A complete ripoff. Instructors rushed through the lessons and sucked at teaching. They give you a different driving instructor per lesson so you get confused and barely learn anything. I didn’t feel ready for my road test and for the amount of money i paid, i really wish i went somewhere else.Ended up failing after paying for a 10 lesson package. Total waste of money and time. 2 stars for customer service specifically for cancellation/rescheduling guidelines. Had a situation a few weeks back with the front desk regarding rescheduling a class. Also had a recent occasion again regarding cancelling a class the day before. This place is not at all flexible with a customer's specific schedules especially those who have to work long hours. ($52 to cancel rather than $25 since the highway lesson is 90 minutes) in my opinion it is purely ridiculous. And fo...r that I'll give their service 2 stars overall. Best advice I can give you is try not to cancel or reschedule the day before unless you want to deal with a headache. I'm already looking forward to just deal with my last 2 classes in my package so I no longer have to deal with their service. However, I would rate the instructors 5 stars. My story is I had not renewed my driver's license for several years, as a consequence, I had to go through the process of getting a learners permit and taking driving lessons and 5-hour drivers’ classroom course. I made my living as an NYC taxi driver for a period of time. I was fortunate to find Drive Rite Academy on YELP. Drive Rite Academy is an excellent driving school that offers you a number of classes of driving instruction that you need in order to pass your driv...ing Road Test. They never, and I mean never suggest you take a certain amount of classes, how many classes of driving instruction you need is strictly up to you. My driving instructors David and Raheem gave me the confidence I needed in preparation for the Road Test. Jim drove us to the Road Test, he relaxed everyone with his jovial chatter and I had no butterflies when it was time for the test. There are a couple of things that I did not realize, When you take the 5-Hour Class that is when you will be scheduled for your ROAD TEST, usually 5-6 weeks after. This the best  driving school in Brooklyn  hands down. Sylivia who did the 5hrs class made it very interactive,informative and fun - you can just tell she likes her job. We did watch movies -some where rather graphic but they sent a clear message.As far as instructors for driving lessons the BEST are Bibi and Jim. There are a couple of things this driving school could improve on... 1, the fact that you don't get the same instructor everyday is confusing as some of them have different driving styles and tell you to do things differently. I would've liked the same person everyday I honestly think I would've done better 2. There was an instructor at the end who basically broke my confidence and said he's not sure if I'll pass the road test which was different from what everyone else was saying. That being said, I DID pass the road test and this school DID teach me how to drive. For the most part, everyone was pretty professional and reception was always super nice. I spent around $1200 in total at this academy and failed the test twice. I take some responsibility but I could have been taught better. There was also a few times where I asked for one instructor and ended up with another. Dont get me wrong the people are nice, and Jim in particular is a great guy. It was well presented, informative, the time went quickly and the use of humor on the part of the instructor (Jim) kept things lively without diminishing the serious messages being imparted. I passed my road test on my first try and I couldn't have done it without them.First off, Hiba is super friendly, patient and helpful. Every time I walk into the office, she always greets me and makes me really feel welcomed. She helped me book all my lesson without a problem. If you have any questions or concerns, she really does go out of her way to help you. Most of my driving lessons were with Andre. He taught me everything I know about driving. He's very friendly and patient. He teaches you exactly what you need to know to pass the road test. Shoutout to Kenny who is super funny, practical, and makes every lesson a great learning experience. I took one lesson with him before my road test and he was able to help me correct the little mistakes I made. He also drove me to the road test, and his jokes and positivity definitely help ease the nervousness you'll feel. Sylvia made the 5 hour class bearable. She made it interactive, and shared some of her stories which definitely made the class less boring. I bought the gold package and it was definitely worth every penny I spent. These people are great. Firstly, the customer service (although the wait over the phone can be annoying) is amazing. All the people there are very friendly and Hiba is very warm and welcoming. Simon, the manager, is also a great guy, there was an issue with my payment and he was very understanding about it and helped me out without hassle. More importantly was my instructor, Kenny. I heard amazing things about him and told myself that I'm booking him for all of my lessons. He was patient, funny, informative and great company. The guy knows his shit. I'm really happy I chose to spend money at this school, it was well worth it. I passed my road test earlier today and it was honestly because of what I learned from Kenny along with practice. I just passed my road test this week after only first applying for the theory test a few weeks ago, this turnaround is in no small part due to Drive Rite quickly getting me booked in for the 5 hour course, lessons and the road test. My only constructive feedback here is that I had to elicit an overview of the process from Drive Rite, emailing and asking in person a number of times, so I could understand how the process of booking lessons and the road test would work - a clear overview up front would be useful for people such as me, coming from overseas and not being familiar with the steps to get a license.As for the lessons, they were great, Kelly and then Jason provided clear and tailored feedback to me, adjusting the lessons to my driving experience. I wish the 5 hour course would have been made better use of though, Drive Rite could substitute one of the many YouTube videos or life stories from Jim with useful information about the road test, for example, what all the auto fails are.Not a fair piece of feedback for Drive Rite, but the road test conditions are laughable - you wait in line by the side of the road with zero facilities and the examiners come and go and you just have to wait for when they get to you - I feel sorry for the new drivers that have to do the test after this. I took classes at Drive Rite last year and passed my road test on my first try after having not driven in years and letting my license from another country expire.  