Ez pass is the place to go for driving lessons. It seems like people had mixed success with their instructors, but I loved all 3 of the instructors I had. Nelson: Really focuses on nailing parallel parking. Super chill dude, so friendly. Elliot: He gears everything towards the test. Every time you mess up he'll tell you exactly what you did wrong and say, that's 5 points, that's 10 points etc. He would also do practice tests with me during lessons, telling me how many points I got and the things I needed to correct next time. I found this really helpful! Jose: So good! He actually went to the road test site with a student and shot a video of all the turns they make you take. He showed me the video a day before my test so he could walk me through each step. My boyfriend used ez pass too and the instructors would usually let one of us ride in back while the other was driving. We both took our road test at Cunningham park yesterday and we both passed! I booked a 3 lesson package just to brush up and get some practice.2 stars for Victor. He was on time, maybe even a few minutes early, but very laid back, to the point of seeming checked out - it felt like he spent a lot of the lesson on his phone. I had a double lesson so I could get some highway practice in, and I would have preferred to spend more time getting on and off the highway instead of just cruising along it for one long stretch through queens and then back, and that being it really. He was attentive enough to give me a few mumbled directions in the small local streets and he was familiar enough with the highway to give me a heads up about a couple tight spots, but I really feel like I could have gotten more out of a double lesson. I felt like I had to ask questions and voice concerns to get advice out of him.4 - 5 stars for Angel. I wish I'd had him for my double lesson! He was clear, energetic, proactive, and gave me plenty of tips and helpful explanations throughout the entire lesson. This is my first time posting a review on Yelp, and it is to say a big thank you to Ez Pass driving school - and in particular to my wonderful instructor Angel!!!Five days ago (and 40 days after my first driving lesson), I passed my driving test on the first try. I could not have done it without their help. The driving school is professional, reliable, and helped walk me through every step of the learning and licencing process. My instructor Angel was very supportive and informative. Not only did he teach the fundamentals of driving, parallel parking, and making 3-point turns, but he also made time for me to improve on my specific challenges. He knows the driving test inside out, and knew what tips to offer to make the more challenging parts of the exam (such as parallel parking) easier. He has a keen eye for the learning styles of his students, and told me ways I could study and improve on my driving outside of our lessons. He also has a chill, optimistic spirit and a great sense of humor (which are generally delightful qualities, but are especially helpful when you're freaking out behind the wheel). I took my 5 hour mandatory class with these guys as well as 6 individual driving classes. I started out not knowing anything about how to drive a car and by the end, I was driving my instructors around Bushwick and Ridgewood smoothly. I passed my road test on the first try!! I had angel for my instructor and he was so professional never made me feel unconformable one bit, not ever which is a big deal being a female and not getting snarky or "fresh" remarks from a man, angel made me pass my test with flying colors. I can only recommend you to get angel, for the company it self wasn't as satisfactory I had anticipated, confusions with payment and repaying for classes even though I did call ahead of time and told them I had to reschedule. Thank God a friend told me about EZ Pass driving school, but I'm mostly appreciative and thankful that she told me about the best instructor there ANGEL!! I PASSED, because of ANGEL!! First it was hard to even get a lesson with him, that's how great he is that he is ALWAYS booked. I finally had my lessons with Angel, and I learned so much with him, he is an excellent instructor, the way he teaches is so helpful, I learned something new with him everyday. It's very important when learning to drive to be comfortable and not be afraid of your instructor, Angel was ALWAYS polite, and always made me feel right at home, with my driving and all my crazy questions. Now when it came down to correcting my errors of course he corrected me, but in such a way that it didn't make me feel horrible, just simply aware of what not to do the next time. I loved how in some lessons he would simply observe my driving and would let me do it on my own instead of telling me what to do. I thought I would never get my license, but Angel instilled such confidence in me that I couldn't believe it. Thank you EZpass!I recently signed up for a package of ten lessons which ranged about $370 which I felt like I needed because I haven't driven a car in like 3 years. My instructor was ANGEL and I HIGHLY suggest you guys pick him and only him lol . He's really easy to learn from and makes you feel like driving isn't so hard. I was hesitant at first because this is my second time trying to learn