I used them thru my grandsons school and every time you turn around there is another $10 here or there. They do not do what they say, and if you are doing this so you don't have to worry with your kids driving training look somewhere else. I ordered and paid for the online parent taught and then decided I didn't want to deal with it. I was willing to pay the fee for them to do it. I paid the $390 originally posted and was told I owed $10 more so I paid that. Was told the driving instructor was having a serious surgery and driving might be delayed, but they would find someone else. I paid the other $10 only to pay it again. We started in March or around there, and all was well. He got his learning papers but we had to go all the way to San Antonio to get them and pay an additional amount of money I think around $17. Got that and got permit. Waited and waited for driving to start and finally called them and the lies started then. They said they had told the students to get with whoever to set up driving. Never got in touch with the adults that paid the money. Then was told I still owed $10, just agreed to repay it. My grandson per there contract had until July 3rd to finish his driving, but he was in Dallas visiting his mom for the summer. So this could not be done. I had to pay and additional $60 for him to finish. They did appologize for this but still had to pay the $60 plus $10 for him to finish. This was a very expensive drivers training. When I went up there to pay this, they pulled a sticky note from his file that said, "mother wants to do driving with student". How odd his mom lives in Dallas, and I paid for his class and he lives with me. It is now August and he has finally finished and they lost his certificate, but have been told today it has been found. Do not use this school very nasty inside, and people are rude. My experience was terrible. Read Less

Terrible experience all around, they were very rude and unprofessional. My son would tell me how they'd always ignore the class and just hand them assignments to do on there own. He did like his one teacher who was probably in her 50s + with black hair and glasses, she also teaches English. She would provide help to him unlike the rest. The inside of the building was very messy and always smelled like tacos. The worst was when my son had to turn in his binder which had everything in it. His friends got cleared but he didn't, he had to re-do it because he wrote in blue ink on one page. I was so outraged and upset that he worked that hard just to have to work harder. Also not to mention when he went for his drives sometimes his instructor would pull his phone out and not pay attention, plus the cars were beat up Disgusting red cars with one having a full blown flat. And all this hell for spending $400 dollars! Please do not come here as i regret it majorly, your better off doing it online. Read Less

If I could give zero stars, I would. Awful experience all around. 1. Driving instructor quit halfway through my daughter's driving lessons and didn't record three drives. She had to re-do those drives. 2. Car she drove for one of the night drives had a headlight out. Unsafe and illegal. 3. School has trouble hiring and retaining instructors; driving times are extremely hard to schedule because there are so few drivers. 4. Receptionists require that you call them every Monday morning to schedule drives. Only one drive allowed per week while they're short on drivers. Can only schedule one week in advance. 5. Receptionist put wrong completion date on form to turn in to DMV, forcing daughter to reschedule driver license test with DMV. 6. Rude and clueless receptionists. Bad combination. Bad business. ATTEND ANOTHER SCHOOL!!!! Many of my friends attended different driving schools in San Antonio, or participated in parent taught driving lessons and they claim it to be much easier than Central Park. Central Park is a money hungry establishment that will do anything to steal money from people. I was also targeted by coach Conales, the teacher in the back office. He repeatedly picked on me the entire class and hinted at the fact that I live a partying lifestyle, which I do not. Many of the instructors seem uninterested in their job, one of which claiming that he "hates his job so much" as he said under his breath. If your looking for an established and well organized driving school Central Park Is definitely not the choice for you. This is the WORST driving school in all of San Antonio and any other choice would be better. Read Less

By far the worst service provider I have come across in quite some time. Rude, uneducated, unprofessional staff. Policies and procedures are not communicated efficiently and effectively to parents. They do not answer the phone most of the time-it took me a week to get a hold of someone to ask a question. I was given incorrect information which led to me traveling to their office from 45 minutes away only to be treated rudely again when I explained that I had was simply following the instructions I received from them by phone. The office is dark, smelly, dirty, crowded, disorganized and had a floor fan in the lobby as the A/C appeared to be out. This school has simply cornered the local market for driver's education because there isn't enough competition to run them out of business or force them to change. Hopefully since new businesses are opening up to give them a run for their money one of the two will happen. No one that pays $400 for a service deserves to be treated disrespectfully when they need help getting through the process of obtaining a driver's license for their child. I am also leery of them insisting on cash for things-that is a red flag!!!! Read Less

There are 2 parts to the instruction: sit down class and 7 driving sessions. The sit-down sessions are ok. Its nothing that they couldn't do online but they charge the full 2-part fee for just the 2nd part if you do the 1st part yourself. the last of the 7 sessions is a driving test that is harder than the DPS. they don't tell you that up front. I was expecting to teach the finishing-up driving part in my car which is different than their small cars but my child had to pass their test first which cause a lot of angst and $$ since they charge for each 'test'. Also, on the last day, they squashed 5 people in a car (they are only supposed to have 4). They had 3 in the backseat with my HS daughter literally squashed between 2 HS boys - NOT GOOD.There was also a time when there was a problem with the steering or brakes but they went out with the car anyway. The driving instructors sometimes have different expectations and this can be confusing for the students and what pleases one instructor may displease another (too fast for one, too slow for another, etc.) Read Less

