Disappointed with DPS Road test. Daughter passed just fine, but it is important to note that this is ONLY the road test, even they you pass, they DO NOT get their license. They don’t even get a piece of paper stating they are legal to drive. You still have to go to the DMV and let them process the paperwork. I feel this should be explicitly stated on the website, I would never assume that a place that is licensed to administer the test could not also hand them the license. So, my daughter passed but she still can’t drive by herself until we go to the DMV. If I had known this, I would have just scheduled the test at the DMV and gotten it all done at once. Now, I can’t even make an appointment online at the DMV, because you can only schedule an appointment to take the road test, not to simply process paperwork. I tried to call to ask about the process but of course no one at the DMV answers the phone. So while the test was probably more pleasant at the school, it was not more convenient. Plus, they kept having to kick us out of the building and we had to stand outside every time the instructor left with a student, there was no one at the desk so I guess we can’t be in there alone. Very annoying to have to get up and stand outside every time an instructor came and went. Poor system. Instructor was extremely nice, however, my daughter enjoyed the testing experience. Please make clear on your website that you are only taking the road test but NOT getting your license. I don’t think that’s obvious.

I was there at 9:50 my text was schedule from 930 to 1000 he said i was late and had to reschedule and that he dint have time for me because he had a tight schedule which meant i had to pay 35 more dollars, But before that a white man came in with no paper work and they told him to come back bring his right documents and that they would squeeze him in for a test so iam pretty sure i had to reschedule because i was hispanic

Went in to take my drivers test on August 14th.. They didn't let me take my test due to not having a particular form. But, when I called the day before to confirm my test time, they told me that I didn't need this particular form. I went home and got the form and rescheduled my test for sept 6th. I went in to take my test and the first thing the instructor had me do was parallel park. I parallel parked perfectly and when he asked me to pull out, He said I tapped a cone. I don't think I even hit the cone. I would've known. Anyways, I felt I was judged unfairly.

No communication whatsoever from teachers and Drive times r hard to reserve. Last class was supposed to be on a Saturday but never specified what time on Saturday. Wouldn't lift the phone at all and when I showed up on Saturday when my usual weekday classes were, front desk lady said the class was from 2-4 and that I missed it.several others including me showed up for no reason on Saturday...smh

The classroom portion was fine. BUT be aware of the driving instructors. My daughter came back from driving completely in tears. The driving instructor asked the other student driver if she needed a "spanking". He referred to them as babe and honey. He repeatedly touched my daughters right arm as she was driving. He scolded her for not smiling, not taking to him enough, then made fun of her when she did speak. When I addressed him and the school with this issue, he physically waved his arm at me and "dismissed me" and breathed in an exasperated manner. The school simply said they would speak with him and put him on probation. They do not see the seriousness and danger of him riding out with young people. Do not let your children ride out with Coach Melvin Imotichey!!!

The biggest problem is they don't have enough people giving driving lessons. I'm looking at their calendar now, trying to schedule driving lessons with my son, and there are only two men giving lesson...
The biggest problem is they don't have enough people giving driving lessons. I'm looking at their calendar now, trying to schedule driving lessons with my son, and there are only two men giving lessons. So October is totally booked up and so is November, except for 2pm and 3pm lessons on weekdays in November, which means I have to take my son out of school early to get his 2 allowed lessons.
Looking at a Saturday in November and they have only 6 slots per saturday total, and they are all booked up already. They have this insane system where they arbitrarily open up days so you can schedule a lesson. For example, in November, 3 of the Saturdays were opened up and they each have only 6 slots and all of them have been taken. The Sundays have not been opened up yet. How do you know when they decide to open up a day for us to schedule? They told me to randomly check the web site. Why no email notification? Why not open them all up on the same day?
I'm not allowed to look into December, yet.
So right now, my son has no lessons in October or November and it's up to me to just keep going back to their web site crossing my fingers that they added some more lesson slots, and that someone else hasn't already booked it.
I do not recommend this place at all.

First of all I have to say the classroom experience at the Frisco West location was great and everything went fine with that. Once we got the learner's permit and tried to sign up for driving time we are having problems. There are no driving times available this or next month. You are limited to 2 sessions a month, but there are none available. We have an 8 month contract which sounds like plenty of time until you lose two months to them being overbooked. Their office staff is very rude. They hung up on me (do people really do that? yes they do). They said I only logged in 5 times in Sept to check for times, but really, if it shows all red each of those 5 times, it makes me realize there is not a chance. I will hope to get lucky and log in the minute they add November drive times or I will lose another month. Not a great way to do business. I certainly will be filing a complaint with whatever regulatory board they are under as well as with Angie's List and BBB.

One of the worst customer service experiences I've had the mispleasure of encountering. Understaffed and overbooked drive times. Then after the window of time expires for your student driver's contract (because you can't book the drive times), they hold the Completion Certificate hostage with extension fees. This bait and switch lines their pockets and leaves our driver unable to complete his test.