how to drive except the first time was with Jessie's driving school. They obviously sucked and was a waste of money but I came here and passed so easily! The lines of communication were great and I was able to reschedule lessons if I needed to with no problems. I took a number of lessons with this driving school so I've had almost all of the instructors; Victor, Angel, Jose, Frankie, and a new guy,  I think is named George. The first FIVE that I listed were good instructors but I like Frankie and Victor the best. Frankie is no longer with the school ( what a shame. He was great ) so,  I'll focus on Victor. Victor is knowledgeable, polite, patient and does not spend the entire lesson talking to you about random stuff while your driving. If you really need to concentrate and take in what you're learning, ask for Victor!!!The school in general needs to have work etiquette training with their drivers and office staff. Read Less

I'm only rating this Driving school 5 stars because the Driving Instructor JOSE was the best.. He makes you feel comfortable and calm.. But most importantly he explains everything throughly and is very motivating.. Which is very important for a 1st time driver like myself.. I had my 1st two classes with other drivers who were not bad but after I took a class with JOSE.. I requested him for the rest of my 4 classes.. Let me tell you about EZ pass driving school! I have never felt so confident before a test and so prepared as I did with this road test. I had taken it last year through another school and failed :-( and I have to say EZ pass is the best!!! Classes are super flexible and the instructors are fantastic. Angel was super informative and made me feel extremely comfortable, after the first lesson I felt super confident behind the wheel. Over all he was a great teacher and very patient. I loved that he tested me through out the lesson, and would tell me what I did wrong and had me do it agin. So it wasn't him telling me what to do the whole time, because of course the day of the road test he can't tell me stop, go, too far, etc. when I took my second lesson with Victor he  could tell that I had already learned some things from Angel and that made me feel awesome. He was also very communicative. One thing that I loved, instructors were SUPER respectful. Although young, they were professional and I always felt safe. TODAY I TOOK MY ROAD TEST AT 3PM and I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so appreciative for this and everyone will know about EZ Pass! Best school ever! I am an anti-talent when it comes to driving, but these guys, Angel specially, made me overcome my fear of driving. All of them are so sweet and professional, calm, and they give you positive reinforcement!They teach you step by step how to turn left and right, how to parallel park, and how to develop confidence in yourself! I would give them a 6 stars, if possible! I strongly recommended this school! This is the BEST driving school around!! I'm so happy I decided to come here to get my driver's license. Everything was such a smooth process and I never had any issues scheduling classes, they are very flexible. Definitely recommend taking ANGEL as your instructor. He taught me everything I needed to know while being nice and courteous. He definitely knows his stuff and put me at ease. I took a lesson with a new instructor, Jose, and he was good too. He noticed my difficulty in parallel parking and taught me a new way which helped me a lot during my test.  Overall, come to this school to get your license and ask for Angel. Just passed my driving test today. It was my first attempt and with only 15 lessons. I've never been behind the wheels before and started from knowing nothing. I have to give mad props to Angel Torres for giving great advice and motivation. He was very patient during all of our lessons and explained the maneuvers in a way that made sense, he even suggested some videos to watch which was a great addition to the lessons. I made an account on Yelp just to leave a review for this school. I have lived in the US for over 7 years now and in two cities were there isn't really a need to drive a car to get around. Needless to say I hadn't been behind the wheel in a long long time. I decided I was going to get my license before Christmas time and began a two month process to make it a reality, and I couldn't have done it without this school. Angel and Victor are amazing instructors. I did fail the road test the first time but it was all due to nerves and anxiety for sure not a lack of instruction from the  school. I immediately scheduled another test and an extra three lessons.  