The best, most patient and fun loving instructor I have ever had! I scheduled my lessons with Samantha who was a delight to talk to and made scheduling really simple. She even worked around my schedule so that I get the best possible time considering my 9-5 job. Greg, my instructor, is super patient and fun!! he makes you comfortable and driving fun! I am a female in my late 20s and never felt that I was too late in learning how to drive. All you as a learner have to do is DO... AS HE SAYS and you will be good for life! He gives these little overview of what we did in a session which is super helpful. I really love those. These a good refresher if there is gap between your learning and actually starting to drive. He has a ton of knowledge where driving is concerned and the best part, he shares it so that you learn from them!! I got my DL in my first attempt which was easy peasy with his instructions. I did not have any extra hours of driving, just the classes with him and all I did was do what he taught me and I had my license. My advise to all: Trust him !! Even when he says speed up! He knows what he is doing! See More

My daughter took driving lessons from Hammerly's back in 2007. A facebook advertisement just popped up in my news feed, and I remembered them immediately. Amanda was a very nervous driver, and the well-planned, personalized instruction was very helpful. I highly recommend their services.

The owner of Hammerly's, Greg, was my driving instructor. I am one of those "older" drivers and didn't have any driving experience. In a short period of time he taught me how to drive so that, in the end, I was able to pass the DMV driving test on my first attempt.
He is competent, has a lot of experience and can explain how to handle various driving situations both before they happen and while they happen.
Greg is also punctual, flexible when handling your appointments and also an awesome person!

I just passed my drive test in the first attempt thanks to the amazing instructor, Greg ! I took a 5 lesson package and kept practising in between the sessions in my own vehicle using all the techniques Greg taught me. Every lesson was well planned and Greg took me learning driving to all kind of scenarios like countryside, residential areas, freeways and downtown portland. He knows his work well and you can expect nothing but a great driving teacher with all the necessary skills like patience, getting adjusted as per the student's behavior out of him. He will take pictures, videos and show your driving and and if any correction to be made. He will also give study materials with diagrams so that you understand roads, turns, curbs and parking better.Thanks to Greg i cleared my driving test in first attempt.. i highly recommend everyone this driving school !

A little over two months ago, I had barely ever spent more than an hour behind the wheel my entire life (I'm 34... eek, I know). I am so thankful I found Greg at Great NW Driver's! He took my irrational fear of driving and made me feel comfortable from the very first lesson. He was incredibly informative as well as supportive, very personable! I had never thought that I would consider myself as a driver, and here I am today with my license and about to buy my first car! Thank you, Greg, for helping me get my self esteem back!

I finally am getting around to write a review for Greg and Lorna (His mother). Greg has helped me get over the biggest embarrassment of my life- not knowing how to drive at 33!Greg has a very pleasant personality. He is patient, thorough at explaining and good sense of humor- all the attributes an educator must have to encourage and inspire (I wish my high school chemistry teacher was more like him, would have done better in class!). All the sessions were well planned and ended with a review. I did one session with Lorna (Greg's mom). Different teaching style but equally good! I always remember Greg's "Targeting" and Lorna's "Bike eyes!!!" when I am driving. Passed my driving test in first attempt. Quite freeing to not depend on anyone to drive me around. I owe my new found freedom to Greg! I would highly recommend them to anyone without a doubt.

I had Greg as my driving instructor. Within a few classes he turned me from a beginner to a licensed driver! His lessons are very well planned. Every lesson has a "theme" sort of, where you learn different techniques and drive on different types of roads (from country, city to freeway). His excellent driving tips are easy to remember, very practical and actually help! He always had these anecdotes to explain things and it felt like learning from others' experiences! Greg was very punctual and flexible about my timings. He was considerate enough to give me few hours of extra practice before my final driving test. If you want to "study" driving, like actually go in details and basics of it, Greg is your guy! :).

Just passed my driving test in the first attempt. thanks to Greg. Amazing instructor. His classes not only cover the drive test but all possible driving scenarios like country roads, downtown one way roads etc. He uses mordern technology to teach e.g. using an extended camera to take videos of turns or to show you how far you are from parked cars, white line etc. He provides driver ed sheets prior every class. Greg is extremely calm and makes driving seem super easy.

Well, that's really unforgotable exprience of learning driving with Greg's instruction. Clear, patient, encouraging, optimistic, all these helped me understand the driving skill and atititute from an entirely new driver. I never thought I can do things so fast before I meet Greg, especially under a different language environment. Recommending with my full honest, appreciation and respect.

GREG was my driving instructor. He is VERY knowledgeable, knows his stuff very well, is patient, kind, funny, personable. He goes into so much detail and tells you exactly what you need to know about driving. He would give me sheets of paper which I could take home and take a look at anytime for review. None of my previous instructors did that. By far, he is the best instructor I ever had. He was more than a mentor. I always looked forward to our lessons. I'm not kidding. If you are looking for a top-notch driving instructor, GREG is the guy to go to.

I'm an experienced driver but didn't know how to drive a manual transmission. Greg taught me to drive a stick in no time. He is super patient. I was a disaster at our first lesson and killed the engine nearly a bazillion times. He didn't ask me to do anything I wasn't comfortable with and was very aware and understanding of anxieties I might have. Great experience, learned to drive stick in two sessions.

We recently used Hammerly's Great NW Drivers to help our son get more comfortable behind the wheel. It was a great experience! Greg is very professional, knowledgeable and relates well with kids. My son got 100% on his drive test and we plan on using this company again in a few months when our daughter starts to drive!

The best, most patient and fun loving instructor I have ever had! I scheduled my lessons with Samantha who was a delight to talk to and made scheduling really simple. The owner of Hammerly's, Greg, was my driving instructor. I am one of those "older" drivers and didn't have any driving experience. In a short period of time he taught me how to drive so that, in the end, I was able to pass the DMV driving test on my first attempt.
He is competent, has a lot of experience and can explain how to handle various driving situations both before they happen and while they happen.
Greg is also punctual, flexible when handling your appointments and also an awesome person!

A little over two months ago, I had barely ever spent more than an hour behind the wheel my entire life (I'm 34... eek, I know). I am so thankful I found Greg at Great NW Driver's! He took my irrational fear of driving and made me feel comfortable from the very first lesson. He was incredibly informative as well as supportive, very personable! I had never thought that I would consider myself as a driver, and here I am today with my license and about to buy my first car! Thank you, Greg, for helping me get my self esteem back!

I finally am getting around to write a review for Greg and Lorna (His mother). Greg has helped me get over the biggest embarrassment of my life- not knowing how to drive at 33!Greg has a very pleasant personality. Well, that's really unforgotable exprience of learning driving with Greg's instruction. Clear, patient, encouraging, optimistic, all these helped me understand the driving skill and atititute from an entirely new driver. I never thought I can do things so fast before I meet Greg, especially under a different language environment. Recommending with my full honest, appreciation and respect.

GREG was my driving instructor. He is VERY knowledgeable, knows his stuff very well, is patient, kind, funny, personable. He goes into so much detail and tells you exactly what you need to know about driving. He would give me sheets of paper which I could take home and take a look at anytime for review. None of my previous instructors did that. By far, he is the best instructor I ever had. He was more than a mentor. I always looked forward to our lessons. I'm not kidding. If you are looking for a top-notch driving instructor, GREG is the guy to go to.

I'm an experienced driver but didn't know how to drive a manual transmission. Greg taught me to drive a stick in no time. He is super patient. I was a disaster at our first lesson and killed the engine nearly a bazillion times.
