The Janice Driving School is a very good school. The instructors who work there helped me a lot with the driving courses and showed me the techniques for parallel parking and the 3 point turn. They are very welcoming and they make sure that you pass the driving test. Aida is one of the best instructors in Janice Driving. She makes sure that the customers understand what they learn so they can become good drivers. That's what I like most about her. The driving instructors are helpful and they showed me how to park and make turns correctly if I made a mistake. They made sure that I passed even if I needed to take more classes for me to get better. Compared to other driving schools in the Bronx, Janice Driving is the best. I bought a 5 class package mid-June. The owner said my first class would be with him so he can gage how good I was behind the wheel. I assured him I had experience behind the wheel but he insisted he wanted to check it out. Great, I thought, he'll give me his "professional opinion" and so I was looking forward to it.Turns out the owner did not give me my first lesson as he promised instead I was placed with Ruben, another driving instructor, and although the owner of this place speaks English Ruben spoke strictly Spanglish but that was fine. Ruben was nice, funny, and made my driving fun even when I was tired and really didn't feel like driving. He focused on helping me parallel park and made me an OG in parallel parking which use to be my weakest point. Unfortunately I later learned this place can really use a lesson (or maybe 5) in PROFESSIONALISM. There were too many mishaps in the short amount of time I did business with them. From the beginning (the owner not giving me the first lesson he promised and never giving a reason) to the last driving class: Ruben wasn't informed about the class I scheduled ON THE PHONE DIRECTLY WITH THE OWNER only 2 days before the actual lesson which resulted in me waiting 45 minutes for Ruben on a Sunday morning, a day they don't even open the business! What the hell? Thankfully Ruben was extremely apologetic and gave me the complete time (45 minutes). On this day I also learned that my driving instructor wouldn't be taking me to my test (which is actually common driving school custom) and that the car I had been driving wasn't guaranteed. How are you going to give me a different car with different features on the day of my test? Seriously? I quickly express my concern to the owner who tells me to be at the business at 9:30AM on the day of my driving test and assures me that I will be using the same car I've been driving. On the day of the test he calls me at 9:15AM to tell me to come in at 10:15AM instead of 9:30AM knowing damn well I was already on my way. He was totally unapologetic when he arrived at 10:20AM (I waited outside a closed business for about 50 minutes). His wife rudely arrived before he did, opened up shop without an "I'm sorry," a valid reason, or a "good morning." So I angrily sit there waiting to take my driver's test. When the owner arrives he ignores me sitting there and eventually tells me we are heading to the test site. And of course he brings me to a car I haven't driven. I'm pissed off but I kindly remind him of our conversation. His wife says I should take the new car because it's a "nicer" car. I wanted to scream but politely reminded her that it doesn't make any sense to get to know a new car on my test day. The owner then takes me to the car I'm familiar with. Seriously? AND ON TOP OF THAT HE BRINGS HIS SON TO THE TEST SITE WITH ME. Like why is this child in the car? SO UNPROFESSIONAL. It felt as though he was doing me a favor by driving me to the test site. I pass my driving test, mostly because I've been driving without a license for awhile and Ruben taught me how to be an OG with parallel parking but honestly, the lack of professionalism from the owner(s) was appalling. I HATE when people don't care about my time. Who's giving money to whom here? There were no consequences for them when they were unprofessional or wasted my time but when I was late to a driving class ONCE (because of a train delay) the owner's wife was very quick to call me to inform me that I will lose time from my class. But when they made me wait outside a closed business for almost an hour did I get compensated for that? Absolutely not. They were smiling and "nice" at the end, happy that I had passed my driving test but that doesn't make up for unapologetically wasting my time on numerous occasions. I have totally experienced better (2 years ago at another driving school) and although this place is way cheaper in comparison to other driving schools I guess sometimes you do get what you pay for. I say take your money to a more professional place... this place isn't worth the hassle. Read Less

I highly recommend Janice driving school. The teachers at that facility care about their students and encourage them to do their best while learning. I went to several driving schools before this one and It was a joke . This school teaches you and there's no games. I had no experience , took a few classes and passed the first time taking my road test .