I passed my test last Thursday and I cannot tell you how happy and grateful I am. I completely recommend this school to anyone in NY. On Sept 2 I received my drivers license thanks to this school and my wonderful driving instructor Angel. One time and nailed it. I felt comfortable and confident during the test. During the lessons he determined my level of experience, my comfort and taught accordingly. The prices are very affordable. Lessons are offered morning through night 7 days per week. I'm giving this driving school a 3 star rating. The following is my reason. I paid for their $190 package via their website. After the transaction was complete, I called to let them know that I'd paid via the site (they use PayPal to process transactions) and scheduled my 5 hour class and driving lessons. I thought it was a bit strange that the money wasn't immediately pulled from my account but decided to brush it off. It wasn't debited from my account for another week. (So if you're normally tight on cash this may not work for you. You're better off just paying cash in the office.) So that was my Strike 1... My first driving lesson was GREAT. The instructor (I honestly just forgot his name! So Sorry, But he was very charismatic) was patient, courteous and not quick to hit the break. I really appreciated his patience with me. He is both friendly and quite the conversationalist but I appreciated it. It made me very comfortable behind the wheel of this extremely unfamiliar vehicle. (He gets 5 stars).The date of my 5 hour class arrives and I'm called to the front. The Assistant asked how and when I paid because I wasn't "in the system and they needed proof that I paid"... (Even though I called the very same day I paid through their site). After searching their book I had to log into my email from my phone and send her the email payment confirmation I received from PayPal. Not a big deal for some but I felt they should have a better handle on their transactions. Especially since they're providing the option to pay via their site as well. It's because of this that I'm only awarding them 3 stars. Although everyone seems friendly enough, (the instructor for the 5 hour class was both friendly and engaging), I felt the office lacked a certain amount of professionalism when handling these matters. Also, each time I call, someone answers their phone with a simple "Hello"... so I usually have to ask if I've dialed the correct number. I expected a professional greeting and get thrown off each time they answer that way.Overall they're not bad and I Do recommend them. They're easy to get to and close to everything.  If you can get past the first 3 videos from 1991 then I'd say you're doing pretty well. Lol Read Less

Shortly after I received my permit back in October,I contacted EZ Pass. They were the closest driving school to my home and that's basically all I was looking for in a driving school--that and reasonable rates. I called on Wednesday afternoon and asked to schedule a diagnostic driving appointment. They were able to accommodate me that same day. I met with Eddie and he took me out for a test drive. He was able to assess my driving skills and suggested what he thought was the proper driving lesson package for me. I believe he suggested I take one of the larger packages because I wouldn't be practicing on a personal car outside of formal lessons and didn't have any past driving experience. I didn't want to be oversold on a package, so I just took the 6-lesson package knowing that I can always upgrade/downgrade if need be. Next, I took the five hour driving certificate class on a Wednesday. It was extremely boring (I posted a picture of the TV set we had to look at during the class). Stephanie, the school's secretary asked me if I'd like her to schedule my road test right then since I was now eligible to take it. I knew that I didn't want to take it in the winter, so I told her that I would call and let her know when I was ready. I took a break on the driving thing when the weather got nastier out, and didn't resume with lessons until about March or so. I was a tad bit rusty so I upgraded to the 10-lesson package. From then on, I chose to take all of my remaining lessons with Eddie because I liked and benefited from his stern, strict teaching style. If you are a more lax/laid back kind of a learner I'd suggest Robert or Francisco. They are also bringing in a new instructor to lessen the load. I called Stephanie towards the end of April and asked her to schedule my road test. Within a day, she got back to me with my date...JUNE 11, 2013 @ 11AM AKA DOOMSDAY! She also automatically scheduled my last lesson for the morning of my road test so that it could act as a day-of refresher lesson. Also, here is where I want to applaud Stephanie. She NEVER called and hounded me for payment. After my initial down payment of $100, I paid over the phone whenever I had the money to do so. I was never prompted to make a payment. She was great! Always pleasant and accommodating! The kind of administrative person that MAKES a great business! I continued to practice with Eddie and then DOOMSDAY arrived....I was confident, but not overly confident as I knew that i was still making simple mistakes such as signaling and looking while turning. But, I PASSED! On my FIRST try! Eddie and the other instructor he is currently training were there in the parking lot to high-five and hug me as I flashed my paper receipt license (valid for 90 days until the real one comes in the mail). The other young lady who accompanied me, because she also had her driving test  failed after accumulating 80 points, but she told me that she only taken 4 lessons with the other two instructors and never practiced on her own time. Again, if you are like her and myself and don't own your own car or have access to one to practice with, take the lesson package that allows you enough practice to where you are comfortable behind the wheel.
