I chose to take 3 lessons with Steve here because I saw all the good reviews and how people highly recommend him. His teaching were very helpful and his tips, however, he could improve on listening to his students more than just talking. He would not let me finish speaking and would interrupt me while I'm talking. He literally bragged about how he got so many good reviews on yelp, I mean I don't know. I thought that was unprofessional. I felt like the third lesson we had was a total rush and expected me to know ALL the steps and it really made me frustrated in my driving. He told my dad that I was really forgetful in my driving and that made me pissed because EXCUSE ME I MAKE MISTAKES HOW AM  I SUPPOSE REMEMBER ALL OF THIS IN A WEEK. IT'S NOT LIKE IM GOING TO BE A PERFECT DRIVER AFTER 3 LESSONS DUDE. Also hello? If you're going to tell me what I'm doing something wrong like I'm "forgetful" TELL THAT TO MY FACE. IM THE MAIN PERSON HERE. Instead, he spoke Chinese to the translator then he translated back to my dad right in front of me. Dude? you spoke English to my dad before, he knows how to speak English. I had my lessons on May 7th, 13th, 14th. It would have been better if I had my lessons spaced out every 2 weeks so I had more time to practice the fucking steps cause I have a damn life. He also bragged twice to  me and again to my dad how he taught 3 lessons to a Filipino lady who's been learning for 50-60 years and bam, she got her license. Okay Steve, everyone is different. I really had high hopes for him. If he can't handle a complete beginner like me then he's not worth your time. Read Less

This place is awesome. I knew how to drive but let my out of state licence lapse.  He has packages available for 1 hour or training and then the test. It turns out that refresher course was exactly what I needed. I passed the test and am now super happy. Read Less

No nuh uh. It looks cheap at first and then if you want to rent the car for the test its gonna cost $90 and other stuff. And the practice car, they have the whole equipment on the instructor side, even the steering wheel, they litterally drive for you. Read Less

Horrible experience!I tried these guys because of those reviews on Yelp and seems like I made a wrong decision. After each lesson, the instructor kept telling her that she's doing a good job without any important criticism. You're supposed to learn from those! And then on the driving day, they failed her. And now, she will have to pay $60 to take the driving test. Come on, we spend hundred of dollars to have you guys teach us and now, you cannot even at least give a discount for a re-take? Read Less

I did a driving test today and everything was okay until I actually started my drive Mr Wong was my instructor and I could barely understand his broken English. Once the drive was complete mr Wong failed me for things I was certain I had did correctly. Maybe it was because I couldn't understand a lot of things he was saying. So I scored a 70. He told me I was a great driver but not up to his standards. I let him know the car I was using was also a really big car and the steering was very stiff. He was very harsh when scoring me. And I probably won't ever come back unless with another instructor that speaks full English. Very disappointed after reading all the great reviews I should've booked with Steve instead !!!!! Mr.Steve Wong in my opinion is the best person to take your driving lessons. He is patient, professional and a good teacher.Emerald City Driving School is highly recommended. Emerald City Driving School is an amazing company!! I took all of my lessons with Steve who is the best teacher ever!! He is very knowledgeable, patient, flexible, considerate and focused. He has a great way of controlling the lesson to ensure both his and the student's safety while allowing the student to learn and make mistakes that he will quickly help you correct. I really really recommend this driving school for new learner about driving lessons, even knowledge test and driving test. Steve Wong is a wonderful coach for teaching me driving skill as well as good habits during driving. It's really helpful and important for me to become a good and safe driver in the future. Steve is a great instructor and after two years of me having a permit and being too scared to drive (lol), I can now drive confidently in more than just an empty parking lot.
