I am now a licensed driver thanks to the services of Rockland Driving School, but if there were any other driving school in my area that offered similar services, I would have switched over.
Diane, who is apparently in charge of scheduling and secretarial duties, is a nightmare to communicate with. I have never experienced worse services. Diane and I communicated largely through email (as I work during the school's open hours, I couldn't talk on the phone), and her responses were often sent without a salutation or signature and riddled with grammatical errors. I would send her emails with my questions and concerned clearly listed out, and often she would not read the emails in full, or only respond to one question out of five. I would politely reiterate my questions, and she once sent me a response in all caps and no punctuation; She had to be aware that this was incredibly rude.
When I took my lessons, I made sure to pay my instructor, Tom, the exact amount in cash at the end of every lesson (and Tom would keep meticulous record of this, as he is supposed to do). The week before my road test, Diane called to inform that I owed almost $400. I figured it could be settled after I take my road test (a mistake on my part), but low and behold, you are not allowed to take your road test until you make the payment. So I was basically being held hostage in my driver's ed car while the clock is ticking before my scheduled test, because of Diane's mistake. Tom called Diane and Diane said she would call immediately to straighten out. 10 minutes go by with no call from Diane, so I end up being the one to contact her. She shuffles through some papers while on the line, and magically realizes that she is mistaken, and that I only owe $40.
Diane sent me an apologetic email with an excuse as to how she made that mistake (I had taken lessons years ago, and Diane tried to say that she was looking at old records in which I owed that amount of money - which is complete B.S.), and later called my house phone with the same apology and excuse, which I thought was abrasive and awkward.
Long story short - if you have multiple driving school options, do not go with Rockland Driving School. Read Less
