i was very disappointed with the way they run their business, i had to reschedule my road test due to the fat i didn't pass the 1st time. And Jenniffer never notified me that i was going to have to pay for her to reschedule the entire road test, and pay to use their car and on top of that pay for another lesson after paying for everything the 1st time, this is a rip off and i suggest everyone else to reschedule their road test on their own or spend over 100 something dollars with this driving school. This place is so unprofessional I left work early to come over here ahead of time and I called saying I would arrive at 4:40 no one called me back. Get out the train at 4:40 to get a phone call saying the guy left already. They said he called me to confirm my appointment and that was it he couldn't reach me no voicemail was left. So I took a train for an hr to get here because I read great reviews from them. Save your money Go else where this review has nothing to do with the class but on being professional and at least leave me a voicemail I was above ground for 30 mins before arriving. So basically if you 5 mins late ur class is canceled no matter if you called or not. The driver had other obligations and clearly your money for them is not needed save your money go somewhere else! I took 6 lessons with this school and have to say it did teach me the basics of driving pretty well. Jen is very nice from what I've seen and everything went smoothly. However, I'm afraid I can't say the same for Joe, the instructor. My first time driving was with him and he seemed to be very annoyed of my driving or various questions. I'm not sure where I went wrong, but Joe has sarcasm to his words and I felt slightly disrespected. I planned on rating only 1 star, but I also wanted to be fair on the school itself which is decent and because of Jen. I ended up switching schools and learned so much more than I did at Avalon. Joe skipped the specifics and didn't prepare me for the actual road test enough. I would recommend looking for a different school in order to get a patient and experienced instructor, especially if you are new to driving. Read Less

I did my research before picking an auto school and I must say, I am SO happy I went with Avalon Auto School. Jennifer is extremely sweet and accommodating with whatever you need. My instructor was Joe and I don't even know where to begin. Joe was extremely honest, knowledgable, and awesome to talk to. Driving has been a life long fear of mine and I started this endeavor late in life.  I had researched and called a few local driving schools but ultimately chose Avalon because the owner, Jennifer, was so kind on the phone and answered every question I had with patience.  I informed her that I was very nervous and needed an an instructor who would be able to help me overcome this.  She ultimately paired me with an instructor named Joe.  There are not enough words to fully express just how great of an instructor Joe is.  He not only was able to help me overcome my fear, but he is an excellent instructor.  His ability to teach the skill of driving is impressive - he is able to articulate step-by-step strategies for each maneuver that needs to be mastered in a manner appropriate for new drivers.  I would recommend this auto school to anyone.  Though I'm sure all of the instructors are great, I highly recommend that you ask for Joe!  He helped change my life. My experience with Avalon has been great. I first did my 5 hour class with them, as well as a bunch of lessons and, unfortunately, two road tests.Although I did fail the first time, I attribute it to the fact that I was rushing to try to get it done before I was ready.  I think my instructor, Joe, prepared me as much as possible with the limited amount of time I had.  Still, I was able to pass my second time around no problem.Joe was a great instructor--prompt, patient, and really knowledgable.  The owner, Jennifer, was also very accommodating and professional.  I would definitely recommend Joe/Avalon for all your driving school needs. Avalon driving school is a great place to learn driving. If u want your money worth this is the place to go. I recommend Joe he'll teach u how to drive with np and have you entertain hes strict but your there to drive and u might make a friend in the process. Not only will they teach u how to pass the road test theyll teach you how to drive. Dont go to ferrari theyre over priced and overated. Rude and they try to make u pay for a bugus evaluation test drive. What crap is that pay 45 dollars for you to tell me what package i need. They can recommend the most expensive just to mae money. Please dont waste your time if u want friendly and great driving and to pass Avalons the way to go. Read Less
