My boyfriend went through the after schooling and then drive time. They messed up his drive time hours, and scheduled him on the wrong day for his drivers test without even a days notice. Let me start off my saying that coach Jackson and 1 other instructor were actually really cool theoughout my entire experience here. Ok so the people who work in the office there are absolutely terrible at their job. They literally lose everything that you do. After I had taken my driver's test, I had to wait more than 2 weeks to actually have them get all my paperwork from the main office and have them organize it for me. Do not send your child here as they will do their absolute best to make sure it takes a very long time for them to get their license. This is the worst customer service experience I've received from a business in years. Highly disorganized, all scheduling is run through the front desk so there is no way to schedule online. Schedule is always booked and we learned we needed to register two months before our son's fifteenth birthday, then he could only drive one day per week. The customer service for parents is rude, slow and ineffective. The receptionist refused to help me after 30 min of waiting and told me she was too busy to find my son's paperwork when I was the only person in the office.  She demonstrated erratic behavior and I am not sure she is suited to work with teens. Also, the staff tries to make money off the kids by selling bulk snacks from Costco. On a positive note, my son is now a safe driver...I guess that was worth the annoyance? My advice is they raise prices so supply meets demand and they can hire more staff. I would pay a competitor more to not have to work with them when it is time for our second son to drive. Read Less

I would give this place negative stars if I could. Do not waste your time or money on this joke of a place. First off they are all about money. They are soooo over booked it's ridiculous yet they keep Taking more new kids for more money. My son finished his classroom hours TWO months ago.Still no call for behind the wheel practice which we paid 400$ for. So I went into the Office and A young girl at the front desk says that oh they are so booked that it will be 6 or more months before he will be totally completely done with his behind the wheel lessons. WTF?? But that my son should be getting a call soon. Anyways a week later that same young girl (like19 years old) called and said they had a cancellation and did we want it? So of course we took it since we had already waited two months for an appt. My son left work early for his appt. And what happens? Nobody shows up. THE DRIVING INSTRUCTOR DID NOT SHOW UP!!  I am not bullshitting you they did not show up. Now I'm absolutely livid with this shitty hell of a place. This is the most unorganized un professional shit hole of a driving school. Tomorrow I will call corporate and report this hell hole. I do NOT recommend this place to ANYONE. I have had the same experience as the other 1 star ratings.  The office staff tries but are horribly understaffed.  I am so sorry I spent the money on this driving school because I do not know that my son will ever be put on the schedule for the driving times required to get his license.  Poor thing.. he just says he hopes he can get the 7 lessons sometime in the 12 months.  Really?!  The owners should be ashamed taking people's money knowing they cannot fulfill the student's needed driving times. This is my very first bad review of anything I've spent the time to write. My first two children used Sears driving school and it was light years ahead Austin driving school in terms of just about every aspect of the process. My child has apparently been relegated to chauffeuring the driving instructor on errands instead of learning how to drive. During the most recent driving time, the instructor (Kris/Chris?) spent most of the time in the car on his cell phone, had the students wait in the car for approx. 10-15 minutes at Mode'le Salon and Spa and then wait for another (approximately) 5-10 minutes at Marquis Shoreline apartments. He then drove approximately 15 mph over the speed limit to return the children to the office...late, I might add. I have serious concerns about what may have transpired during those stops. At the very least, they never should have happened.I called and left messages with both Richard Reyna and the office manager at 512-280-4499, but neither one bothered to return my call. Read Less

How funny it could be when you will find someone taking your information, says I will call you back, and you don't hear anything after one week? I called them to setup a schedule, waited one week for their call and called them again. They are saying they have no information about me and they have no schedule out of office hours - which somebody promised in the last week. How these call centers are screwed up businesses in US !!! Because of all of these reviews, I was almoooost scared away. To my surprise, the scheduling was SUPER easy. I literally called, told them what days I was off and was able to book my classes for two weeks out. My advice is to do that - call a few weeks ahead of time. My instructor was strict, but to the point - as one might expect with a retired football coach. The first day was rough, anxiety ridden, but from then on, all was a breeze. I still can't believe how much easier it was than mentioned in the previous reviews. I passed my driving test today, and that's worth more than I can say. Thank you Coach Jackson! Read Less

0 isn't an option. We used the Burnet 'school', but I couldn't find that location on Yelp. I guess they sort of have a monopoly on teen drivers, but this is ridiculous. It's taken over 6 months to get our 7, extremely expensive, drives in. We can only get a drive time every 3 weeks, and sometimes it's even longer than that. They either need more staff, better organization or to take on fewer students at a time. If you find an alternative, take it -- unless you have lots of time and energy to devote to this. Also, according to my son, they don't really drive for the whole time they're there.. A lot of time is spent waiting to start and they often end early.They're pleasant enough on the phone, but that's not enough. They also have to get kids finished in a timely manner. Read Less

