Ms. Menace was rude and picked on Students in an attempt to be funny in the classroom. Total bully.

I really like it as a student, this coming from last year though, so I don't know if something has changed there or not. My experience from last year was pretty great as we were given a book but the teacher just explained it is and barely read from it which didn't make us feel bored as hell, and after the first week taking the test we watched some videos on certain stuff even some I didn't know about. And yes we did learn about boating safety, even though we're far away from any ocean but near some lakes and chances of driving a boat is when I get a Lamborghini for Christmas. But still the teacher I had told us the story of how it happened and it was pretty sad of how it actually happened. But I digress, when it was time for drive-time(s) I didn't have any problems with it as none were sick and all of the instructors were nice and polite(this is from last year though, so again I don't know if anything changed last summer) When it came into the classrooms again after the first week we basically just talk about the basics of driving and going into little details but also the teacher talked about driving stories in the past whether it was accidents or occurrence etc... anyway I really enjoyed that as it just wasn't 3 weeks in 2 hour classrooms being bored out of our minds, and just waiting the 3 weeks to be over. So yeah in my experience last summer of 2016 was really a positive one, I really had no problems with it and I found it quite entertaining when the teacher told us stories about driving and sometimes sacred the heck out of me. So in all of the "Sears' driving school" in Denton, I found it quite good PS my main teacher(s) in the classroom were Ms. Summer and and Mr. Seghetti (sorry if I spelt it wrong if you are reading this) and they also my driving time instructors as well PPS so I don't know if there was a change of hats or what, but being a student last summer in there I found it quite enjoyable from the experience and remember i don't know if anything changed or what but My experience was a good one . My daughter became bored in the classroom phase when the instructors started talking about boat and airplane safety. She came to learn about car driving rules and safety. The instructors also had her spend a lot of the class time reading the book and not discussing the material. She did OK in the classroom and did pass her written test. After much hassle with the Denton DPS, we finally got her leaners' permit. Her first day of driving was her first time ever behind the wheel of the car. The 2-hour time was cut back to one hour because the observer was out sick that day. She was not given much time to get used to the car and was told I needed to spend a lot of time familiarizing her with a car. Today was her second day and we were told not to come back until I had taught her all the basics. This after paying $400 or so for the entire class. The instructors do this as a part-time gig. My daughter's current instructor said she could not continue teaching my daughter because she had to work customer service and that we really could not be guaranteed a spot after we wait the couple of weeks we are told we had to wait, to resume the class. Terrible experience and a total waste of time rip-off. Rude and unprofessional, really disturbing to have these people around children. For your $400 you do not get much in return. They will show videos in the classroom. Nobody is teaching kids to drive. I am not able to schedule a driving lesson for my daughter because they are "short of instructor who is very sick". I asked to ask to talk to the manager. Apparently, the manager should be on medications as well, for he started yelling at me that he is ashamed of me that I am not sympathetic to his employees. Well, it's true, I was rather expecting business, not a charity donation for something they cannot deliver. Going to contact BBB and Sears Driving School headquarters, hopefully, they can arrange anger management course for their employees. Read Less
