I just wanted to send some good karma to EXCELeration Driving School in Bellingham for squeezing my daughter in as a walk-in for her driving tests today (07/21/2017). We had originally planned to take the test at Nelson Driving School because that's where my daughter took driver's ed last year. Unfortunately, Nelson was unexpectedly closed for an employee training. So, we decided to try our luck at EXCELeration. We arrived around 1 pm but didn't know that the Friday early closing time was 1:30 pm. However, the instructor on duty let her take her tests anyway and was very kind to stay a few extra minutes for us. My daughter also reported that he was a competent and fair tester. My daughter had been really dreading her driving tests, so it was wonderful to still be able to get them done today :) Thanks again! Read Less

I came to Rich at Exceleration Driving School in Lynden because I was terrified of getting behind the wheel. I actually already had my driver's license from New York State (I'm 26 by the way), but never needed to get behind the wheel there since the public transit was so efficient. Long story short, I had my license, never used it and as a result, I developed an irrational and crippling fear of driving that was preventing me from living the independent lifestyle I wanted. Rich is an exceptional instructor; he is calm and clear in his instructions. I had tried learning with family members before but their nervous energy really stressed me out. Rich was very calm and patient and never once made me feel stressed out while I was behind the wheel. His style of teaching fit my style of learning very well and I found that I was very easily and quickly able to overcome my fears and finally gain the confidence I needed to become a better driver. I also learned to love the pick-up truck, which I thought would be an impossible feat when I learned that a Chevy Colorado would be my instructional vehicle! All-in-all, Exceleration Driving School exceeded my expectations and I would very *highly* recommend Rich to anyone in need of instructional driving classes! *I should also mention that although the previous poster said his particular drives were cut short, each of my classes actually ran longer than expected, by 15 minutes or more* Read Less

Thanks to Shane at EXCELeration driving school I was recently able to pass my drivers test. I am giving this review three stars because while the instruction was great: 1.) The positioning of the back seats in the vehicles used were impossible to see over if you needed to check to the right for backing around a corner or parallel parking. I am tall (6'5") and if I couldn't see I could see a shorter person being challenged. 2.) I paid for six 2 hour sessions. I would say 4 of the 6 sessions we ended early by 20 minutes or more minutes. One day I was home 30 minutes early. So though I paid for 6 hours I really only got 5. I wouldn't be saying anything if it was just 5 minutes... but thats a chunk of time I feel could have been used to make me even better. Shane is a very nice guy and told me if I had any questions I could call him. I appreciate that greatly and all in all, I would recommend the instructor.Read Less