The instructors were knowledgeable and friendly so it was easy to be comfortable and just drive without constantly worrying.  Booking classes were easy and there was a wide enough range of available times that I was able to fit them in to a normal work week without taking any time off. The 5-hour class was also surprisingly interesting and I didn't feel like I wasted half my day once it was over (I felt that way going in). I bought the silver package and didn't need to get any additional classes because my particular issue while driving is that I get really uncomfortable behind the wheel and practicing skills I was worried I'd forgotten. I needed the classes to practice and relax. Drive Rite's instructors were great at recognising my strengths and weaknesses and working with them in mind.  I can strongly recommend this driving school to everyone. Read Less

I signed up for the Gold package, 10 classes (45 minutes each), 5 Hour class, Road test and car for test. I also paid $100 for a rush road test. From permit to license took 22 days. Most of my lessons were with Jason and I can't recommend Jason enough, great teacher. I passed my road test yesterday with a 90!Special thanks to my favorite instructors -- Bibi and Jason!Booking classes is a breeze and is best done a week in advance (they fill up quick!). Use their online system or book them all in person or on the phone. I, personally, did them all on the phone, and the girls at the front desk that helped me were so quick, efficient, and helpful. I really needed to get my license ASAP as I'm moving out to Long Island for school so I got the rush package. Within a month, I got my permit, took my 5 hour class, took five lessons, and booked my road test. I really liked that you're driving a decent car for your lessons and road test. At another driving school I used to go to, I could never get comfortable enough in their car for the exam and failed twice. The cars here seem well cared for, with power side-view mirrors and proper car alignment.I'm not sure how they accommodate requests for specific teachers but all instructors I got were pretty good. Some felt comfortable with the way I drove and thus lapsed into small talk for the lesson. Not a horrible issue, as I still got time behind the wheel. But Bibi and Jason are on another level of instruction. They were so observant and detailed, which is exactly what you need in a teacher, because the examiners are watching your every move! They critiqued every maneuver, making suggestions on how to do them better. They let me know every time I did something that an examiner might not like.One thing I wish they did was include your instructor's name in your lesson reminder e-mail. When I showed up for a lesson, I was never really sure who I was going to have that day. Walking up and down the row of driving school cars and guessing wasn't really much fun.Overall, I'm super thankful for having them to make me feel more comfortable behind the wheel and giving me the means to pass my test! I purchased the silver package with 6 lessons, 5 hour class, and car for road test. It was THE BEST decision ever. The five hour class with Ricky was very informative, not boring at all. It was over before I knew it. I had Ron and Kevin (Dean Street location) as instructors, they taught me exactly what I needed to know in order to past my road test. Do not waste your time looking for another driving school. Drive Rite Academy is the best you can get! I did my 5 hour class here, as well as lessons and a road test. For my lessons, I mostly had Peter and Kevin. They were both very patient, friendly, and gave clear directions. Rebecca taught the 5 hour class and she was funny, informative, and made the time go by fast. I highly recommend paying the extra fee and getting a rush road test. I got my test in less than two weeks and passed! The whole process from beginning to end was very pleasant. Everyone I dealt with was great. I will be recommending Drive Rite to all my friends. Reserving a lesson for the day of the road test was probably the smartest thing I could've done! I had Simon and he was very reassuring and the simulated road test experience really helped prepare me for my test. Every instructor I had at Drive Rite was instrumental in my passing and I am very happy with my decision to take my lessons with them! Hands down phenomenal instructors and administration. Most of my lessons were with Stephen, who was extremely patient and insightful. I also took a few with Monique, Ronald, Jim, and David. They were all incredibly friendly and helpful and knew what they were doing. This past Thursday I took my 5 hour class with Jim. When I first booked the class I changed my date from Saturday to Thursday at 5pm so that I can have the class with Sylvia I'm not sure why she was not the instructor but thankfully Jim was great. The class lasted 4hrs and he made it interactive, he told us some stories and related the class to his life and specific experiences. This place is located right by Brooklyn College so it is a really convenient location to take the 6-hour driving course. The price was incredibly reasonable and the class was... not as bad as I thought a 6-hour course would be. Furthermore, they offer a lot of different times at which you can take classes, including nights and weekends (which is incredibly convenient).Read Less
