I used ASTA this summer for my 16-year-old son to take Behind-the-Wheel to get his license. Ali was great with him! My son did very well and was taken on roads that originally made him nervous to build his confidence with them. My son now feels secure enough in his driving skills to take the main route to school in the fall and not go the long way. Honestly, before I started I was terrified of the road and had no confidence what so ever on the road, but after Mr. Ali showed me everything that I was supposed to know step by step I am now ready to get on the road and take my driving test. Being Mr. Ali's student, you will see that he is is a very patent, kind, and caring person who only wants you to do great and learn the ropes of driving. Ali Shahzad is who I spoke to when hiring this service for our teen driver. He sent me a "text" as a confirmation, so I called him to confirm this business was legit. He failed to show up on the first day that was agreed upon because he claims he "forgot". He changed the schedule several times throughout these two weeks, which was not something he indicated would happen when we agreed upon a start date of 8/4/14 and an end date of 8/11/14. We were supposed to start on Monday, 8/4/14 and as of 8/14/14 we still had 2 sessions left. When he changed the schedule, he never communicated to us each time that it was changing. He claims he told our son, but he should have been letting us know as we have a family schedule that is to be maintained and our son does not know every commitment he is to be participating in. Then, each time Mr. Shahzad would "attempt" to communicate a piece of information it differed from what he told our son versus what he told us, and then he contradicted himself right in front of me as well. I have never dealt with such a rude, unresponsive and unprofessional businessman. Mr. Shahzad called me a "bad parent" in front of my son because he said we weren't around to meet him. My husband & I both have full-time jobs and he not once indicated that he needed us to sign paperwork and be present to meet him. One of the main reasons we chose this company was the fact that they did a pick-up/drop-off to our home. We have very tight schedules and need to take time off in order to be home when he arrives. If we had known ahead of time and he had communicated this request, we would have been happy to comply. I told him we will not be using him again and his response was that he was glad. I simply stated facts to him about his lack of professionalism which apparently he didn't want to hear. I asked for the name of his supervisor, and he said he is the owner. There were other issues as well, but it'll take up too much more space. The bottom line is that he was not professional and we are very displeased with this service. Every interaction with him via phone, text or in-person has been a headache and unnecessary. We will only be going through our school district from now on for the "behind the wheel" training for our other children. Read Less

I highly, HIGHLY recommend this driving school. I am an adult driver (24) who has always been hesitant to get a license. Previously, I’d had a bad experience with another driving school in the Northern Virginia area; I learned nothing with them, and was left with zero confidence in my ability to learn to drive. When I started lessons with Ali, I had problems with turning and parking. In only three 2-hour lessons, these problems were gone. He was extraordinarily patient and encouraging, and he explained things in ways that made sense and made learning how to drive an incredibly easy process. He was also very flexible in terms of scheduling, which I very much appreciated. After lessons with him, the road test was straightforward and uncomplicated. I signed up my mom, who came to live with us from Russia. She was very scared to start driving. In my country we have very aggressive drivers who don't follow rules and just buy licenses without proper training, so alot of accidents happen. The instructor who came to pick us up gave my mom confidence by uplifting her and helping her to overcome her fear one step at a time. He was very patient and positive in explaining why she needed to do this and not that and giving her opportunities to improve on what she had learned. Instructor is very knowledgeable, he knows exactly what will be on the test, so he made sure he covered every aspect of it. Now mom got enough confidence to start driving me around. I took the much needed 3-4 classes with ASTA as an adult driver hoping to secure my DL. I was initially spooked by Mr. Waqas' crisp demeanour. But don't be fooled by his no-nonsense disciplinary attitude. He knows exactly what he is talking about and he means well! His intention throughout was the same as mine. This is the best bang for your buck! I signed up with a friend and received a discount for our separate 6-hour driving classes. They are the best deal in Glendale for driving school, you simply will not find a cheaper school.They were 3 different classes, 2 hours each, and my instructor came and picked me up from my home each time. Both the car and teacher were very presentable and I felt very comfortable.Unlike learning to drive from parents, my instructor was very calm and made sure I understood all of his instructions.
