Instructor Paul brought different car on the test day than the one I practiced on. Every one emphasises on giving the test on the same car you practiced on. The car my instructor brought on test day was really old and in poor condition. It barely accelerated and I had to push break twice to stop. Extremely expensive lessons and they don't teach you much either. Just basics. Really poor service. I'd recommend going with another school if you can. And I didn't pass the test but was able to pass the test on my own car a few weeks later. Read Less

My wife and I completed our 5 hour course, a private lesson and the driving test here. Everything went very smooth and slick. We both have a German driving licence since the mid-1990s so I would say we're experienced drivers. Nevertheless to get the NY licence we chose a private lesson to make sure we get thru the road test on the first attempt - and it was definitely worth it. Our instructor Craig pointed out the things that are important on the road test and also refreshed our knowledge and pointed out little habits that have crept in over two decades of driving. He picked up very quickly the things we were already good at and focused on the thing that needed improving. I can only recommend Craig if you're looking for a brilliant instructor. I just passed my road test and it is all thanks to the best instructor Paul. Parallel parking is challenging to everybody but he made it seem so simple. His parallel park technique is super easy which makes you feel even more confident when it is time to take the test. He would make you feel comfortable in the car the moment you go in. Golden Crown Driving School is an excellent resource to prepare for the road test and driving in general. My instructor Dave was amazing and without him, I'm not sure I would have passed my road test. It was clear that he genuinely wanted me to succeed and he did everything he could to prepare me. In our lessons he brought me on to roads that were out of my comfort zone but I was never scared. He made me feel at ease and that was one of the greatest feelings especially considering I had been so hesitant to start driving in the first place. I highly recommend Craig! He was a great teacher for me, because he focused on making me drive "in the real world", pay attention to road signs, street names, and not just follow instructions like a zombie. I passed my test within 3 minutes and the examiner was surprised to hear that this is my first license. Golden Crown is by far the best place to go to for driving lessons, especially if your instructor is Craig. He's the best in Westchester and will certainly have you ready for your road test. Just passed my road test today. Mr. Paul Stokes is a great teacher. He is a very nice guy, and I always felt safe driving with him. He really helps you get comfortable with everything you will need on the road test (parallel parking, 3-point turn, turning at an intersection, etc.) and for driving in general (driving on the highway, changing lanes - even driving using a GPS!). I had multiple lessons with Paul, and also one lesson with Mr. Craig King, who was also a very good teacher.