Miss Lynn was our youngest son's instructor for driving and
most of his drive times have been with Frank and my hubby and I are beyond thrilled with the patience care and concern given. I keep saying to myself "My boy's have to be amazing drivers because they will be driving my future grandchildren around". Driving school of North Texas REALLY gets the assist in helping us with our goals of teaching our sons GREAT driving practices. THANKS A MILLION LYNN & FRANK !!

6.27.15 - So far, our experience with the Driving School of North Texas (Coit location; Frisco East) has been fine. My son has immensely enjoyed the classes with Ms. Lynn and enjoyed going.I was supposed to be emailed his login and password information, but I never received it. Calling the school didn't help, no one answered. With all the horrible reviews regarding the scheduling of drive times, I'm concerned my son won't be able to finish them before his time is up.I will re-review this business after we have signed up for drive time sessions and again when he has completed the entirety of the driving course.

Unless you enjoy being condescended to, this school is not right for you. The front desk is always unhelpful and disorganized, and scheduling with them is near impossible because of their ineptitude. They also claim you don't have to do their behind the wheel time, but fail to tell you if you choose to do this you have to have someone else send 20 dollars to Austin so you can "complete" that. In short, this driving school is inept and WILL screw you over.

Horrible, inconvenient, and no replying to emails, phone calls. Upon having my son enroll in the driving school classes he finished the classes and got the information easily and the classes were done well by driving teachers. The problem came when scheduling drive times. The dates were so crammed and with so few instructors they could not accommodate each student at a timely manner. You can only schedule two a month, yet having he class expire after 6 months you were almost forced to drop everything you were doing to find drive times. My son would look at the beginning of each month busting his butt to get each of them in and after doing so and completing his make up classes was finally finished. Leading to the second problem. The paperwork given at the completion of the class was supposed to be given to him on the last day. Instead, the instructor told him to come back up later in the week to get it. So we called and emailed asking when to come back up. And was left with no reply. He was forced to cancel his drive test and reschedule pushing him 2 months back all because it was an "inconvenience" to hand him the paperwork and sign it. Don't enroll here, good class, good drive instructors, horrible service and can be completed much faster though other methods.

What joke. This place is the worst run busines I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They do not have enough drivers to handle the students. They ask you to go online and schedule on your own.. just sign in and find an empty slot. Then you can't find a slot... then they make updates and dont tell you so you are forced to check in several times a day every day just to see if there availability. They won't return emails... then they say they never got them. Their support hours are minimal (1pm to 7pm), maybe if they staffed more hours they could find more drivers.I had a family emergency so I had to miss a scheduled drive... so they told my son he had to pay $25 to drive. Come on, he is a minor and he is not the one funding this course - and after all the hours I have spent trying to schedule drive times (to no avail), it seems Driving School of North Texas should be paying me.Find better place... I will be making a complaint to the BBB also.

The driving instructors are really great people, but the classroom instructors are just ok. Everyone at the front desk is friendly enough, and they are attentive when you go in to ask questions. The REAL problem is scheduling drive times!!!! My two oldest sons took their driver's ed with a different school, and getting in class and getting the driving portion done were no problem at all - 4wks total. At Driving School of NT - Coit Road - it is nearly impossible to get drive times. My youngest son started the classroom portion in November, and is finishing up this week. However, he has only completed 1, 2hr driving session - 1!!!!!! After literally hawking the calendar site for 2 weeks I have gotten him a second drive time 1 week after he will have completed his classroom sessions. That means he will still need 5 more 2hr driving sessions. I'm not sure that he will even complete on time.Its ridiculous!!!!!

The Driving School of North Texas in Frisco has been a horrible experience. Beware that this school does not have enough driving instructors for the number of students they have enrolled. The lack of driving instructors makes it ridiculously hard for the students to even get on the driving schedule, yet the students are required to get all of their driving hours completed in a limited time frame. When I called the school to express my concerns about this, the main lady in the office was very bitter, rude and condescending. This place is incredibly disappointing!!! I would never ever recommend this driving school to anyone.

Whereas the classroom experience for my daughter was simple enough, scheduling drive times has been a nightmare. My daughter began her classroom sessions at the beginning of July and we're still scheduling classes. I've called several times requesting assistance and I'm always directed to the website. Basically you have to check the website on a daily basis to schedule classes. I was told once to check around 5pm, now I'm being told to check around noon.On October 14 an email was sent out noting the shortage of drive instructors and stated a call down list would be created for those students nearing expiration. I have not received any notifications since. I called yesterday and informed the caller that my daughter has received a notice in regards to expiration when attempting to schedule a drive time. The caller assured me that she would be fine and should be able to schedule drive times in January. She also of course directed me to the site and requested that my daughter check the site daily at noon. I said well since she's in school, I'll have to check the site daily. So of course I log in to the site today and received the same past course expiration that my daughter received. I would strongly advise other parents to look elsewhere for their child's driving school needs. I have NEVER written an email to a company or left a bad review. However my experience with this company has proved to be so negative, I felt the need to warn others.

