Affordable driving school was amazing. "Ryan" is the person we initially called and spoke with. He was extremely helpful and friendly. We commuted out of Norfolk and met our instructor in Va Beach. "David", our driving instructor, was very down to earth, knowledgeable and had so much patience. My son thoroughly enjoyed working with David as he offered a fun personality my son could relate to. This made instruction fun and easy going and eliminated his stress and anxiety about driving. After the first couple days, I dropped my son off and David allowed him to drive himself back home. This saved me gas and time, ultimately giving my son the crucial interstate driving training he needed. This school was completely hastle free and worked around our schedule. i had the online course and behind the wheel for the adult waiver program it means i don't have to wait for 60 days for the drivers license and it as awesome. Bonnie really did a great job and boost my confidence cause Im really scard of stepping on the gas. lol She's really a good teacher. She gives instructions very clearly.. and very sweet. I was trained for two days as an Office Manager before I quit. Now Ryan doesn't want to pay me. Says "You never filled out a W4 and I never said you would get paid for training." Seems unfair to me since he was out of the office and had a temp do my training. She didn't know about the forms. And I was waiting for him to return in order to get that part done. I'm just wondering if he might be holding out because he's mad. Maybe he can answer that? Read Less

I decided to go with Affordable Driving School after reading good reviews on Google. I was not disappointed. Maria was really helpful with setting me up and answering all my questions. Behind the wheel classes were the best! My instructor Bonnie was just great. She was flexible with what I wanted to learn and put me through challenging driving situations (eg. expressways, roundabouts) like I had asked her to. I could choose different pick up and drop off locations which was very convenient. I can't speak for the entire school, but as for my driving instructor, David, he was lovely. He was incredibly knowledgeable and was very familiar and comfortable with everything that I needed to know and be able to do in order to pass my final test. He was a great teacher and could communicate well. Quite often David would include anecdotes from his past, as a mail delivery driver, as a Sears salesman and as a student getting his degree in teaching Behind The Wheel. This both let me get to socialize with my teacher and helped provide real-world examples for everything that he was explaining. My experiences with David were incredibly positive and memorable, cannot recommend him enough. It was obvious from the beginning that David was a great teacher, however as the week progressed, I was privileged to learn what a great mentor and person, Instructor David really is. This is our second experience with Affordable Driving School of Virginia Beach. 7 years ago, our eldest son went through them and today, our second son completed and passed his driving course including the DMV test. Instructor Ryan handled both of our sons and he was both professional and relaxing to work with as I get their feedback after each session. Ryan also pointed out areas that can be improved on to increase accuracy and confidence. Thanks to Ryan and the Affordable Driving school team I am finally licensed to drive. Ryan immediately recognized what my weaknesses were and addressed them during our practices as needed, his approach is a conversation not a lecture. I learned to become aware and multi task the necessities of driving. I learned to become comfortable behind the wheel, developed confidence in my driving and learned a lot more than I expected. The customer service is a 5 star service. The vehicle that Ryan used was very comfortable to handle. Choosing this school is one of the best decisions that I have made, in fact, on days when work had overloaded me my classes were enjoyable, nothing felt like a task. This school has the student best interest set as a priority and it does not seem to be a business about money but about people helping people and self improvement. This is best driving school in Hampton road. I have several friends who used other driving school with little to no result and after meeting and driving with Ryan got there license and spoke highly of his professionalism. If you are an individual with little to no experience this is the perfect school for you. I personal drove with Ryan and he was so awesome. He was a calm, educated, and professional person. One of the best driving schools in the Hampton Roads. I had the privilege of being taught by both Greg and Ryan. Greg is very thorough when teaching and made the 8 hours go by very quickly, I took the permit test the next day and passed. A class some of us may need one day or another.   Don't judge.  My teacher was Greg.  He is definitely informative on all things driving.  For class you should plan for 8 hours.  There is a combination of discussion and videos.  A lot of jokes and seriousness throughout the class.    After second glance you will realize your in the right place despite the storage units downstairs.  Your classroom is big enough to hold 24 kids and a teacher snugly.  There is even a vending machine if your desire to munch outweighs your desire to save money.  Bathroom facilities conveniently located inside!  It's not that bad; it's all what you make it! Win, win, win!!  The program is long but the instructor works hard to keep you engaged and adds the right mix of video, lecture and breaks.  I gave it 4 starts due to poor ventilation in the classroom. Ryan was my driving instructor. He was very patient and very calm. 2hrs went by quickly, we conversed and he def did well done job/multi tasker. I didnt take the test right away after i finish all my sessions. But i finally passed after few road test in NY kept me failing. Def in VA is not too strict and you dont have to be perfect. I was very lucky to find this place on my search bar. The instructor is a very experienced teacher and a good source to learn the right way of doing things. He made the class time flies by and his guidance while conversing made me feel comfortable and aware at the same time. He loves his job.They also accompanied me to take the test at the DMV and even though it's not their fault that I failed the road signs test, they didn't charge me anything since I didn't take the actual road test. I passed the second day but they still did not charge me. Now I have my license thanks to them.It's truly affordable and they mean it. Thank you for making me another safe  driver on the road.
