They were somewhat helpful when we needed to add time, though we still had to pay. Drive times almost impossible to schedule online. Will schedule when you call, but of course you have to reach them...
They were somewhat helpful when we needed to add time, though we still had to pay. Drive times almost impossible to schedule online. Will schedule when you call, but of course you have to reach them for that to happen - which is rare.

The online website lessons are very helpful, but scheduling drives is an absolute nightmare. I keep checking daily for available times within the next 2-3 weeks, but there aren't any drives available....
The online website lessons are very helpful, but scheduling drives is an absolute nightmare. I keep checking daily for available times within the next 2-3 weeks, but there aren't any drives available. This was a complete waste of $500.

Very friendly and helpful signing up, after that you are cut loose and on your own! HORRIBLE customer service!! Attempted to schedule my sons final driving exam with them, interestingly enough it was ...
Very friendly and helpful signing up, after that you are cut loose and on your own! HORRIBLE customer service!! Attempted to schedule my sons final driving exam with them, interestingly enough it was just as quick to get it with the DPS!! They do not answer email in a timely matter, if at all!! Would not recommend!

Again I repeat, DO NOT USE SAFEWAY DRIVING SCHOOL!!! You will be much happier with Houston Area Driving School or another driving school in the area. TRASH ALERT!

Very few available drive times (even though they are PREPAID). Phone is rarely answered. Rude and unhelpful when a person actually does answer. Very frustrating experience. Do not use them!

My daughter did Safeway driving and she loved it. They help you get your permit and license and makes everything easy. The "there are never any drives available" rumor is not true, there are constantly plenty of drives posted and updated. Also, Jacob is a great driving instructor!

Having recently relocated to the Houston area, we were referred to Safeway by a friend who had a very positive experience. There are 2 components to the experience 1) The Online Course 2) The Training. The online course is very thorough and asks questions which encourage, in fact almost force, the student to be engaged - no multitasking. This is unique and has the result of getting the student to retain much of what is presented. In Texas, passing the test through Safeway also allows the student to bypass taking the test onsite at the DPS which is a huge advantage. As for the training, there is a high demand, and during high seasons (school vacation periods), scheduling drives can be difficult at the last second. That said, the office bends over backwards to assist in getting the drives scheduled, and are very understanding of scheduling complications. Plan ahead and engage them with a phone call - they are friendly. They have several locations centrally located. Most importantly, the educators are totally awesome! They have a systematic curriculum which makes instructors consistent and gets total beginners comfortable with the road quickly. They leverage modern-age technology to model various driving situations, and they preach being courteous on the road. What a concept! Having experienced schools in other states, and seen poor results from other options in Texas, Safeway is really, really good, and listens to their clients to get better.

Very friendly and helpful signing up, after that you are cut loose and on your own! HORRIBLE customer service!! My daughter did Safeway driving and she loved it. They help you get your permit and license and makes everything easy. The "there are never any drives available" rumor is not true, there are constantly plenty of drives posted and updated. Also, Jacob is a great driving instructor!