Our second child is currently learning to drive with Austin Driving School in Cedar Park. We have had an excellent experience with this business.Getting a drive time is hassle free and we have also been called by the school to schedule times.  Our first child went to Longhorn Driving School in Cedar Park and we had a less than wonderful experience. Getting a drive time was incredibly difficult and when we failed to get the hours we were told that we were out of luck. I am very, very happy with our experience so far at Austin Driving School.  If we complete with no problems I will change this review from 4 stars to 5 stars. Read Less

Do I really have to even give these fools a single star? That's more than they deserve.Avoid this place like the plague! First, this place is disgusting. My daughter was in good health when she started driving school, then after a week into class she became very sick. I had to rush her to the ER! She had contracted a viral bacteria that the office person there had. I discovered that it was contracted from the driving school when the office person admitted to having the exact same illness but tried convincing me that it wasn't contagious- yeah right. Secondly, this place is extremely unorganized. My daughter was supposed to start the driving portion back when school started, she had herself added to the list to drive on the final day of class, I had to keep calling back to get her added- every time I called I was told to expect a call in 2 weeks with a driving time...nothing happened! At this point, they just start playing like they have amnesia because every time I've called this location or the corporate office, I'm told I'll be called back but it never happens until today. Today I say that I want my money back and I'm told that I'll have to pay a fee for breaking the contract! Yes they did! Very friendly staff and instructors. The scheduling and payment methods were a little archaic, but I guess if it isn't broke, don't fix it. I never called in to make an appointment because I always did it when I picked him up from class. You were able to choose which instructor you signed up to drive with, so you could keep the same one each time or choose another. They always had plenty of openings. They always gave us a reminder call for our drive time so that we didn't forget. They even called to remind us of how many hours we still had needed to complete and scheduled more drive time appointments for us. They get the worst part ....getting in the vehicle with a teenager for their first time behind the wheel. Now I can be a little more relaxed when it is my turn to ride along to log drive time. It was unorganized, at best, and they were not very professional. It seems as if they are taking advantage of the fact that they are the ""only game in town"". Each time my child would go out driving, it was with a different instructor who had a different style of how they wanted the driving done. This caused confusion for my child and the others in the car. They are also not very patient and understanding of kids who have never driven before. The 3rd day out driving, they were taking the kids on I-35!!! This is not safe and we objected strenuously but pressure to go on the highway persisted so we pulled our child out of the course. We are now doing the teaching ourselves and our child will get a license at her own pace. Austin Driving School is concerned only about the cash and not the safety or well being of the kids in their charge. They loose paperwork, don't write things down, tell you it will get fixed then it doesn't and you end you redoing lessons for no reason. What a joke! Sure the classroom instruction is fine but then again you can get the same online! I saw they picked up at our son's school and thought oh, how convenient. That's the only convenience and you pay dearly with inconveniences afterward. Once you get to the driving portion you get to call once a week at 3 PM, Thurs only! If by some miracles you get through while appointments are available they do nothing for behind the wheel but evaluate how well you taught your child to drive, what am I paying THEM for?! Then your child conveniently doesn't get enough points during the included driving sessions so now you get to pay them even more and schedule more appointments through their stupid system. This driving school is an absolute joke. How are they still in business with numerous complaints to the BBB, DPS, TEA and the Texas Attorney General? I have had it with them, trying to schedule drive time is like trying to be the 100th caller on a radio station give away. I just shelled out another $325.00 for my son to go to a different school (ABC). who scheduled his 7 drive times to be completed in the next two weeks. That is the way it should be done. The classroom hours were no problem to complete, but six weeks later our daughter has only two hours of driving. Calling on Thursdays to schedule drive time is a joke. You'll never reach them before they are booked. My daughter is in school all day and my wife and I work full time, so, going to the school to schedule drive time is not an option. We are not happy with the arrangements to schedule drive times. After several complaints to the Round Rock and Austin offices we still don't have any scheduled drive times. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL. The staff is totally inept and rude. They make ""Appointments"" for ""behind the wheel instruction"" and NEVER show up for the ""Appointments."" They stood up my kid three times. I have made a complaint w/ the Texas Department of Public Safety and they (DPS) said that they have had numerous complaints (about Austin Driving School) and agree that this driving school is incompentent. THey will be doing a ""investigation"" of Austin Driving School. Do yourself a favor and either teach your kid to drive (online) or go somewhere else. I cannot itterate just how terrible these people are. My kid missed the last 2 days of class (hospital)...and he was given a 100 on the final...that he NEVER took....they are inept and unethical.
