Acropolis Driving School is top notch!! From the first phone call Iralda was very welcoming and informative. She helped schedule my classes around my schedule. I also had a goal date of getting my license. Which I made very clear. She was very helpful with making my timeline with me to reach my goal date. Very straightforward and honest about what would be possible. Jose and Santiago, were both great instructors!! They helped me prepare for the test, as well as learn how to drive once the test is over. I got the 10 lessons package. I was perfect for a beginner like myself. I went to 2 different driving schools in NY (which sucked!) and Acropolis, is by far the best driving school in NY. One of the best experiences I've ever had. At first, I was very hesitant about learning to drive, I had no knowledge what so ever about driving however, both Jose and Santiago made it very easy for me. I kept doubting myself about learning and within the first few classes, I managed to drive and steer the car properly, the rest of the classes were even easier and both made driving for me a great experience! I'm 32 and did not want to wait any longer to properly learn how to drive. I'm so glad I found this driving school! I came to them at the beginning of July. I was very warmly welcomed by Ms. Iralda at the front desk. She took the time to explain the different package options to me. I signed up for the 15 class package (highly recommended if you are a new driver).  I told her I was hoping to take my road test by the end of August before heading back to work. Ms. Iralda could not fit me in the schedule right away, but was able to get me started on July 31st and made sure I was able to get 15 lessons in before my road test. If ever the schedule had to be shifted, Ms. Iralda would call me in advance to let me know, but always made sure there was another time available for me. I was nervous at first, but the instructor, José, put me at ease right away! He was very reassuring and motivated me a lot! I had more classes with him, but I also experienced driving with Santiago. Both instructors gave me very helpful tips. I will not forget them! Especially since, thanks to them, I passed my driving test on the first try!! It's important to note that the person (Jane O.) who gave this school 3 stars is mistaken. There is no person named "Maria" working there. Ms.Iralda is always the one coordinating at the front desk. I highly recommend Acropolis driving school to all beginners or those who just need a refresher. Everyone in the driving school is extremely nice and accommodating to your needs. The office/manager/front desk receptionist is awesome. She will do her best to work around your schedule and the sweetest woman I have met. Both Jose and Santiago are great instructors. Santiago is easy going and very patient. Jose is very funny and entertaining and gives you the confidence you need to pass your road test. Nonetheless I passed my road test and am very happy. I'm so glad that I chose this driving school. The instructors were very patient with me during the classes, and I was treated with the utmost respect over the phone. My schedule was taken into account when selecting classes and my road test, and they were very accommodating when I needed to reschedule. They were nice enough to even offer me classes when the school would typically be closed. They genuinely want you to pass your road test, and I was able to pass my test on the first try. First I chose the 5 classes without the test, then I later chose the 3 classes with the test. They made it so easy to choose which package you wanted and to schedule your classes. They were very professional, and I was given a receipt for every payment. I would 100% recommend this driving school to any new drivers or anyone who needs extra practice. Not bad for the 3 lessons the third one was with another teacher , he didnt talk much was just observing the road. I think my first instructor was jose he made the driving experience worthwile. I already have my licence so i just wanted to recap as often as possible but by the third visit when I inquired about driving on the highway the front desk lady maria said ,"sorry, we dont offer highway lessons". Strange when i first called them they said they did , i guess the classes are cheap for a reason? Or something else... I found another school that will accommodate this useful tool. This place is amazing ... the driving instructors are funny and kind they help you feel good about your driving experience whether your a good learner or bad .. i have anxiety problems and it takes me time to calm down when i get in a car and with them it was a breeze .... the receptionist there is a wonderful woman and she always wishes you luck and calls you before and after the road test ... when you walk in there it feels like a family establishment where they welcome you in  Fyi I passed my road test !!!! The first time I sat on the driver's seat of a car was in my first driving lesson. I took the 10 lesson package and passed my exam on the first try in just a few months.The service is friendly and above all, professional. The drivers are always on time, and they're flexible with scheduling. The woman who works the front desk is the sweetest person. She is always smiling, happy and eager to assist you. I only took 3 lessons, they booked my test and 5hr class and I passed on my first try.
