Great school. Some of the equipments old but in reality that’s probably a good thing. If you can drive the old stuff, it makes hopping in a new model a piece of cake. My classroom experience was great Don is a cool guy, we watch vidoes and A LOT of Indiana Jack videos. As for being in the yard only bad thing is if you doing summer classes get ready cuz it's gonna be HOT only 1 shead had A/C. Out of the instructors only 1 of them was highly disliked by the students. But if you don't have the money to pay for school Hamrick is recommended due to financial aid. Read Less

I went to this school 2015. Instructors were amazing and very knowledgeable. Gave me all the tools I needed to be a successful driver. I got a job with Dutch Maid Logistics right out of school in Willard Ohio. I've been with them a little over 2 years now. I have met other Hamrick graduates and due to our training at this school we are all top drivers. If looking for a good place to work once you graduate check out Dutch Maid. I found the overall quality of instruction to be excellent. The instructors generally have multiple decades behind the wheel and genuinely want to pass that knowledge on to a new generation of drivers. The rest of the staff were also great to deal with and responsive to my questions/needs. The one complaint I have (and it's a big one) is the condition of the equipment. The fleet of trucks is quite old and in dire need of better maintenance or replacement. Despite this one issue I feel I gained the knowledge and experience I need to begin my new career as a commercial truck driver. Read Less

Hattie Hughes I was a mother of 4 small children working a dead end job. I came to Hamrick School which at that time was 160 hours. Every day I would say I'm never ever going to get this well the instructors trained me and I got it I went and tested on October 30, 1097. I passed. I knew nothing at this time about the trucking industry but with a qualified placement person again at Hamrick School found me a job, I had things in my passed but Hamrick School never ever tur…ned their backs on me. Many years had past I was hurt on the job and for almost 2 years of going to many doctors, and having surgery then physics therapy. BBR sent me to Hamrick School for bus training, I passed my test. Denver Hamrick walked up to me and said you came here for your class a and you got your bus would you like to work here. After many year at Hamrick, we have new owners, I felt truly blessed working for the past owner and just as blessed working the new owner. I had a good experience at Hamrick. The instructors are knowledgable, helpful and take a genuine interest in the success of their students, many of them having a real passion for teaching. The Career Services staff are equally interested in the student's success, doing whatever they can on an individual basis to help with job placement. I attended Hamrick in the winter of 2015. It was a difficult transitional period for the school, as it had become under new ownership inherit…ing many issues that would have to be resolved. There were times when I had wished that things were done differently, sometimes wondering if I made the right decision in choosing this school. Many changes have been made since then, including better instruction in the classroom and yard, the addition of more good instructors, new trucks and future plans of making improvements in the yard. I can see that the new owners of the school are trying to make significant changes to the school program and to the school itself in order to improve the quality of the education that they are providing. I'm glad that I made the decision to go to Hamrick, receiving a good education and meeting many good people.