Make sure that you call each and every morning to confirm that your Class, Drive or Observation is still scheduled and that you are scheduled for it. They will tell you that you don't need to call, but you do. If YOU don't verify you might waste a trip when they cancel. They will charge you a fee of $25.00 if you don't call and cancel your Drive appointment at least 4 hours prior to the appointment, but hey won't give you credit if they cancel and you waste a trip. You must pay this fee in cash as well (hmm). And they will not tell you that you have any fees to pay until you have completed the class. Then they have you over a barrel. You must pay the fees before they will give you the paperwork necessary to take to DPS.Only the Owner of the company can / will make decisions, exceptions, etc.. The owner does not trust the staff that they have hired to make decisions. In addition, the staff in the office after 5:00 pm cannot answer any questions or solve any problems or concerns. You must bring your concerns to the attention of the Office Manager between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm who will then discuss it with the Owner (you can't speak directly to the owner) and get back to you.If you do decide to go with Central Park Driving School, Question everything, don't assume anything and get their responses in writing. They will make you sign a contract. Hold them accountable to that contract as well. Read Less

I sent my son here for driving school mainly because the location is convenient. They give you six months from the time you sign up to complete all the classroom and driving time, however scheduling the drives has proven to be difficult. They often don't answer the phone during business hours. When I do get through, I'm always told that they're booked and "call back next week". They somehow have no record of one of my sons drive sessions so now he has to repeat it AND they tried to have me pay extra for it because it's past the 6 month mark. My two oldest kids got so much out of their classes at Central Park Driving School. They always came home from class telling me all of the ""cool things about the road"" and the effects of drinking and driving and texting while driving. The classroom instructor was serious about the kids turning in their notebooks on time, and finishing their assignments, but as firm as he was, he was also lots of fun and always had great things to tell the kids, even from his personal experiences. The driving instructors are great too! Being a mom who is always paranoid about their kids' driving, I was absolutely amazed at the instructors' nerves of steel. They are very patient with the student driver and are always giving them tips on driving defensively. My two oldest kids have really enjoyed this driving school, and have even voiced to me and the Central Park Driving School staff that they are going to miss their classes and drives, not to mention the instructors themselves. I am highly satisfied with this driving school and I am going to send the rest of my kids to take driving classes there when it comes time for them to start driving. Also, come to find out at the beginning of the kids' driving course, the owner of Central Park Driving School (Robert Zaldivar) was the very same man who had taught me how to drive when I was taking a driving course in my high school years back in the 80's. Back in my day, when I took driving from Mr. Zaldivar, I too learned very much and I have remembered a lot. His driving lessons and behind-the-wheel instruction helped make the a good driver, and I feel certain that his lessons (taught to my kids by his brother in the classroom) will be passed on to my kids. I would HIGHLY recommend Central Park Driving School to anyone who wants their kids to learn how to be better, defensive drivers. Read Less

I do not recommend this driving school! They frequently cancel driving appointments for my children and because of that, I had to pay 45 Dollars to extend the contract, all because they could not provide the drivers. Many of the instructors are old, one is even senile and frequently refers to Viet Nam. Pick Central Park if you want your kids to be educated by unreliable, old just plain stupid people. It took them 3 weeks to get my daughters permit, even though they said 3 days. Now, she is unable to get her license on her birthday because of them. I have spoken to three other parents who have had the same problems. One of the drivers used his brake so frequently that my daughter cut her hand on the steering wheel. The cars themselves are hazards with wires and tape dangling near the peddles. Read Less

Read Less

Do not waste your money on Central Park Driving. You will be spending your money to be treated like a second class citizen, your child will be frustrated and treated like a moron and they will mix up your paperwork and scheduled drives. The customer service is beyond bad. They lack organization skills and the ability to schedule drives appropriately. When you express your aggravation they laugh at you. It is absolutely sickening. first of all they changed their classes on you without notice. if this is routine they should tell you in advance what their intentions are. they messed up my wk schedule not mentioning my sons wk schedule. he is a high school student and has a part time job that he originaly had requested time off. It's a no wonder they give these kids 5 months to make up a class. they have no consideration for their customers. i should have picked up on their customer service first time i walked in there and the receptionist was rude and not helpful at all. her respond to my questions was you need to check on line. And this special prevlidge they advertise ""only for AHHS students"" is pathetic. I pd my fee just as they asked.

The staff are rude and disorganized. I will never do business with Central Park Drive again. Read Less

Read Less
