*To parents of special needs young adults*When I first was told my son would have Gordon as his instructor I expressed my resevations due to the negative responses I read. I was told he was wonderful and there were many more positive comments than negative. That doesn't matter when it's your son he attacks. He was "harsh" my son described until he became sadistic. My son is high functioning Autistic and the definition is a communication disorder so it was weeks before he told what had been said to him. I found all the auto schools I called to be blatant about charging as much as they could "what do you care, you're going to be reimbursed", except I pay first and wait 6 months while they try to deny payment. If the schools are going to embrace clients with special needs, clients with self direction then they should have staff that is patient and understands the learning differences. Edward Gordon was verbally abusive to my son. His comments were cruel and monstrous. "Helen Keller could learn to drive before you". He wasn't funny, he wasn't sarcastic, he berated my son for being raised by a single mom. My son understood every pernicious statement and as he related, they all amounted to "you are a piece of sh*%" over and over. Someone so in humane and ignorant shouldn't be near anyone that as someone else described is a slow learner.

I had Gordon as my private instructor and he was horrible. First off, he is very inpatient. Once he explains something, he expects you to perfect it within the next five minutes. He does not put into factor that some people are just slower learners. Second of all, if you make a mistake, he yells at you. Not in a constructive criticism kind of way, I mean he literally screams at you. Third of all, he's very lazy. We drove the same road every time and never got onto main roads. This hurt me during my road test because my road test was on main roads. Fourth, he honestly just cares about the money. He doesn't put any effort. Even when I told him that I wanted to practice lane changes, I never got the chance to practice it. Bell Auto isn't a bad place to learn to drive. I've seen great reviews and believe that Bell Auto can help you pass your road test. But if you end up with Gordon, then I suggest you ask for someone else because you're wasting time and money with him.

Adam was a great driving teacher! Need I say more when I tell you my daughter did not have any points deducted. He explained and reviewed everything with her including the technical rules. She didn't want to drive with a teacher but was SO impressed after driving with Adam and what he was able to teach her - ultimate road test prep!

Today I finally passed the road test. Special thanks to my instructor, Peter V. He has amazing teaching skills. My weakness was the parallel parking, however I felt comfortable based on his great tips during the road test. He also has a great work ethic and he loves to teach and he wants to help others basically. I highly recommend him and Bell Auto Driving School when you consider the road test.

My daughter needed to learn how to drive in a month....Bell auto school was very informative and helped make it happen... Chris, her instructor was always timely ( early ) for lessons, professional, patient, and an excellent driving instructor...they scheduled her driving test in a matter of a few days and she passed on the first try. Chris even gave her a 15-30 minute review as a courtesy just before her road test. We are now getting Chris for a 90 minute highway lesson... we are so thankful to have had Chris as her instructor since she never had time during her High school years to take drivers ed. Now she will be driving to Fordham U in the Bronx from Whitestone...Thank you Chris and Bell Auto School for working with us.

I heard about Bell Auto school from a friend of mine who had passed her driving test. She recommended her instructor Chris M. I had very little time to get my license as I was beginning college and needed to commute. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. His methods on teaching things like parallel parking are fantastic. I was able to pass my road test after only two weeks of driving with Chris.THANK YOU BELL AUTO SCHOOL!!

I had driver Chris M. I have had an amazing experience with my instructor as he really helped me learn how to drive. I passed my road test the first time, thanks to Chris, and got very little points off. I feel extremely comfortable when I drive now and always remember everything that Chris has taught me. In my driving car we also learned how to drive on the highway, and we were the very few who got to do that since a lot of the other instructors didn't provide that opportunity to their students. Overall, my drivers ed experience with Chris M was amazing and if anyone is looking for a great driving instructor, Chris is definitely recommended!

Thanks to my driving instructor Peter from bell auto school, I was able to master my parallel park. Highly, Highly, Highly recommend!! I had used Bell Auto for both of my daughters. They had a wonderful experience. It made taking their road test so much easier. Not only were the instructors helpful and patient but the office staff was also a pleasure. I had coordinated everything with Carol who was especially kind and helpful! She was easy to talk to accommodating and very knowledgeable. Overall it was a pleasant experience for all of us.

They are really the only driving schools around here so need to make the best of it. My advice is to try several instructors until you find the one that is the best for you. The women who answer the phone and take credit card payments are not too pleasant or bright.

I have to start off by saying I had 2 of the best driving instructors through this company l. At first I had George and then I got sick and could not continue driving and I called them and I still had two lessons left in my package from the following year and they allowed me to use them and then I got the other best instructor Gordon he was so cool and made me feel comfortable throughout my lessons. I was horrible at parallel parking and thought I was never going to pass my road test until Gordon started showing me his technique and it worked. Gordon was funny calm and a great teacher I would defiantly recommend this school to anyone needing driving lesson! Thanks bell auto school for hiring Gordon which got me to pass my road test the first time!

