My parents recommended that I come here because "everyone has been taught" by the older male instructor. I had him for a couple lessons (which are very expensive) and it was mostly him controlling the car and just telling me to drive straight. It was extremely impersonal and honestly didn't feel like a lesson. Then I had his daughter who was a bit more considerate with teaching, but still charged a ridiculous amount for lessons. I took the knowledge test there and the staff mocked me openly and honestly couldn't care less because they know they'll still make money and keep their job at the end of the day. The lady who monitored the driving test was straightforward and okay and I passed with no false remarks. It's just an incredibly frustrating and embarrassing experience coming to the Beacon Hill Driving School knowing the rude workers profit off the Asian American community and otherwise here. If I could put 0 stars I definitely would do it!I have visited this office 3 times,and every time I didn't get any service.Last visit was EXTREMELY HORRIBLE...pee smell like in uncleaned public restroom!I asked a lady if something wrong with a toilet,she negatively shaked her head,and at that moment I see an old Asian lady with her caregiver walking behind office lady's back directly to the next room door!I think they  have too many businesses in one too small office..so as for me and all my friends.. this driving school doesn't give any knowledge but takes care more about money. I needed to switch my CA Drivers License to a WA License. I thought I had to take the written exam so I made an appt. and took the exam without studying, I recently took the CA test and got 100% correct. First of all I didn't know all I had to do was go to the DOL and swap my License without a written test needed. I went to another testing place because I didn't want to go back to Beacon due to the fact it was so nosy at the front desk with the Employee talking so loud it distracted me when taking the test. Also the questions were strange. I'm sure if they make up the questions themselves but so many had 2 correct answers to select. Also, They were kinda rude! Lastly, I told the DOL about them and they said they should have never charged me and they should have just told me to go to the DOL to swap my CA license to a WA Licenses.  So they ripped me off of $35. Shady business, stay away. I went here since it seemed convenient, do not make the same mistake I did and avoid this place like the plague. When I walked in the lady at the front desk was writing fake reviews on Yelp one after the other. They made me wait 40 minutes and then charged an exorbitant amount. The staff are very rude. The ladies that do the driving test are extremely rude, THEY should be the ones testing, BUT FOR COSTUMER SERVICE because clearly they are not aware that they are getting paid to SERVE a service, not the other way around. Read Less

I have driving anxiety and it kept me from completing my road test for years. I signed up for a lesson with May and was determined to finally get my license. She was really understanding and an amazing instructor. She told me what I needed to work on in order to pass and gave me useful tips with a friendly, calm demeanor. I came to take my drivers test here and the woman who administered my test had an extremely unpleasant attitude. She seemed irritated to be in the car with me. If you can, avoid that experience altogether and go anywhere else for your testing. Read Less

They are not credible.when you finish you exam ,they can give you any score they like even when you are really doing a good test. You can't say anything for this.I saw a man pay $100 for a $30 permit with no change and soon he leaves with what he wants.Bad experience. Read Less

they charge an incredible amount of money if you decide to use their car for driving test $150. i went here to take my knowledge test and the management didn't seem like they work well ( i think the reviews says it all) do yourself a favor and find a good driving school like swerve, 911, street law.Read Less

They were super patient, courteous, and able to get me an appointment the next day at 10am, unlike the first two driving schools I called.When I arrived they gave me and the other two ladies taking the written test, a WA state driving book; which had just been updated two weeks ago (I had picked up the old one 3 weeks prior to study!). They told us to take as long as we needed to study, and pointed to a sign they had on the wall that stated the new stuff added to the new WA driving book (all had questions on the test!) They were super fast, and tried to get me in as quick as possible, as well as help those around me whose first language wasn't English.I PASSED!!! I have been driving for a decade without a single accident. I have driven in Istanbul, one of the worst traffics in the world, without A.SINGLE.INCIDENT/ACCIDENT. I need to get a United States since I am living in the West Coast now. Unfortunately for me, I came to this place for a driver's test. They failed me because I was driving with one hand (I wasn't) and for not checking incoming traffic while turning and changing lanes (I was checking it). BEWARE - SUPER SHADY ESTABLISHMENT. Was looking for a place to take my driving test. Called and asked these guys how much they charge to let me use their car for the test and they told me $90. Called back again in 5 min and they told me $150. The lady swore they not flexible on the price. Defensive Driving School of Seattle charges $10 ($80 for written test + driving test + using their car). Go there, it's better and you'll get the peace of mind of not supporting a shady establishment like this one. Read Less

The price is higher than other driving school, especially when you need to rent their car to take an exam. However, the service was just so so-- it depends on which instructor you get. If you have to come here because of the location or language or other reasons, choose instructor May. After a few classes I transferred to another driving school. Read Less

Even if you disagree with what i'm about to say.  Goto Swerve or FirstPass.  You'll save A LOT of money.These guys want 150 for a driving test in their car.  Seriously?  FirstPass is 50.  Done.  Guy is super cool, easily passed and left with an extra 100 in my pocket.  Practice driving tests are also overpriced.  They also charge a fee for using a credit card.  I felt like I had an open tab at a bar and everyone was drinking on my tab.  The problems are more wide spread than just the money.  Staff arrives late for appointments.  Waited over an hour for driver to show up.  Some staff seems nice, but some seem like their always having a bad day.Save your money, drink more beer or whatever beverage excites you and deal with people with smiles on their faces. Ask for Joanne! She is patient, calm and experienced and she pushes you but not too much,  just an overall excellent instructor. She is the reason I passed my driving test and was able to buy a car and start driving. Also, the area around Beacon Hill Driving School is perfect for practicing. Read Less

I went there just to take my driving test. I'm 17 and have had my permit for about a year. After reading the other Yelp reviews, I was kind of concerned that a) the instructor would not speak good English, and b) the instructor would be rude and impatient. When I first walked in, the place lived up to my expectations. The lady at the desk spoke with a heavy accent and was very curt and impatient; she even told me to "sit down, you wait" when I was standing by the window in the waiting area.The test administrator however was much more talkative and friendly, but she did insist on me moving my car to across the street. I had originally parked around the corner on one end of the block (parking in front of the school is very limited, and you must cross a busy street because there are no nearby crosswalks).Once the test began, I was a lot more at ease because the instructor, May, stated clearly what she wanted me to do and gave me enough time to react. She was friendly and went over my test results in a constructive way once I finished.I did make some minor mistakes, which lost me quite a few points, but I still passed.(e.g., parallel parking too close to the car in front of me, not checking the blind spot before pulling away from the curb, pulling forward slightly before backing up)Contrary to what some believe, Beacon Hill Driving School does not "go easier" on you than other driving schools. But if you're a good driver, you shouldn't have trouble passing the test. Read Less
