I'm sure the live course is great. But I was enticed by the promise of the $25 online course advertised on their website. DON'T DO IT!!! The online class is given by another company, and it's awful. It works poorly. Twice, the "have you been listening" questions referred to slides that WERE NOT IN THE CLASS. After I missed the two questions I called customer service. Their response? Meh. Poor quality permeates the course. There are multiple links to videos; some work, some don't. The time you have to spend on each slide is wildly out of scale. You might have 30 seconds and 15 minutes for two pages of roughly similar link. Oh -- and the course is boooooooooo-ring! Right now the only reason I'm sticking with the course (rather than writing off the $25 and going with a better class) is that we get to leave a review with the State of Texas. Happy Time, I'm sure you're great. But don't give your credibility to GetDefensive. They're the worst. Read Less

After receiving the first traffic violation of my LIFE (yes, I will accept all compliments on my safe driving prowess), I was inspired to choose this particular school. Errol M.'s glowing review clinched it for me. In addition to the provided lunch. OK, it was mostly the lunch ;)I took the course offered on Saturday at the Saltgrass Steak House off I-35 in Round Rock. I think I may have inadvertently chosen the unfunny instructor. The good: They pretty much make sure you don't fail your test. I also completed an entire knitting project (baby booties! squee!). Lunch was good. I received a discount on my insurance (bonus!)The bad: It was a really LONG day, particularly when discussion devolved into the finer points of Texas's open carry law (obviously, that probably doesn't happen in every class, I was just "lucky"). TIPS: If you procrastinate, apparently you start receiving $5 off postcards in the mail. It's one of the few times in my life I wish I had procrastinated. Also, if you're a knitter, bring along a project. Not sure if that's entirely kosher, but with an easy enough project, you can easily follow along. Then you end up feeling halfway productive with your lost Saturday. Read Less

Went there on 1/9/2016 for a defensive driving class. The the instructor was pretty cool and funny. The videos however were really outdated and boring. If you keep notes during class then you should have no problem passing the course. The food was ok but warm by the time it got to me. You get different choices if you take the course at the salt grass in round rock. Overall, I think it was cool and the six hours went by somewhat fast. When they give you breaks it's not really a 10'minute break because he starts the timer then tells you to hand in the papers one by one. So, your breaks really are about 5-6 if your in the back of the line. Read Less

Saturday morning, my ONLY morning I am able to sleep as late as I desire, I dragged my butt out of bed to attend yet another defensive driving class. And I had signed up for another "comedy" one hoping to make it less miserable than it typically is. Being the phenominal, curteous driver that I am, I have taken "funny"  defensive driving courses before. They were NOT funny and I was NOT amused. So reluctantly I drove over to Joe's Crab Shack with coffee in hand and sleep still in my eyes. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised that it is right there over looking Lady Bird Lake. I was able to look at a beautiful view of the city for 6 hours and actually laugh the majority of the time. Nancy Reese is so, so, SO funny!! She was an absolute delight. Typically after a defensive driving class I feel like I've wasted an entire Saturday and am just depressed, haha. This was so enjoyable, I left smiling and happy. It was great. Actually learned lots of new things that the police department isn't sending memos out on. Shocking. Simply put: this was an enjoyable, humorous, informative class that I was happy I attended this past Saturday. So in the event that you get a ticket, take this class at Joe's Crab Shack, take it with Nancy Reese and you'll literally have a "Happy Time."Thank you to Happy Time and Nancy for such a wonderful day. That's so so weird to say about defensive driving, but nontheless sincere. I hope I never have to take this class agian, but if I do, I'm glad to know y'all are available. Read Less

Yesterday two teeth extracted.... Vicodin at the beginning of class....Great Class. So I had a great class. Very informative, very funny, and at a bar. Having lunch provided certainly helped. I showed up right in time, was greeted and found a seat next to another violator. She was 8 months pregnant and still got a ticket. Honestly though the mix of guys to gals favored the gals. After lunch we had some informative videos. Test review questions. And then the idiot driver proof test. All in all I'd recommend this as a healthy change to staring at a computer for four hours. Two weeks mail time to receive certificate. Add $15 for one week delivery. Add $25 overnight delivery.Worth every penny. Read Less
