I had the BEST experience anyone could have taking a road test. Rick is insanely supportive, and helped calm my nerves! He is the nicest man I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, and it’s CLEAR AS DAY that they’re not scamming people. Head checks are VERY important no matter where you go! I failed my first attempt AT THE DMV, for missing two head checks, so don’t think that they’re making it up here if that’s why you fail. Going here has been the biggest and most humiliating experience ever. It is a big scam and they love making you come back again and again so you can pay more. If they know you are from outside the US, you are definitely never going to pass the test here. They make you take "EXTRA HELP LESSONS" which cost hundreds of dollars to make money off of you. It's hard to find. Then they have their own cars to test with that you're unfamiliar with. I practiced with one that has softer breaking and the gear changer on the neck of the steering. This you tap the break the smallest amount and it stops. Then my feet are too big for the height of the pedals. That wasn't a matter of leg room. Then your gear changer was in between seats so I was unfamiliar with that. I've also been practicing on the road rather than just neighborhoods. He was also unclear on where to park. He tried having me park in front of someone's driveway blocking them if they tried to come home, or leave. At least I enjoyed the sharper turning on their car. He's also nice. Read Less

Today I went in and got my driving test done with, rick! It was the most remarkable experience, especially when it comes to something as nerve wracking as taking a road test! The office is relaxing, rick and April are amazing! Now before I go into the most amazing experience I have ever had taking a road test, I'll tell you of my prior 24hr nightmare. I went to a plus over on redwood by Ivape, and the instructor grabbed my wheel right when I started backing up. He made me extremely nervous, said that when I parallel parked that I need to be exactly 12" from the curb, I was TOO close and that illegal? Then he said I need to head check on both sides if I am going in the left lane. He insulted me saying I need to stop at the stop sign then go. Someone ran out into the street on redwood and I stopped and turned and he yelled at me and said I failed because I wasn't respecting pedestrians, they need to cross the street completely before going. I could go on, but my goodness, drive right is amazing! I would recommend this to every school, every person I know who needs to take this test. The way I was treated, the environment prior to the test in the waiting area, the empathetic personable demeanor of both April and Rick is amazing! I wasn't nervous, I was relaxed and passed with flying colors! April and tuck are here for you to pass, they are amazing what they do! So my daughter got sent here for her driver test from her instructor and they failed her due to head check Kinda got mix filling either they want you to pay more which we payed 40.00 and if u fail u pay another 40.00 Reading google reviews everyone complained about head checks Mix feelings here We will try 1 more time other then that will go to the driver division and b on the long waiting list Read Less

I had a wonderful experience during my road test at Drive Right. They are open from 10-6 on Mon-Fri and Saturdays by appointment. I was able to get an appointment on a Saturday, which worked out for me. The test costs $40. If paying by card, a tax of $2.92 is also charged.Rick was my instructor during the test. He was very thorough, but also very patient. Before the test he explained all the maneuvers that I would be tested on (parallel parking, uphill / downhill parking, lane changes, right and left turns, u-turn, 3-point turn, straight line backing). After the test he also explained the areas where I needed improvement.I recommend this place for road tests! Read Less

Every single person who was testing before me failed, then I failed. (i've been driving for over 30 years, just needed to take the road test because I haven't been licensed in Utah for a few years because I didn't have a car) There were also people in the waiting room who were taking the test for the second time because they failed the first time. How interesting that everyone fails the first time. It's quite a gimmick they have running. Automatically fail you so you have to go back and pay another 40.00 to take the test again. I won't go back. I'll take the test elsewhere, 40.00 dollars, and time wasted. Scam artists. The good reviews must be from friends and family. Just wanted to add that when I was to parallel park the instructor told me to go in front of a parked truck and park. I couldn't because there were trash cans there so he said pull up to the next parked car and park in front of it. I started to then he slammed on his brakes and said "here!" behind the next car when he had originally told me to do it in front of the car. Geeze, it was so annoying. He fails as an examiner!I failed because supposedly I didn't turn my head enough, what they call "head checks" I did turn my head, I'm a VERY cautious driver, but apparently I didn't swivel my head 365 degrees like Linda Blair in the Exorcist, so it wasn't good enough. RIDICULOUS!It would be interesting to see the percentage of first time fails as compared to legitimate places. They need to be audited. Do you notice that most of the good reviews mention them by name? Who does that? Who remembers the name of the person giving you a test? Or feels the need to put it in a review? After reading the reviews on Google I went to Drive Right. I'm just a nervous tester even at school for my tests there. The office was nice and they had like this spa music on and I felt like I was in my living room. Had to wait about 20 minutes but it was worth the wait. I tested with April and she was really nice and calm so I was relaxed after that. My friends all tested with Rick and April and it turned into a great experience for me to. If you're a nervous tester Drive Right is for you and don't be nervous. Remember your head checks. Read Less

Not a driving school, but a driving test center. No appointments taken. Just walk in with $40 and the learner's permit. April and Rick are both really nice, putting the testee at ease. They are also very thorough. My son took his test here a couple of weeks ago, and I was pleased and impressed. Why wait on the DLD's month long waiting list to take the test? We were there over Fall Break!  It was very busy because many teenagers were using their day off to do their driving test, including my son.  April was very kind and through.  I was fun to see teen after teen come back with a jubilant smile after passing their test.  If you do not pass, it is legitimate reason either from the accommodation of points or you made one of the automatic fail mistakes.  April is honest business person. Do not use Drive Right. This lady is just in this for the money. She will talk on the phone and lose track of exactly what you did. She made me park uphill almost twice before she realized I have already done it once, while she was on the phone. You will end up paying her 40 dollars and she will just fail you to come back with more money. You are better off going to the DMV to take your free test. Read Less

In my opinion this was just unperfessional and ridiculous. We waited in the uncomfortable chairs for a half hour listening to the instructor give the same failing speech to every one else and refer them to the same school. She was on the phone to a personal friend before the instruction for 5 minutes. she then failed me over a head check and tried to get me to sign up a $300 dollar coarse.
