I have been a student at this driving school for sometime and one day I am told over the phone that I have a new instructor and my old one had left. It seems like there is always a shortage of instructors here but this time around there is only ONE instructor. He is amazing but he is swamped with students and the school in the abundance of chaos forgot to book me for my road test. I showed up to the test site with my 5 hr certificate in hand and permit to be told I could not take my test that day. This could have all been avoided if the school had a proper number of instructors, cared more about their students, and showed up to their office. I arrived in person the day of my test an hour early at 11am and no one was present. That should have been my giveaway that there was something wrong. Read Less

I bought their 7 class package for my road test. I was assigned Paul as my instructor. He is a really good instructor. He's calm and collected and makes you feel confident at the wheel. Most importantly he doesn't just teach you to pass the test, he teaches you to drive! I have friends who passed the road test but still can't drive or are afraid to drive. I passed my test on my first try and was driving around on the highway the very next day. You can't go wrong, especially if you go with Paul! Read Less

I had Leo as my instructor, and he helped me pass the test! He's a very good guy and you know he has a lot of experience on the road. As long as you listen to him everything will go smoothly. He has a Russian accent but that shouldn't intimidate you one bit! He is very helpful and doesn't sugarcoat anything, he will be blunt so that helps you be a better driver, at least in my opinion. My instructor's name was Paul, and he was just a fantastic teacher. He is very patient, friendly,  and teaches you to drive beyond what is necessary for the road test so that you're prepared for the real world. I would rate no stars if I could.  Very disorganized.  They didn't show up for 2 out of the 5 appointments paid for my son.  They got the scheduled appointment times wrong or they didn't show up at all.  The office didn't answer the phone or didn't know anything.  Repeating the scheduled appointment times didn't help.  They don't know how to book appointments. I took a full corse with 5 HR class and road lessons with an instructor name Leonid. Used the actual car I practiced in to take the official road test. I've never driven before ever. Born and raised in NYC. I successfully passed my road test by the city in the pouring rain this week. I am very happy with the result and everyone at the school was professional. Read Less

I took my 5-hour course here. With the Groupon and a coupon code it was insanely cheap, like $10-15 bucks.It wasn't a terrible experience. They told me the course started at 3:30pm but it didn't actually start until 4pm - I found that pretty annoying as I had to sit around for over 30 mins. The instructor tried his best to keep everyone engaged and entertained, but it was clear that he didn't have 5hrs worth of material prepared so he told a lot of stories. A very fair amount of breaks were given too, which was nice. There's 1 really long break, so make sure you bring a book or something if you don't plan on going outside. No phones during the 'lessons' either-he's very strict about that and will call you out. Also, dress for comfort. The class takes places in their tiny office, and only accommodates approx 12 people. The chairs are packed in there and not terribly comfortable. But for such a low price you can't really beat it. Read Less

Absolutely recommend this school! They did their best to make the 5-hour class as painless as possible, asking relevant questions and making it as concise as possible. Driving instructor Leon was always courteous, punctual and encouraging. Having never driven before, he got me ready for my exam in just 5 lessons. I passed on the first try. I had a great experience with this driving school.  Tanya at the front desk was always very helpful when it came to scheduling my driving lessons and answering any questions that I had.  Leon was my driving instructor and he was truly the best!  I was completely clueless when it came to driving and was terrified when I got behind the wheel.  Leon was patient, clear with his directions and helped me get over my fear!  I passed the driving test from the 1st try after taking 9 lessons with him.   Overall I had a great experience and would absolutely recommend the school and would highly recommend Leon as an instructor! Autocraft had its share of (bad) moments, but the end result depends on who is teaching. Dino was a great instructor, he was very chill and laid-back. He'd just let you do your own thing which is very important when learning how to drive; you'll never learn how to drive if the instructor is grabbing the wheel all the damn time. Obviously if you f'ed up he would tell you what you did wrong, but he'd be cool about it. I came in with no experience at all, nervous and I had some confidence issues with being on the road. My instructor, Dino, was absolutely a wonderful, pleasant professional and relatable. He was very patient with me and helped me build up my driving confidence. He reassured me of my driving skills and constantly reinforced previous lessons. He walked me through the road test and he evaluated my driving once going through a walk through on my first lesson. I really liked this driving school. The staff was really nice and my instructor, Dino was awesome! I passed my road test on the first try after 8 lessons with him and I'm a new driver. He had a great way of teaching driving and I really learned a lot from him. He doesn't yell if you do something wrong, he just explains it to you better until you get it right. My experience with this driving school was really good !  I took 4 lessons with Dino. He knows his stuff which is great . He was so patient with me and he had a couple of tricks up his sleeve for parallel parking which I always had diffuliculty in . I just took my road test today and passed cause of those lessons ! I was stuck at LGA trying to get off a flight I call them at 5pm telling them. I have a 6pm appt. but they haven't let us off the flight yet (traveled for work) the man is like SORRY you should had canceled.  I try to tell him I swore i was going to make it I have been in the air and timed everything correctly It not my fault my flight has been on the tarmac for this long. can you please do something for me. he is like no my policy is more important you lose a class and was being a D**k. they need people skills and someone who speaks clearly on the phone. I barely understaood him but i felt it was unfair and he could had made some sort of compromise with the situation I had. I dont recommend. Read Less

