I highly recommend AAAA to anyone who's looking to take driving lessons. I've been learning a lot on how to drive and I'm only progressing, thanks to this place. Lashon is a really awesome instructor who's really chill, funny, patient and is also teaching me really well. The office staff is also really friendly and will go out of their way to help you with anything you need. Even though I actually worked in the office for a very brief period of time since I felt I wasn't really suited to work there, they're all really nice there. I'd definitely look no further than coming here to learn how to drive! Read Less

I have friends who have gone to AAAA for their CDL B program. They said, Sebastian was really good and he enjoys teaching. That said, I would have given this school five stars, but that's because my experience didn't involve Sebastian. Instead, I wanted to train for my CDL A. Now, I am not here to complain. In fact, despite my reservations about the CDL A program, which to be honest was less than I expected, and because I was going by what my friends told me about the CDL B program. They said, "Go to AAAA. They have the best trainers. Sebastian is the best and because of him, I was able to pass my CDL B on the first try." Again, I am not here to complain, but I know that there's room for improvement. Perhaps, one day,, AAAA Driving school will address its problems with the CDL A program and guarantee what they state on paper. I mean, look at it this way, the school is the only reputable CDL A program in Staten Island, its conveniently located, they speak English, and they have reasonable prices compared to the competition. So if you're going for your CDL B, go with AAAA because you won't regret it. But if your'e going for your CDL A, I suggest that you go elsewhere! Good luck! Read Less

Sebastian is one of the best instructors I ever had. The way he explains and breaks down driving techniques is so great, it makes any fears you have of driving just go away almost instantaneously. By the time I had my fourth lesson, I already felt like I can drive the School Bus like my normal car, which Sebastian also taught me to drive! I definitely recommend coming here if you need any expert help in learning how to drive. Read Less

This driving school was good until it came down to giving my daughter the date for her road test. They tried getting $49 out of her because the day of the road test they were giving an extra lesson. She signed up for the Licence X package which included 7 lessons and an extra one the day of the test. Well one of her lessons she had to cancel the day of the lesson because she has a 4 month baby at home and no one was able to watch the baby that day, that wasn't her fault. The ...driving school considers that a late cancellation and since the driver was already on his way that she needed to include that day in her 7 lesson package which is ridiculous because she didn't get a lesson that day. I think that's very unfair and I recommend anyone who is using this driving school to be aware of this. The only reason why she told me to put 2 stars was because she likes her driving instructor, he is a good teacher. but what a rip off this school is! See More Read Less

I decided to try AAAA driving school after this. I had two instructors after this and both of them didn't help me much. I took my test again and left with 50 points! After this I knew I needed a lot of work. This school suggested Robert. At first I was a little intimidated because he pointed out so many errors I was unaware of. Mind you him and his brother both took their 5 hr class together. My husband paid first for a fast appointment, and his new date is over another week away. His brother got the day he was FIRST given-make sense?? Terry if you mess up you are required to take the wrath of an upset customer and try to fix it, not belittle and  act condescending. Surprised you have this phone job- you must own as I see the way you run this mess and don't own up to a simple mistake. Horrible! Read Less

Driving schools have always seemed seedy to me but I had to go to one to obtain my CDL. The whole process started with me heading to the main office on Richmond Avenue first where I met with a few typical Staten Island women. Out of the three only one acknowledged I was standing there and got me started on my paperwork. I don't remember her name but she was really sweet and explained all the packages available and also explained the whole process from starting the driving lessons to whatever fees might have to be paid to the DMV.If you're ever in need of a CDL and already have a regular drivers license I'd suggest you get the smallest or cheapest package because driving a truck is just like driving a car except for different safety precautions and laws. No need for a 20 lesson package unless you got the money to burn. After paying for my package in full I was able to schedule my appointments with one of the instructors who I can't remember what his name was but reminded me a lot like Tony Soprano. He gave me everything I needed to know to pass the road test and was patient during the learning process as far the annoying pre trip inspection to different truck maneuvers. Right before the road test we went along the actual route that I'd use for the test to get familiar with it so I wouldn't be surprised with the DMV representative. This helped a lot. I knew every sign and every turn before I took the road test. Thanks to the ppl over at AAAA I was able to pass my CDL B with all endorsements on the first try! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE Read Less

