructor Dawit Ashinay was super fun to hangout with and he taught driving from the basics insisting on all the rules and safety precautions - first class was in a parking lot (where we worked on steering wheel control), second and third classes in not so crowded residential areas near Shoreline (where we worked on left and right turns), subsequent classes in busier roads (Aurora Avenue and other routes from Downtown Seattle to Shoreline). The staff were quite helpful in scheduling my classes during weekdays( I work and live in Downtown Seattle). I often took the early morning class or late evening class so that I could drive to/from Downtown Seattle with the instructor (he lived near Downtown). Passed the driving test in mid 2016 and in the one year since then , I have driven nearly 5000 miles around the country (Seattle - Portland, LA - SF, LA - Grand Canyon - Vegas, Boston - NYC - DC, Virginia, NYC - Buffalo, SLC - Yellowstone etc etc :) ). You can see that I have become quite confident in driving anywhere. :) Already 5 of my friends have been there to take up driving classes based on my recommendation (and with Dawit as instructor) . Felt like my instructor was just trying to waste time. He was on the phone for a good quarter of lesson and simply had me drive in circles while he talked to his friend and I failed forTWO TIMES!!!Would not recommend this place. Check out another driving school.I went to Street Law Driving School and I passed my driving test FIRST TIME!you'll definitely learn more.That in itself will save you money,you won't need to take as many classes to learn how to drive. I got my training a few months back at this driving school and I am very satisfied with it. My instructor, Carmen was very patient with me and gave me enough time to gain confidence in my driving skills. I took the lessons and gave the exam when I was in the second trimester of my pregnancy and yet, I felt very comfortable taking the driving lessons and appearing for the test and I think that says something. Would give this school a higher rating if possible! Staff members were friendly and scheduling was a breeze. I signed up for the 12 hours package.  I went from someone who had an extreme fear of driving to being able to drive confidently and quite competently in less than 3 weeks. I have to give my instructor Carmen all the credit. She made me feel comfortable behind the wheel from the gecko and I was able to relax and actually enjoy driving. Five stars for the school and specially my instructor Dawit. He was so amazing and simplified in delivering the lessons that I never found any difficulty in learning even though I was driving for the first time. From the first class onwards we were more of friends that made the whole process really simple and easy to grasp. He is both focused towards making you learn and avoids boredom to creep in that according to me is an essential part of learning. I applied the parallel parking tricks that he taught me during the course in the test and got through it pretty easily. From an immature beginner to a professional driver, truly an overwhelming experience that got extremely simplified by his teachings. Many thanks to the school that I will have my license finally. Five stars for the lessons and the flexibility of being able to take them from the downtown location. I had most of my lessons with Michael, who was chill, patient, and managed to make me feel really at ease as a new driver. I progressed steadily with each lesson and the material covered. I got my license just a couple of weeks after my lessons ended. I think their scheduling system could use some improvement. However, there was one instance where I had confirmed that I wasn't available but they still had the lesson on their schedule and charged me for it. They did eventually refund the lesson to me, but not without a lot of insistence on my part. Read Less

Did the $700 driving lesson package. Overall I am satisfied with the experience. Went from never driving to feeling confident and passing the tests. Pretty easy to get ahold of them to schedule appointments. There were a couple of times the driving instructor was 5-15 minutes late, but I was able to add that lost lesson time to the next appointment. A lot of the driving instructors don't have the clearest English speaking skills, but they are still very effective instructors in explaining things. Read Less

I did both my lessons (4 of the 1.5 hour "downtown driving" lessons) and my drive test with Safety First, and I couldn't be happier.I am an adult (over 30) driver who has never been comfortable driving, but it's become necessary and so I found this school on Yelp. After getting my permit, I took lessons with Michael and Berhanu. They were punctual, excellent instructors - they never shouted or talked down to me, they explained the driving process in easy steps, and I left every lesson feeling like I was becoming a better driver.After my last lesson I was feeling a little unsure, and thought I might take more lessons, but my instructor told me I should try taking the driving test first and taking more lessons if I didn't pass. I appreciated his confidence in my abilities and scheduled my driving test.Brook did my driving test, and it was much the same level of professionalism that I had come to expect from this company. I passed my test, and afterwards Brook walked me through the areas that he felt I needed to work on (which I really appreciated).Overall a great company, they have evening and weekend lessons and are very helpful when scheduling. I had a great experience here! I've been in the US for close to 10 years now and never got around to (always making excuses) getting my US driver's license. I  purchased a 4 lesson (6 hour) package, which was plenty to get me to pass the driving test. I would love to come back for 3 more lessons to perfect my parallel parking as well as get more confidence on the freeway. Getting a license here is a no hassle experience and both the instructor and the owner (Brooks) were extremely nice, patient and accommodating. I still don't feel confident to drive on my own. However, I had anxiety driving in general, which totally went away. After taking 4 lessons, I am now able to drive around without issues and get on the freeway. I don't feel any anxiety in general and feel in control of the situation. Highly recommend Safety First for new/foreign adult drivers. Read Less

This is the worst driving school ever.I made an appointment on Monday but I was late. Then I came to make appointment on Thursday for driving test for $50. The next day I cancel the appointment, but I get charged $35 because I was late on Monday. This place is a fraud, the manager is impolite. He is really cool person and he made the lessons really simple and enjoyable  with his learning tips. All the staff here is really nice and this is the best driving school for beginners of any age.. I just want to take the time to thank you guys again for making it possibility for me to achieve my greatest accomplishment. Getting my license was a bumpy ride for me until I found Safety First Driving School, for those of you guys who are getting your first license I recommend u guys to this driver Ed, the class atmosphere was relaxing and fun, and the instructors were very patient and informative. They have great staff and honestly I really don't know what the other people are talking about, my experience was  very pleasant.
