I am so glad that I found this school and decided to come here for lessons!Although I had some experience driving already because I took lessons at another school last year, I felt very unprepared so I decided to sign up for the 5 classes package (even though I added an extra two lessons later on). The receptionists were very nice and always helped me schedule my lessons. One great thing was that they would call me a day in advance to remind me that I will have a lesson the next day. I've had the pleasure of taking lessons with Julio, Santiago and Vic. They are all great teachers and gave me pointers that helped me pass the test. I passed my road test and have been driving for 2 months with a daily 2 hour commute between home and work with no issues at all, all thanks to Alpha Driving School. Like any business, they want to make money but they also take pride in their school and want to see you pass. You'll know what I'm talking about if you take lessons with them. The instructors identify where your weak points are and work with you to improve them. They have tips on how to turn, park, etc. Santiago and Julio are both excellent instructors, I strongly recommend you go with them. I also herd Vick is good. Read Less

I can't say enough good things about Alpha Driving School. First off, everyone is really nice. Every single person who answered the phone, scheduled my lessons, and called to confirm every week was lovely - and I've been taking lessons every week since January, after never having driven a car in my life! I had most of my lessons with Vik. He's a great teacher, he'll keep you laughing but also won't let you get away with staying in your comfort zone. He gives practice tests as well, leading up to the real thing, which was very useful. I had a few lessons with Julio as well and he was great. Upbeat, relaxed, and will show you a lot of tricks that make driving so much easier. I passed my test today with only 10 points! My husband and I came here after reading the positive reviews & we are so happy we did. We had 9 lessons with several instructors (Henry, Julio, Santiago, Ferris, & Vic) and all were VERY helpful, learned so many techniques and tips. We passed our test with just 5 and 10 points ! Great deals and learning experience! The instructors were very friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions and offered great tips! Passed the road test my first try! The secretaries were also super friendly and made sure to call me a day before my lessons/test to remind me! I wasn't aware of a restriction on my permit, they let me know as soon as they saw it and gave me instructions how to fix it!The reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the facilities could use an update. They are very very cooperative. Just a quick p.s., If you already have a little bit of stress about your road-test since it's your second time, you may take your classes with the younger instructor. Vic is a great instructor. I took lessons with him and passed the first time. I started out with Lenny who is also a great instructor and helped me master parallel parking in two tries. Abu and the lady who works there followed up with my lesson plan and rescheduled my test twice due to my availability. All in all, a great, no frills, driving school! Read Less

I had driven some with my parents before and I came to Alpha to schedule an appointment for a road test and use their car. With this I had one lesson with Henry right before the road test. The lesson was outstanding and although my chances at success seemed slim at first, Henry got me through throwing in jokes from time to time to create a great atmosphere which led to my passing the road test on the first try. Henry was very helpful and does a great job of preparing you for what the DMV looks for in your driving test. Alpha Driving School was more than helpful, pleasant and had exactly what I needed with the $125 package (1 lesson, appointment and car for road test). I would definitely recommend this place. And if you're looking for a teacher with a lot of experience and many jokes ask for Henry. Read Less

Having never driven a day in my life before and finding out we are moving to Florida in 5 weeks I knew I needed to learn to drive and fast! Alpha Driving School is AMAZING!!! Both my husband and I bought a package of 10 lessons each.I was petrified during my first lesson.  Poor Ricky kept telling me to give him gas and I refused to go more than 15mph! He was so nice and so patient with me. Alpha has a few different instructors and I can honestly say I didn't have a single bad experience with any of them and they all have their own style of teaching.  Ricky is absolutely wonderful! He will push far, far outside of your comfort zone but I needed that in order to learn.  Plus, driving with him is a party so get ready to have fun. Both my husband and I had the most lessons with Vik and we are both so, so grateful to him. Vik really loves what he does and he's so good at it! He too will push you far outside your comfort zone and will give you sample road tests before your actual test. I couldn't have passed my test (and with only 10 points) without Vik!Henry is a ball of super calm energy which is so, so helpful with someone like me who's super nervous and scared about driving. Honestly,  you cannot go wrong with Alpha. If one instructor isn't your cup of tea then you can ask for someone else. And it's good to have different experiences because you can learn different tips from each instructor. Someone mentioned in previous comments that the owner of the school is rude. Both my husband and I have been at the school almost every day for the last 2 weeks and the owner is the most gracious guy. He goes far and beyond for all of his clients. I only needed a single lesson so I took the $125 special. I ended up requiring an extra lesson before my class and the a school was accomodative enough to arrange it early in the morning. The teacher was very comprehensive with his lesson. We repeated parallel parking and 3 point turns upto 6 times. He was sensitive enough to provide me with sufficient morale boost. The owner (Aboshady? I think his name is) is very rude and unprofessional. After encountering him a few times since being there, I was very turned off by him. If you want to be treated like a human being, then go to a different driving school, there are plenty in Brooklyn! Read Less

