First off, with many years in the emergency services business, I have witnessed first hand what happens at accident scenes and the aftermath that effects families moving forward. Both our kids were "parent taught" and time had come for our second to take her road test. DPS was booked through 2018. We came upon this driving school and booked a road test. The facility was clean and inviting. I have seen some that look like they were put together in a laundry room. This is NOT the case here! Mr. Lonnie came out to give our daughter her road test. I learned in speaking with him he has experience as a teacher. This is important and a plus for me, because someone who has a professional history in education, knows how to impart the knowledge in a positive and accepting manner. Mr. Lonnie came out and introduced himself to our daughter. He took the time to explain the road test process and get to know her a bit even before heading out to the car. This is important because we all remember taking our road test, or any test for that matter. There is a bit of stress and apprehension in the unknown of the process and desire to do well. The key to good drivers is: education, practice, experience and removing distractions. I consider unnecessary stress a distraction. Mr. Lonnie addressed it head on so the actual road test was a positive experience no matter how the skills exam ended. After the initial interaction, he asked if she was ready and they went out for a vehicle safety inspection. More discussion inside between the two of them, and shortly, they were off! During the test, I watched he interaction between other parents, students and instructors. As the school car arrived back from a lesson, the instructors were polite and greeted the parents in a cordial and professional manner. A review of the days lesson was provided, but the instructor also asked how the student was doing with their practice at home with the parent. This is important because with any good instruction, feedback to the instructor is just as important as delivering the learning to the student. Upon return, we received the results of the road test, which was successful. Mr. Lonnie took the time to also tell us how much he enjoyed meeting with our daughter and how she carried herself both skill wise driving, and interpersonally. Like I stated early, we did not use the driving school for classroom sessions, but based on what I experienced personally, as well as what I watched and heard in exchanges with others was VERY pleasant and worthy of my recommendation. The facility was nice, the schools vehicles were not Junkers or ill kept. Very well marked and looked to be very well maintained. But above all, the staff we met with were all the best! Read Less
