Hey Everyone, I would like to respond to the complaints about not being able to get an appointment. I'm a Fort Mill mom who has had first hand experience with this issue because I answer the phones and manage the office at 911. This time of year is extremely busy under normal circumstances because schools are getting out, kids are ready for summer jobs and suddenly driving is a priority for everyone. On top of that, the DMV is reporting that every driving school in the count...y is currently facing a massive influx of students, which is due to the schools are no longer providing driver's education. I'm sure this is frustrating for everyone, but as a mom, I'd like to tell you how important it is to take a breath. You get one chance to do this right, and your child's life is on the line. I have 2 sons, both having completed the program here. My youngest son Zach is at college in Orlando surrounded by Disney World traffic and I sleep beautifully at night knowing that he is an excellent driver. My oldest son, Jacob, is at USC and was rear ended a few months ago - he was stopped at a traffic light and a young girl, uninsured and probably texting, plowed into his car at 40 miles per hour, pushing his car under the Mac truck that was stopped ahead of him. The car was totaled and we are grateful Jacob is ok. There is no reason to speed through drivers ed. Sadly,I see a lot of parents that are just tired of driving their kid around and want them to get licensed as soon as possible. This is a mistake. Your kid can learn how to pass the test, but what these instructors are teaching them is how to stay alive. They are the absolute best, because they see the accidents and know what causes them. It could be something as simple as not looking over your shoulder before changing lanes. The reality check is that it should take a few months to get through this course. It's not about the appointments, it's about the practice. Let your child drive as much as possible, and every hour you give him behind the wheel is going to help him build good habits that will keep him alive. I can hear you already: "We do drive all the time and my kid is completely ready, it's just a requirement that he has drivers ed so we signed up and want to get through NOW because he's got a summer job." Then you should have planned ahead. This is too important. See More Read Less