Great school. I had classes with three different instructor, but I only had good experience with two of them. Most of my lessons were with Vic. He is a very good instructor, very informative and very calm with his students. The people at the school are all so friendly and price is reasonable. The five hour training course was very interesting and most informative. I thought it would be long and boring but it wasn't. I would most certainly recommend this school to others. Read Less

Getting my license was something I put off for a long time being someone who always lived in Brooklyn and worked in Midtown. I took the subway and cabs everywhere and then recently, my husband and I bought a home in a suburban part of NYC. It was finally time for me to get my license and I'm so happy I came to this school. I just passed the road test today on my first try! Woo hoo! I took the 5 hour course here a few months ago and completed 5 lessons before taking the test. I had two instructors - Vik and Zeke, who both gave me very good advice and offered constructive criticism. Vik helped me a great deal by giving me practice road tests during our lessons. I was able to see the small mistakes I was making and what I needed to be more aware of. This is a great place to learn how to become a better driver and prepare for the road test.Thanks guys! Great place to learn!  They are your no frills, teach you right kind of place.  I was not an experience driver when I purchased my 10 class pack, which included the test.  I search around and their prices are affordable, which helped sealed my decision.  Also, they were so warm and helpful.  Girls at the front desk we sweet, efficient and very professional.I took the 5 hour class with Vic and it was a whole lot better than I thought it would be.  Vic really focus on the people at the class and connected us to the material.  I also was lucky enough to have Vic as my instructor.  He is very laid back and likes to make things very comfortable.  He will not make you do anything that you are not ready for.While I let my nerves get the better of me on the first try, I did pass on my second shot. And could not have been happier with the results.  I would definitely recommend them for anyone who would like to learn. I've been taking five classes with Vik with a driver's test appointment and I've really enjoyed all my lessons with him, especially the last few when we were preparing for the drivers test and we spent the last 15 minutes of each lesson doing practice tests, in which he would tell me what I did right and wrong and how I could correct it.Vik is super funny, always has candy and snacks in the car, and is always open to questions and gives good answers if you're confused about anything. I just took the test with him after my last lesson (you always do your test with a lesson that morning so you can practice), and passed with 0 mistakes (perfect score baby!!). This is after having taken the test 2x with DYD Driving School and failing both times with a terrible stoic instructor who would sometimes smoke in the car while giving you his lessons. I am 100% vouching for Alpha Driving school. My sister has also come here and has been with Ziad, who she also really likes. Trust! A word to generally repute this very driving school, which still is an understatement. I'm a real New Yorker, and as every New Yorker, the taxi had gave me the impression that driving in NY became terrifying. However, Alpha had provided me with a great staff and teachers who helped me divinely to pass the test. I had all the teachers provided to me and I must say every teacher was great. Well, all teacher except the one beautiful girl, which I been told held great reputation. But if you were to go, I do recommend Vik and AbuSaddy, excellent teachers and excellent guidance. Took the 5-hour pre-licensing course today. I was expecting a boring class with mostly videos but instead I had attended a lively interactive lecture. Mr. Vic presented himself with the utmost professionalism, is an excellent communicator and teacher, and educated us on  various topics of driving including but not limited to laws, DUIs, distracted driving, safety, etc. he asked us questions individually and kept the class interactive, fun, and sprinkled in some humor as well. The videos we watched were an old school classic driving safety video and another one on distracted phone/texting while driving, extremely important in this day and age.
