I took my road test today for the first time in the middle of a snow storm. Boy was that scary! Snow, rain, all around miserable weather. However, thanks to my great instructor, G, from Bell Auto School, I was not at all nervous. He taught me how to stay calm under pressure. My parallel park, changing lanes, and 3 point turns were flawless. Needless to say, I passed on my first try. Thanks G, and thanks Bell Auto School. You guys are the best! Read Less

I was supposed to have an instructor take my daughter out to drive the day before her road test. I received a call that the instructor was unavailable. I was assigned GEORGE. George came the day before her road test and again the day of the road test.. I was told that things happen for a reason.. They sure do!! George was kind, patient and worked with my daughter. She PASSED her road test. I would recommend GEORGE to anyone that needs an instructor AAA in my book! Read Less

I have to say I was about to give an horrible review to bell auto school because the 1st instructor I was sent was just terrible and didn't really teach me much. I kept asking him to help me improve my driving skills, parking etc. because I felt I wasn't ready and he would just say I was ready to give the road test but I failed twice. After that experience I took some time off driving, when I decided it was time to take more lessons but wanted to get a different instructor ( I was only available at certain hrs) they said they would have to look into it and let me know ... nobody ever called back. At that point I almost gave up and decided to go check the reviews online to see if anyone had a good instructor. The only instructor that everyone raved about was not available in my area so they sent me Roy. I must say Roy is truly the BEST instructor! For over 30 years I was TERRIFIED (understatement) of driving, he really took the time to understand why I was so terrified and guided me thru a whole process that helped my fear of driving just melt away... he really observed my driving and every session he would push me to improve my skills by giving me actual practical tips on how to improve them. I started taking lessons with him that I couldn't even talk while driving and never I would have dreamed to gain the skills an the confidence to drive my 2 babies around. He would do and say the funniest things while I was driving because he knew I had 2 little ones and wanted to make sure I could handle distractions while driving. ROY is truly the BEST driving instructor. Needles to say I passed the road test at the 1st try with him. Driving seemed to have a lot of complicated rules, but my instructor Roy made everything super simple. He took all the anxiety and confusion out of driving and learning the road test. Not only that, he had a good eye for assessing my strengths and weaknesses and always had an effective way to exercise what I needed to work on. I would definitely recommend him as an instructor for anyone who's really nervous about driving or passing the road test or both. Read Less

It was an awful experience. Totally a waste of my time and money! They did not teach me anything useful !The teacher had no idea what he was doing and didn't have any lesson plans! He did not give me any tips for the road test! He kept asking me what to do at the beginning of every class and had no idea what we had gone over before. He was surprised when I told him I had two lessons left and asked me if we practiced parking already... After spending hundreds of dollars and weeks of my time I got nothing from this school that I couldn't get from a few hours practicing on my own. After this place I have to go to another driving school and spend another month and hundreds of dollars in order to pass the road test. Plus they used three different cars in my first few lessons. Half of the time in class the only thing I did was just getting used to different cars(different wheels,gas brake pedals feel very different for a new driver)! This place was such a pain! Read Less

Solid driving school, had several instructors here some were better then others, but won't name any names, everyone needs to make their own conclusion. They are really the only driving schools around here so need to make the best of it. My advice is to try several instructors until you find the one that is the  best for you. The women who answer the phone and take credit card payments are not too pleasant or bright. Read Less

Taking lessons from a teacher with this school gave me a good foundation for learning how to drive. However, they are NOT meant to be a substitute for time spent practicing on your own with a friend or relative in his/her car. It is this practice time that will ultimately make the difference between you passing or failing a road test. Lessons with a professional driving instructor are merely icing on the cake, not the cake itself. The NYS DMV recommends 50 hours of practice before taking the road test. I got about 20 before taking it, including the ten 45-minute lessons I had with a Bell Auto instructor in a Bell Auto car. I failed the test. Read Less

One of the best auto schools in all of Long Island. The experience and quality that was delivered was superb. I specifically received Gordon as my driving instructor through a referral. He is by far one of the most professional, kind, insightful, and intelligent driving instructors. He taught me the core fundamentals of driving. When the day came to the road test i was well prepared to take it and everything seemed so simple. Please note, I took my road test in arguably one of the most difficult places (Garden City Park), with arguably one of the (most harsh road test instructors) or better known as the "executioner" for those who know what i'm talking about. But none of this stopped me from passing my road test and receiving that license to drive. Also, Im not too certain on what others wrote in regards to instructors being "creepy" or "abducting" their students. I myself wasn't "abducted" by one of their documented employees nor was the instructor or the staff members i got in contact with for scheduling were creepy. Besides this I owe my  driving skills to the auto school and especially Gordon. I would refer him in a heartbeat to anybody that wants to learn how to drive. Read Less

Took several lessons with this school, and the instructor they sent me was a good teacher, taught me to become a better driver, and always on time; however, he was creepy as hell. Only complaint I have is that he once made a joke about abducting me with a straight face (okay, maybe he was kidding, but it was still super creepy), and then started talking to me about how he hacked into people's computers and wireless internet connections. Yeah...after that I was too creeped out to go back to him.I did end up failing the road test, due to a fault of my own, and I would go back to this school again, but this time, I'd request a different instructor. The guy that owned the office was really friendly and helpful, and so was everyone else that worked at the office. Oh, and their new cars are really nice to drive. Read Less

i needed to get my 5-hr drivers ed. course certificate in order to take the drivers license test. bell offers the 5-hr course for $50. Almost 3 hours were spent listening to an elderly man ramble. 30 mins for lunch break at Subways which is a convenient 2-min walk. The rest of the class was devoted to watching drivers ed videos on drunk driving and etc. such a waste of 5 hours of my life. at least i got the certificate tho... Read Less