Disappointed with DPS Road test. Daughter passed just fine, but it is important to note that this is ONLY the road test, even they you pass, they DO NOT get their license. They don’t even get a piece of paper stating they are legal to drive. You still have to go to the DMV and let them process the paperwork. I'm looking at their calendar now, trying to schedule driving lessons with my son, and there are only two men giving lessons. First of all I have to say the classroom experience at the Frisco West location was great and everything went fine with that. Once we got the learner's permit and tried to sign up for driving time we are having problems. There are no driving times available this or next month. With all the horrible reviews regarding the scheduling of drive times, I'm concerned my son won't be able to finish them before his time is up.I will re-review this business after we have signed up for drive time sessions and again when he has completed the entirety of the driving course.

Unless you enjoy being condescended to, this school is not right for you. The front desk is always unhelpful and disorganized, and scheduling with them is near impossible because of their ineptitude. They also claim you don't have to do their behind the wheel time, but fail to tell you if you choose to do this you have to have someone else send 20 dollars to Austin so you can "complete" that. In short, this driving school is inept and WILL screw you over.

Very good driving school! I recommend everyone to take their Drivers Ed course there. The Instructor Ms.Lin is awesome! Very recommended.

Horrible, inconvenient, and no replying to emails, phone calls. Upon having my son enroll in the driving school classes he finished the classes and got the information easily and the classes were done well by driving teachers. The problem came when scheduling drive times. The dates were so crammed and with so few instructors they could not accommodate each student at a timely manner. You can only schedule two a month, yet having he class expire after 6 months you were almost forced to drop everything you were doing to find drive times. My son would look at the beginning of each month busting his butt to get each of them in and after doing so and completing his make up classes was finally finished. Leading to the second problem. The paperwork given at the completion of the class was supposed to be given to him on the last day. Instead, the instructor told him to come back up later in the week to get it. So we called and emailed asking when to come back up. And was left with no reply. He was forced to cancel his drive test and reschedule pushing him 2 months back all because it was an "inconvenience" to hand him the paperwork and sign it. Don't enroll here, good class, good drive instructors, horrible service and can be completed much faster though other methods.

What joke. This place is the worst run busines I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They do not have enough drivers to handle the students. They ask you to go online and schedule on your own.. just sign in and find an empty slot. Then you can't find a slot... then they make updates and dont tell you so you are forced to check in several times a day every day just to see if there availability. They won't return emails... then they say they never got them. Their support hours are minimal (1pm to 7pm), maybe if they staffed more hours they could find more drivers.I had a family emergency so I had to miss a scheduled drive... so they told my son he had to pay $25 to drive. Come on, he is a minor and he is not the one funding this course - and after all the hours I have spent trying to schedule drive times (to no avail), it seems Driving School of North Texas should be paying me.Find better place... I will be making a complaint to the BBB also.

The driving instructors are really great people, but the classroom instructors are just ok. Everyone at the front desk is friendly enough, and they are attentive when you go in to ask questions. The REAL problem is scheduling drive times!!!! My two oldest sons took their driver's ed with a different school, and getting in class and getting the driving portion done were no problem at all - 4wks total. At Driving School of NT - Coit Road - it is nearly impossible to get drive times. My youngest son started the classroom portion in November, and is finishing up this week. However, he has only completed 1, 2hr driving session - 1!!!!!! After literally hawking the calendar site for 2 weeks I have gotten him a second drive time 1 week after he will have completed his classroom sessions. That means he will still need 5 more 2hr driving sessions. I'm not sure that he will even complete on time.Its ridiculous!!!!!

The Driving School of North Texas in Frisco has been a horrible experience. Beware that this school does not have enough driving instructors for the number of students they have enrolled. The lack of driving instructors makes it ridiculously hard for the students to even get on the driving schedule, yet the students are required to get all of their driving hours completed in a limited time frame. When I called the school to express my concerns about this, the main lady in the office was very bitter, rude and condescending. This place is incredibly disappointing!!! I would never ever recommend this driving school to anyone.

Whereas the classroom experience for my daughter was simple enough, scheduling drive times has been a nightmare. My daughter began her classroom sessions at the beginning of July and we're still scheduling classes. I've called several times requesting assistance and I'm always directed to the website. Basically you have to check the website on a daily basis to schedule classes. I was told once to check around 5pm, now I'm being told to check around noon.On October 14 an email was sent out noting the shortage of drive instructors and stated a call down list would be created for those students nearing expiration. I have not received any notifications since. I called yesterday and informed the caller that my daughter has received a notice in regards to expiration when attempting to schedule a drive time. The caller assured me that she would be fine and should be able to schedule drive times in January. She also of course directed me to the site and requested that my daughter check the site daily at noon. I said well since she's in school, I'll have to check the site daily. So of course I log in to the site today and received the same past course expiration that my daughter received. I would strongly advise other parents to look elsewhere for their child's driving school needs. I have NEVER written an email to a company or left a bad review. However my experience with this company has proved to be so negative, I felt the need to warn others.

Do not take your child to this school !!! They will charge you for drive times , you NEVER even signed up for. It's a racket !!!