I have been working for Bell Auto school for nearly 10 years.
I am not going to promote my own company through this review, but I will say that I have personally gotten many positive reviews that are simply not showing up on Google's reviews or Yelp.
We work very hard to make our students safe, efficient road-test worthy drivers and have an enjoyable experience doing it.
It seems that only one terrible review is anything I find when I look for the great reviews my students have left me.
This tells me the review and rating system is not working for businesses or customers.
Google and Yelp owes us an explanation.

Taking lessons from a teacher with this school gave me a good foundation for learning how to drive. However, they are NOT meant to be a substitute for time spent practicing on your own with a friend or relative in his/her car. It is this practice time that will ultimately make the difference between you passing or failing a road test. Lessons with a professional driving instructor are merely icing on the cake, not the cake itself. The NYS DMV recommends 50 hours of practice before taking the road test. I got about 20 before taking it, including the ten 45-minute lessons I had with a Bell Auto instructor in a Bell Auto car. I failed the test.

One of the best auto schools in all of Long Island. The experience and quality that was delivered was superb. I specifically received Gordon as my driving instructor through a referral. He is by far one of the most professional, kind, insightful, and intelligent driving instructors. He taught me the core fundamentals of driving. When the day came to the road test i was well prepared to take it and everything seemed so simple. Please note, I took my road test in arguably one of the most difficult places (Garden City Park), with arguably one of the (most harsh road test instructors) or better known as the "executioner" for those who know what i'm talking about. But none of this stopped me from passing my road test and receiving that license to drive. Also, Im not too certain on what others wrote in regards to instructors being "creepy" or "abducting" their students. I myself wasn't "abducted" by one of their documented employees nor was the instructor or the staff members i got in contact with for scheduling were creepy. Besides this I owe my driving skills to the auto school and especially Gordon. I would refer him in a heartbeat to anybody that wants to learn how to drive.

We signed up for the 10 lesson package and he's 7 lessons in and can't wait to take his road test. I cannot believe how confident he has gotten and he's driving great. I called Bell Auto to inquire about their services and Linda was so informative and helpful. Her recommendations for what lesson package to take were spot on. He's at Bell Auto today taking the 5 hour DMV Class and Linda was again so helpful.My son's driving instructor (Roy) is great and is so patient. My son could not have gotten a better instructor. Roy has so many strengths, including: 1) he's a great instructor, 2) he's patient, 3) safety is so important and 4) he truly is a kind human being!My son is in great hands learning how to drive using Bell Auto. Thanks Bell Auto!

Teachers will come to your house bang your door 2 hours earlier than the expected time, and say, "well, you have nothing to do now, so can we do it now? because i am very busy today" They always try to end lessens about 4-5 minutes earlier unless you directly tell them every time please not to do that. These problems are tolerable, but the worst part is that they can rip you off. If you must take lessons here, always remember to ask your teacher to take out the recipe before you take out your money from wallet or give them a check. make sure that your teacher write down the exact amount of money on recipe and exchange with your money at the same time. there will be a time when you give he/she a money and you forget to receive a recipe. if you thought "well, it is only a driving lesson and what can possibly go wrong?", then you are mistaken.

Took several lessons with this school, and the instructor they sent me was a good teacher, taught me to become a better driver, and always on time; however, he was creepy as hell. Only complaint I have is that he once made a joke about abducting me with a straight face (okay, maybe he was kidding, but it was still super creepy), and then started talking to me about how he hacked into people's computers and wireless internet connections. Yeah...after that I was too creeped out to go back to him.I did end up failing the road test, due to a fault of my own, and I would go back to this school again, but this time, I'd request a different instructor. The guy that owned the office was really friendly and helpful, and so was everyone else that worked at the office. Oh, and their new cars are really nice to drive.

The rest of the class was devoted to watching drivers ed videos on drunk driving and etc. such a waste of 5 hours of my life. at least i got the certificate tho...

Thanks to my driving instructor Peter from bell auto school, I was able to master my parallel park. Giving me extremely helpful tips and carefully told me the proper steps to drive, he allowed me to pass the road test confidently and easily (which is today). It was a wonderful learning experience with Peter!!!

I took my road test today for the first time. I was extremely nervous; however, thanks to my fantastic driving instructor, G, (from Bell Auto School) my road test was a breeze. Thanks to my training in parallel parking, changing lanes, and making three point turns I realized I had nothing to be nervous about. Im happy to say I passed! Thanks Bell Auto School.

I took my road test today for the very first time. I was extremely nervous however thanks to my fantastic instructor G from Bell Auto School my parallel parks, three point turns, and changing lanes were stellar. He most importantly taught me to be calm in stressful situations on the road. Thanks Bell Auto, you guys are the best.

Highly, Highly, Highly recommend!! I had used Bell Auto for both of my daughters. They had a wonderful experience. It made taking their road test so much easier. Not only were the instructors helpful and patient but the office staff was also a pleasure. I had coordinated everything with Carol who was especially kind and helpful! She was easy to talk to accommodating and very knowledgeable. Overall it was a pleasant experience for all of us.