This is my first review on yelp and I implore anyone that is reading this to NOT go to this school. I have proof that I paid $449 for the 7 lesson package with the car and 1 lesson on the day of the road test! Several Reasons Why This Is A HORRIBLE PLACE1. Horrible Scheduling for the Road Test - They couldn't schedule for months for the road test. When I say months - It took them 2 months for them to schedule me a road test. By that time, my driving lessons ended and therefore, I would have a difficult time. 2. Horrible Class Scheduling - They gave me a road test date right after my 3rd lesson when I didn't know how to parallel park yet. In addition, the girl over the phone told me on a FRIDAY before the test on following MONDAY that it was scheduled for that day. She also told me over the phone specifically "I HAVE TO FIND A DRIVER" for that day. B!@#%, don't schedule me for an exam when you don't have a driver to take me there for the exam. She also told me tough luck and I had to take it at Father Cappadano when I specifically requested another road test place. They also do not always remind you of your lessons.  3. Horrible Instructors - I had Mike D. as my first instructor. Though he's nice, he's not going to teach to PASS the exam! No sorry! He's here to watch you drive. That's it. I didn't know that you had to stop twice on a red stop sign until I signed up for another driving school because my experience here was that horrible. I had Ken for my last instructor, the day before the exam. He was an ABOMINATION. Not only was he condescending but also rude and brusque. He had no patience and called me an idiot. No wonder why his schedule was free for the whole day. He also tried convincing me to sign up another class the very same day. 4. Nasty Unkempt Car - The school typically uses a 98 Camry or Corolla. Jim, my last instructor that took me to the road test site, found out the radio broke on the day of exam. Granted it was a radio. What if it was my brakes?! When I say nasty. I mean real nasty. It hasn't been cleaned in decades. Soot and dirt everywhere. It's worse than my father's 98 honda in which he smoked regularly. MY FINAL THOUGHTS - AVOID THIS SCHOOL. I implore you to avoid this school! I have receipts and credit card statements as proof that I went to this horrible school. The package I bought from them was called the License X Program. $449 - Completely horrible. The girl that I dealt was named Jackee. She's so sweet and charming but don't fall for her tactics! Update: Prices without the package that I bought: 5 Hour Class - $50 (Don't pay this ridiculous price. Go to another school for this.) 1 Hour Lesson - $46 (Beware, depending on instructor, it may not be one full hour as it claims! Chris, actually asked me to stop at one point during the lesson and spoke to his neighbor for 15 minutes straight. Lack of respect!)Fast Road Test Appointment - $95Please also be aware that this school goes under different names: AAA Driving School of Staten Island (I remember they used this name when I was in high school) AAAA Driving School of Staten Island Secure Driving School Secure Auto School They have a Brooklyn location as well. Still, Avoid! Read Less

