I just got my license!!!! Vaswani himself was my instructor. A friend, who has been a licensed driver for about six years now, recommended him to me... and I also TOTALLY RECOMMEND HIM!!!! Vaswani is a very intelligent, knowledgeable, professional, patient, understanding, well informed, respectful, kind (yes I said kind), and all around excellent teacher and instructor. He asks you questions to make an assessment of your driving needs and your knowledge of what it means to be a driver, so that he can help you in the best way possible. And if you have questions for him, he is always willing to answer them. I totally appreciate his teaching style and the comfortable and real environment he created while teaching me to drive. He does what he says he is going to do, there are no surprises with him. He is definitely someone you want to do business with! He is very straightforward about everything, but most importantly, about what should and should not be done as a driver. I was referred to this by my boyfriend who also passed with this school. After meeting vaswani I knew instantly that this was the place to be. He's very caring, knowledgeable, and very considerate for those who have difficult work schedules ( me lol) but most of all he gave me the confidence and ego boost to believe in myself that I can do this. Thanks to Vaswani himself I passed my road test on the first try 6/9/17! He is an excellent teacher and teaches you the proper way to drive. He had confidence in me even when I didn't have any for myself. He's a very busy man with many students but he'll work with your schedule even if you have crazy work hours and children. I gave him a big hug and cried tears of joy after I passed! I would only recommend this driving school to family and friends who want to learn the right way. Bad experience,I had Elvin as a instructor. Most of the time he was a half hour late to pick me up in the mornings at the school. Instead of teaching me how to drive,he would be on his cell phone talking to his wife n daughter while directing me into super heavy traffic like Webster and gunhill. He never taught me how to park properly he would just watch me make mistakes n hit the brakes n say turn right turn left,see u got it. Then 3weeks later he would get upset if I made a mistake. I didn't not realize the flaws until a regular person taught me how to drive.(I learn more from YouTube n simply reading the DMV book.) He didn't START me off in a traffic free area. I paid for 11 lessons all the lessons were two, three weeks a part and I basically paid for him to stay on his cellphone. The very last lesson I had to payed for,he made me get out of the car n search for a ATM 5mins B4 my test instead of simply waiting to we get back to the school,he kept nagging and nagging about the $40 and stating MY BOSS IS A JEW. YOU KNOW HOW JEWS ARE ABOUT THEY MONEY,causing me to be upset and more nervous. This may be a good driving school but Elivn is not a good or caring instructor. Read Less

I took several lessons with Vaswani and I had nothing but positive experiences. He and his instructors are very knowledgeable and have the patience of saints. I promised to share my experience with Vaswani's Driving Academy AFTER I received my Driver's license. Proud to say as of January 31st, I am officially a licensed driver . If there's one thing I can tell you about Vaswani, it's the fact that he is 100% professional, patient, diligent, and extremely Knowledge about driving. It's clear that Mr. Vaswani has extensive experience in driving and has mastered the technique to prepare beginners for licensure. I came across this driving academy through a coworker of mine, who had recently obtained her license through Mr. Vaswani's driving academy. Since our jobs require utilization of company vehicles, I had no choice but to take some lessons and work toward my license. It took me about 7 or 8 30-45 minute lessons to become comfortable behind the wheel, (again) and to mentally prepare myself for the road test. Vaswani assured me that I was ready for the actual road test, and that was all I needed to hear. The day of the road test, Mother Nature thought it would be a grand idea to snow. . I thought, "isn't this just great?" I sent Vaswani a text to ask if the road test was still on, he said it was, so I got my life together real quick, and got ready for the big day! Upon my arrival, there were 2 other female students there as well who was also scheduled to take their road test. All three of us were shocked to know we would be going together. When we got in the car, Vaswani turned around and said to us "three licenses today!" We all said yes, and began heading uptown to the test site. Before the actual test, one of the students and myself took turns practicing. We parked, made turns, did a few 3-point turns, parked a few more times and then before we realized, it was time. One of the students went first, then I was second, the other went last. Needless to say, WE ALL PASSED, on the same day! Need I say more?! If you're looking for a driving school that's going to actually PREPARE you and give you the confidence you'll need to ace the road test... I recommend Mr. Vaswani's driving academy. My experience was nothing short of amazing and I have to commend Vaswani for what he does because learning a skill like driving, takes time, and that is something he ensures he tells his students. My advice to everyone is; Take your time learning how to drive, listen to the instructor, pay attention (always) and remember the brakes are your friend! What I will say is, nothing comes cheap, you have to spend a little, to get quality service. So don't look for the cheap route because you'll be only cheating yourself. I kept telling myself the day of the test I would pass, I told myself that would be the last money I spend trying to get my license. (Because it adds up.) I had really high hopes after the 5 hour class here only to be let down. My instructor is Dayanna and scheduling is the worst. My lessons are so spaced out that I everytime I get in the car it feels like the first time. Half the time I don't even feel as if I'm being taught, just told what to do but the problem is I have no real knowledge of the road and what's best. There's just very little clarity in her way of teaching. I do wish I could give a better review as she is a nice and patient person, but she just isn't getting the job done. Once I have my last lesson and fail the road test that follows, I'll be moving on to another school. Any recommendations yelpers?? Read Less

I had an amazing experience with this school. My instructor was Joey and he really put me through it in the best way possible. He made sure to prepare me for every situation I could encounter on the road. I already came into my lessons excited to learn but by the end of our time together I felt very confident and secure about driving alone on the road. Be certain to read the DMV book. I got my license today thanks to Elvin ...I took my last two lessons and my road test with Vaswami and he was great but the confidence Elvin instilled in me was invaluable...I recommend this school to anyone who needs to learn how to drive....if you don't believe me just check the google reviews they have almost 90 5 star ratings I think that speaks volumes....PS they are instructors not magicians of you've never drive before don't expect to be a Nascar driver after ten lessons.... I am not sure why people have left negative reviews because this is the only instructor who was able to get me to pass my exam. I have failed this test so many times that I had pay the DMV $10 to be able to take the test again. Yes I am serious I failed 5 freaking times! I have went to 4 different schools, all highly recommended. And each instructor told me that I was a great driver and that I would pass. But each time I failed. This issue is not that I am a bad driver, it is my anxiety. I would be fine during the 45 minute driving lesson, but then panic during the test. I remember once that I was so scared the text examiner told me to speed up. I didn't even realize that I was driving only 10 miles an hour! I went to Vaswani as my last resort. I was really prepared to accept that I would never pass this test. After my first lesson, he asked me why did I think I didn't pass all those times. I told him it was my anxiety during the exam. Instead of just saying that I will be fine like the other instructors, he told me that he wanted to see me drive in a stressed environment. So for the next lesson he scheduled it for 5pm and we went to Broadway near 231 Street! One of the busiest streets during the worse time! I was sooo scared! I literally made all the mistakes that I usually make during my driving tests! From then on he was able to help me correct each of the mistakes and to keep calm when I feel panicked. He was the only instructor to really identify my problem and offer real solutions to help me.And on my first test after taking 3 lessons from him-----I FINALLY PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was so awesome!! I was shocked when I read everyone else's reviews on yelp. I did not have that experience with him. I will say that the best way to reach him is on his cell phone, but and he always responded to my texts and calls. He is one of the best instructors in the Bronx and trust me, I should know because I have worked with 5 different instructors. He was the only to help me pass. I really really recommend him! Read Less