My experience with the school was very good. The staff was friendly and my instructor Edwin was great. He went through all the details required for clearing the driving test very patiently with me. He gave me great practice and good pointers for the road test. He was also very motivating and never got edgy or irritated even when I made mistakes.  The school was also punctual with appointment times, helped in rescheduling lessons any number of times if informed 24 hrs in advace (which is their policy)and setting up my road test. I only scheduled 2 driving classes since i've had experience driving with another person and also because I took classes about 5 years ago. Leo was an excellent teacher; I told him I was pretty much comfortable with everything except parallel parking which i had very little experience with. This review is long overdue but it's better late than never and I want to tell everyone to AVOID THIS DRIVING SCHOOL. Although on their website it seems like they give you an excellent deal at a good price, it still isn't worth it. Let me tell ya why it isn't worth it: the employers are extremely unprofessional.My dad and I made an appointment to sit down and schedule when I wanted to practice. First off, when we were sitting down with what seemed to be their secretary (she was a heavy set woman), she was rude and was on her cell phone. And while she was filing my paperwork, my dad leaned over to see what she was doing and she rudely said, "sit down." Like lady my dad just wants to know what you're doing with all our IDs and everything.I was assigned an instructor with a full head of hair, thick mustache and heavy accent (I won't say his name). Let me say that there were more downs than ups. He was aggressive and scolded every mistake I made; a few times I came home crying and other times I did not want to continue my driving lessons with him. He made tasteless jokes about me ending up in the cemetery with my sucky driving. He spoke way too much and it was extremely distracting and sometimes I got too frustrated with him. Yet looking back I guess that's how my instructor was, and to be fair he was kind and compassionate half the time. But meh. You need to have a consistent driving instructor and he was not consistent with his moods.I had to reschedule a driving lesson and the same secretary said "we will contact you about reschedule". A week and a half with no call. I had to call again and ask. Seriously? After my 4/5th lesson (I signed up for 9), I took the 5 hour class. The reason why I'm mentioning this is because after signing my signature, the guy clearly said "We will call you to tell you when your road test is". They didn't call for 3weeks. When I got fed up with waiting, I called and asked when is my road test. It was THAT MONDAY. I was absolutely furious. I began to lose it and I demanded they move my test. I had to wait another fxckin month. But I passed my test. I guess that's all that matters.I will never recommend autocraft to anyone. Read Less

Staff is nice and helpful, and their cars aren't too bad.However, the instructor they sent me was a different story...he was extremely distracting during driving, didn't teach me a whole lot even in 7 lessons with him (in fact, when I went to take the road test I felt completely lost and nervous as hell because I didn't know what I was doing, not good). He didn't go through parallel parking/broken U-turns until I had 2 lessons left. He was a very nice guy and always early for lessons, but not a good teacher at all. I've heard wonderful reviews about their other instructors though, so if I were to go back to this school, I would request a different instructor. Read Less

Highly recommend this place! From the very beginning they were super friendly wanted to help me as much as possible. I told them I was a very nervous driver but they said ""NO PROBLEM"" They welcomed me with open arms into their school. My instructor was great, really friendly guy & KNEW EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS DOING. I passed my road test first time around, but thats only because Lenny recommended the perfect place to take it. Nice quiet neighborhood, not very busy, but i guess it is because he recommended i take it in the morning as well. My daughter wants to start learning how to drive, and I would be glad to pay for her to learn from the people at Auto Craft Driving School! Also it is much cheaper then her high school's drivers ed. My instructor Bill was the greatest in the world and I would recommend him to everyone. However, LENNY IS A CHEAT AND A FRAUD. He is the guy who owns this school and he refused to give me the fifth class that we had contracted upon when I bought the basic package. The fifth class according to my schedule was for a different than was on his record. I missed it and he refused to give it to me again. AN HOUR BEFORE MY EXAM HIM AND I WERE NEGOTIATING OVER SOMETHING I ALREADY PAID FOR!!! Luckily I passed so I don't have to deal with this double-dealer again. Read Less

Not only did I find their package deals affordable, but their staffs are very nice and polite. I needed a refresher on my driving skills to obtain my driver license and my instructor, Angel, is truly calm and patient. He was extremely thorough, down to the ""hand-over-hand"" technique for turns, improved my parallel parking, and gave the most helpful advice.