I had lessons with this school a couple years back,  starting in 2013, I was a first time driver and my instructor, was a D**k,  he would yell at me for not driving correctly and was on his phone half the time,  He spoke in a monotone and never gave me any tips on any of the road test sites after asking him how they are and what I should avoid doing,  he did not teach me the right way in parallel parking,  either,  that's what made me fail my road test,  he said that was the "easiest method" and that that's what hell give me.  I had several lessons with this guy and he was just not enjoyable  I had NO CONFIDENCE in my driving,  five hour was boring and actually I zoned out.  I have no idea what went on,  everyone there doesn't give a crap about you and wants $$$.  I accepted that if failed the first road test,  because lack of  proper training on the instructors behalf.  I then again in 2014 decided to do another lessons package,  with a lady,  I don't know her name but  she was monotone and in her world like she didn't care,  she was quiet and if I made a mistake, she'd say "uhm you did____"  I'd say,  Okay so how do I fix it to make it perfect?  "oh maybe if you listen to what I'm saying you'd get the hang of it" ...  I was then just really fed up with the school,  I even asked her the day of my road test,  "do you think I'm ready, ?"  she shrugged her shoulders,  I FAILED AGAIN, this time it wasn't my fault it was actually the testers,  they had me change lanes last minute and I ended up hitting the curb of the divider.  This school is bullshit.  Now a year later I took my 5 hour and I'm Currently taking lessons, at Island driving school,  this is the best school ever!  Five hour with Bob was super interesting, gave amazing tips,  friendly and funny and my instructor for lessons, is hilarious!  Does mock road tests with me,  and if I make a mistake,  he politely explains in detail how to correct it and be flawless,  I feel so much more confident now in my driving skills and ill be taking my road test soon,  I have a big feeling I'll pass, ( but you never know haha)..  GOD forbid I do fail,  I wouldn't blame it on the school or instructors but my self,  cause this school has done everything they can so far to make sure I will pass.  Please go to Island driving!  Save you a headache!  Screw you AAAA!!! Avoid this place at all costs. I never gave any place a bad review but i had to tell others of this horror house. I cant comment on the driving practice but the place on Richmond ave where i did the 5 hour course is torture. Extremely rude, the place is dirty and filled with junk. The guy flicking through accident shots on a TV for 5 hours (Raymond Rosa) was one of the most horrible instructors you can encounter. While on break in front many couldn't believe it. The instructor made no sense and thought he was the top authority in this field. And made sure you knew this about 10,000 times in 5 hours. I wouldnt go back if they paid me, instead of me them. Thats how bad it was. Once 5 hour course is completed the nightmare didnt end. If you have to call for anything at all you will get someone who is extremely rude and doesnt want to check your name to see what time appointment is. I actually got hung up on twice before i reached one that looked it up. What a nightmare. NYS shouldn't allow a place like this to qualify to instruct anything. Is it possible to pass driving school classes and the road test but still not get your driving license? AAAA Driving School proved it is possible that, after spending hundreds of dollars on classes and driving lessons, you can not only not get your driver's license after passing the road test but actually lose your learner's permit, too! They filled out official DMV paperwork incorrectly and, after waiting for two months for them to corret their error, they still have not gotten their act together. Ineptitude, incompetence and unresponsiveness are the prevailing work ethic at AAAA Driving School. Dozens of phone calls and a couple of certified letters later, the owner still has not replied and theproblem has not been solved. I am taking them to Small Claims Court but do you really want to run the risk of dealing with this disreputable business.Driver Beware..........AAAA Driving School receives an F. Read Less

Good luck!

I just got home from the US Navy, and I started taking driving lessons from AAAA driving school on Staten Island, my instructor was this guy Sabatian- He was pestering me for tips and gas money, each lesson is 46 dollars for the hour. He was telling me sob stories about how he lost all his money. I am  collecting unemployment living with very little money. I could barely afford the driving lessons as it is and this professional driving instructor is begging me for extra cash. Not only that he made me park in parking lots of stores so he could go shopping. Read Less

I took 2 driving lessons in aaa driving school (the one on Forest Ave) with an exceptionally wonderful instructor (Margo) and passed (1st time) the test. The school by itself is ok, but we don't need the school to be good we need people who can truely teach us. So, as far as I am concerned I was totally satisfied (and even more) with the knowledge the instructor gave me for just two lessons (one right before the driving test). I definitely recommend this school and this instructor. Good luck everybody! Read Less

My son took extra driving lessons with this driving school.. Although I have very high commendatons for the driving instructor - the office leave ALOT to be desired. They misquote their prices and are extremely rude and arrogant when they speak to you. I would NOT recommend using this organization as they need to take a class in ANGER MANAGEMENT and Customer Service skills.!!!! It is no wonder we have the drivers that we do on Staten Island. Read Less

My 17-year-old daughter passed her driver's ed classes and the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle's Road Test but not only did she not get her driver's license but she lost her learner's permit (through no fault of her own). AAAA Driving School was to blame: They incorrectly filled out official DMV paperwork rendering it "null and void." For the last two months, I've been asking them to correct their mistake but they have not been responsive. Driver Beware.....AAAA Driving School receives a grade of F. Read Less

I learned to drive through AAAA, when it was still AAA driving school.  Because I knew one of the instructors I received a 10% discount an all lessons and on my road test.  My Instructor Nicole was very impressed on how quickly I was able to pick up and maneuver the 3 point turn as well as the parallel park.  I don't know what a certificate of completion is but I suggest this driving school to anyone I know who needs to learn to drive.
