I used Easy Street for their advanced review lesson and used their car for my road test. Juan was SO helpful and gave me excellent feedback and tips for improvement. Juan was very patient, knowledgeable, and experienced. I'm an adult learner who has been really nervous to drive in Austin and he was great at keeping me calm. WOW - I paid for driving school for my daughter, she has done two in-car driving sessions out of seven and I was inquiring as to getting her on the schedule. My experience with Easy Street Driving School was amazing! Planning lessons was effortless, and the lessons made me feel prepared to start driving on my own after passing the driving test. I was initially very nervous about driving, but Brenda helped me get over these fears and learn the skills necessary to drive safely. She also went out of her way to help me find a driving test appointment that wouldn't take place months after my lessons ended. Things you don't need living in Chicago:-A license (because they have great public transit)-A need to wear shorts before June (unless it's been single digits for a month and then gets to 40 one day)-Another Irish pub (there's a million of them)Things you need in Texas:-A license As an almost 30 year old I've never driven on a regular basis. I took the permit exam among a group of eager 15 year olds, then called Easy Street Driving School. Even though I'm in North Austin the reviews at ESD are great, so I decided to give them a call. Brenda has been my instructor and she's AWESOME! ESD offers a pick up and drop off service ($10 more) and you can drive around the neighborhoods you frequent/plan on driving by.I decided I wanted to take classes when my fiance had no idea how to teach me how to parallel park back in Chicago, but also because being newer to Austin I'm still getting used to the streets. Brenda has been so helpful and patient. She gives great feedback without making me feel like I'm a failure. But also stresses the importance of practicing on your own time, and practicing with a purpose. She gives me things to work on between lessons and I think that's great. Another positive is that Brenda will listen to what you want to work on. For me, highway driving is something I want to practice on. Imagine my surprise and slight horror when she calmly tells me "now turn here, we're about to go on the highway"! Her confidence in my ability to handle new situations helps me become a better driver. My confidence as a driver has increased so much since working with ESD, and I know I'll be getting my license soon! I cannot recommend ESD enough. Read Less

In short, Easy Street is incredible. I grew up overseas so did not get my license until the ripe age of 24...I had taken some classes in Washington, D.C, before coming to Austin but was not able to get my license there. I took my first certificate class with Easy Street and then Behind the Wheel classes, and also got ready for my skills test with Brenda. They were awesome in all aspects: courteous, honest, flexible, and all around just amazing teachers. Brenda was patient with me and made sure to form my lessons to what she thought I needed improvement on (based on the lesson before!). My first test, I did not pass... and definitely not because of something that Easy Street could've helped me with-I had a total brain fart moment. When I failed I was devastated, and the DPS tester told me that it was that one mistake that cost me the test.Brenda helped me regain my confidence, and on my second try I passed with flying colors! The DPS tester that day told me that my test was really good, and I got a 98/100! I felt like Miss Brenda was just as happy as I was! She really cares about her students. I will not miss the stress of getting ready for a road test. I will, however, miss my weekly chit chats with Brenda, but definitely plan on keeping in touch-she truly is such a great person!Miss Brenda and Mr. Juan are wonderful people and teachers, there is nothing else to say here. My 19 year old just finished the classroom portion for driving and was ready for some behind the wheel experience. Most of the other schools had long waiting lists for behind the wheel. Easy Street was able to accommodate all his lessons within a three week period which was great! During the driving portion my son began to lose some confidence and was extremely nervous. Brenda noticed and suggested to reduce the amount of driving time and which added an additional day. This really helped him and he felt better about driving. They were very flexible with scheduling and extremely patient. He hasn't taken the driving test yet but Easy Street was worth it, I would recommend it! Read Less

As an adult learning to drive for the first time at the age of 25, I was simply TERRIFIED. Juan and Brenda are excellent instructors who are extremely patient and encouraging. They take notes on your weaknesses and have their lessons focused on those areas until you get it down. They are relaxed enough to allow you to make mistakes and learn from them but are also quick to prevent any mishaps. I appreciated that they were asking me questions and raised my awareness of things to look out for so I could develop the thought processes needed for safe driving. These 2 instructors aim not to teach you how to pass your driver's test but to make you safe drivers, which should be what every driving school is about. I would definitely send anyone I know who is terrified of driving to them. They are absolutely a joy to learn from and are so willing to work around your schedule. Read Less