Excellent driving school. The instructors my (very nervous) son had were terrific and I believe my son passed because of them. Shout out to Michael and Raymond who were very friendly and professional. Thanks to Gordon who did the road test lesson with my son and helped him to pass. You guys are the best. Solid driving school, had several instructors here some were better then others, but won't name any names, everyone needs to make their own conclusion. They are really the only driving schools around here so need to make the best of it. My advice is to try several instructors until you find the one that is the best for you. The women who answer the phone and take credit card payments are not too pleasant or bright.

I have to start off by saying I had 2 of the best driving instructors through this company l. At first I had George and then I got sick and could not continue driving and I called them and I still had two lessons left in my package from the following year and they allowed me to use them and then I got the other best instructor Gordon he was so cool and made me feel comfortable throughout my lessons. I was horrible at parallel parking and thought I was never going to pass my road test until Gordon started showing me his technique and it worked. Gordon was funny calm and a great teacher I would defiantly recommend this school to anyone needing driving lesson! Thanks bell auto school for hiring Gordon which got me to pass my road test the first time!

I have been working for Bell Auto school for nearly 10 years.
I am not going to promote my own company through this review, but I will say that I have personally gotten many positive reviews that are simply not showing up on Google's reviews or Yelp.
We work very hard to make our students safe, efficient road-test worthy drivers and have an enjoyable experience doing it.
It seems that only one terrible review is anything I find when I look for the great reviews my students have left me.
This tells me the review and rating system is not working for businesses or customers.
Google and Yelp owes us an explanation.

Taking lessons from a teacher with this school gave me a good foundation for learning how to drive. However, they are NOT meant to be a substitute for time spent practicing on your own with a friend or relative in his/her car. It is this practice time that will ultimately make the difference between you passing or failing a road test. Lessons with a professional driving instructor are merely icing on the cake, not the cake itself. The NYS DMV recommends 50 hours of practice before taking the road test. I got about 20 before taking it, including the ten 45-minute lessons I had with a Bell Auto instructor in a Bell Auto car. I failed the test.

One of the best auto schools in all of Long Island. The experience and quality that was delivered was superb. I specifically received Gordon as my driving instructor through a referral. He is by far one of the most professional, kind, insightful, and intelligent driving instructors. He taught me the core fundamentals of driving. When the day came to the road test i was well prepared to take it and everything seemed so simple. Please note, I took my road test in arguably one of the most difficult places (Garden City Park), with arguably one of the (most harsh road test instructors) or better known as the "executioner" for those who know what i'm talking about. But none of this stopped me from passing my road test and receiving that license to drive. Also, Im not too certain on what others wrote in regards to instructors being "creepy" or "abducting" their students. I myself wasn't "abducted" by one of their documented employees nor was the instructor or the staff members i got in contact with for scheduling were creepy. Besides this I owe my driving skills to the auto school and especially Gordon. I would refer him in a heartbeat to anybody that wants to learn how to drive.

Bell Auto could not have been better. My son is using Bell Auto for his driving lessons and he's doing great. We signed up for the 10 lesson package and he's 7 lessons in and can't wait to take his road test. I cannot believe how confident he has gotten and he's driving great. I called Bell Auto to inquire about their services and Linda was so informative and helpful. Her recommendations for what lesson package to take were spot on. He's at Bell Auto today taking the 5 hour DMV Class and Linda was again so helpful.My son's driving instructor (Roy) is great and is so patient. My son could not have gotten a better instructor. Roy has so many strengths, including: 1) he's a great instructor, 2) he's patient, 3) safety is so important and 4) he truly is a kind human being!My son is in great hands learning how to drive using Bell Auto. Thanks Bell Auto!

Great Auto School, I would say it's one of the top auto schools in the State. Excellent Instructors, who knew a driving course would be fun? Highly Recommended.

Teachers will come to your house bang your door 2 hours earlier than the expected time, and say, "well, you have nothing to do now, so can we do it now? because i am very busy today" They always try to end lessens about 4-5 minutes earlier unless you directly tell them every time please not to do that. These problems are tolerable, but the worst part is that they can rip you off. If you must take lessons here, always remember to ask your teacher to take out the recipe before you take out your money from wallet or give them a check. make sure that your teacher write down the exact amount of money on recipe and exchange with your money at the same time. there will be a time when you give he/she a money and you forget to receive a recipe. if you thought "well, it is only a driving lesson and what can possibly go wrong?", then you are mistaken.

Took several lessons with this school, and the instructor they sent me was a good teacher, taught me to become a better driver, and always on time; however, he was creepy as hell. Only complaint I have is that he once made a joke about abducting me with a straight face (okay, maybe he was kidding, but it was still super creepy), and then started talking to me about how he hacked into people's computers and wireless internet connections. Yeah...after that I was too creeped out to go back to him.I did end up failing the road test, due to a fault of my own, and I would go back to this school again, but this time, I'd request a different instructor. The guy that owned the office was really friendly and helpful, and so was everyone else that worked at the office. Oh, and their new cars are really nice to drive.

Almost 3 hours were spent listening to an elderly man ramble. 30 mins for lunch break at Subways which is a convenient 2-min walk. The rest of the class was devoted to watching drivers ed videos on drunk driving and etc. such a waste of 5 hours of my life. at least i got the certificate tho...
