Completed TDDS 2016....went there all the way from Los Angeles California for thier driver program and stayed at the dorms (knew I probably wouldn't complete it if I stayed home). Staff made me feel comfortable with the adjustment. Great instructors, and if you don't know what G.O.A.L stands for, Rick (an A1 instrctor) is gonna make sure to tell you. Left there feeling really confident. I also still get help from them regarding transcripts and also information regarding jobs from their placement coordinator, Ms Tish (never too busy although they keep her busy) ....all in all, great experience. Good people, and good program. If you care, guaranteed , they will Read Less

TDDS is an amazing school. When I came to the school first I had two of my close friends recommend it since it offers weekend classes. I work throughout the week and it just amazes me about how much you actually learn here at TDDS. All the instructors are very knowledgeable since they all have been over the road. It’s amazing the knowledge you have to know just to drive a truck all the rules and regulations, you get what you put in. If you just sit there and play around you won’t learn nothing, ask questions, be the first to do something and you learn a lot. Everyone at the school is very friendly, the training in itself is worth the money. I can’t say thanks enough to my friends who recommended this school, I also can’t thank my instructors enough in helping me achieve my life long dream. Thank you TDDS Read Less

TDDS Diesel Tech program. With this school your going to get out of it what you put into it. Its opened great opportunities for me. The instructors are very knowledgeable and very helpful. Its practical training you can take with you and apply it. If your a student that doesn't apply yourself and doesn't ask questions your not going to get the most out of the of the program ask for knowledge. Ask to do more stuff while going through the program they will most likely allow you to doit. Maximize your training. The cons are equipment is out dated, Some of the curriculum there is nothing to work on to go with it, during the CDL portion while practicing your maneuvers you cant practice with the road trucks but you will still be fine if you actually practice. Good program to jump start your career does it have flaws of course but your going to have that anywhere. If you want hands on training this is the place. If I had to guess id say 20% classroom 80% shop. Read Less

I took the 2 month course...I started at the end of September and got my Class A in December. The instructors were awesome because I had never driven anything with a manual transmission let alone a Rig with a sleeper but I will never forget my instructor telling me that I was gonna be his best student cause I didn't have any bad habits and he was right. My two other classmates who were in my group on road days...who also had previous commercial driving experience were struggling to double shift and down shift properly. Only things I did not like about the school is that I feel like they force you to work for a certain trucking company in order to graduate fully from the school and the yard equipment and road trucks are really out dated. I spent all my road days and my night driving in 9(A) speed and then when it was time to take my state test I was put in a 10 speed so I was all screwed up when it was time to shift to 6th gear but it all worked out. Thank You TDDS!!!! Read Less

In class instructor thought he knew everything about truck driving. Road instructor fell asleep and then would yell at you for not turning. Equipment didn't prepare me for trucking.

I spent five weeks here from December through January of 2014-15. By February I was lucky enough to find a position with a Union shop and life isn't too bad. The training I received, the basics, was enough to get you safely behind the wheel; the rest is up to you. Pay attention in class and actually study when you go home. ;) The training equipment is junk. So what. You're only learning to backup. Get over it. They're not going to get brand new equipment for amateurs to tear up. They could tighten the mirrors so you can see better while backing (hint, hint). The training road trucks are fine. --------- Never settle for less than you're worth!! Read Less

Been in school for 15 weeks and still haven't received our tools, tool boxes, laptops. Administration side of the school is awful. Still haven't received our Pell grant money. Not enough equipment for the 14 students in the class. Students show up late to school, come back late from lunch and leave early and don't get docked any points. Don't get told what your GPA is. School doesn't have enough tools in the garage for all of class to compete tasks. Training videos are from the 1980s, the parking lot has pot holes all over, lunch room is filthy, shop floods, everyone gets same grade if they just show up, lots of standing around. School only cares about getting your money and not about the education. The tool box that you pay for, can't hold the tools properly. It's a small 27 inch tool cart Read Less
