I attended this driving school thanks to the GI BILL. Thanks to the military and VA department. The staff at EZ Wheels were very professional. Very helpful. And patient. The course was easy. Ok so here's my story! I waited until the last minute to get a driving instructor and it was the stupidest decision I've made in a very long time! I called this school and was told that they had no openings.Got a call from Giovanna saying that she got me an instructor for a 2 hour training the day of my driving test!!! I was so happy and worry at the same time! Well I got the best of the best and I passed my test. Maria is very straight to the point and tells you what you need to hear! She will make you feel pathetic and worthless.  She was aggressive, impatient, physical, and insanely rude.  A few comments from her - "you are a pathetic driver", "my 17 yr old drives better than this", "you can never learn driving, so stop taking classes", "you can never clear the road test", and finally "you wasted my 2 hours, I don't know why I taught you". The first driver I had did not speak English very well. Sometimes he would say "No... bad!" but could not explain in English exactly WHAT I was doing wrong. I tried to understand his Spanish, but I could only make out a few words. In light of the language barrier, the school offered me a free one-hour lesson, which I very much appreciated.The following day, I had a ride with Rudy who he was unbelievable-- truly a compassionate instructor who is able to encourage the driver while offering useful tips and tricks along the way. If the review was based on Rudy alone, I would be giving this place 5 stars.If you want to learn how to drive, or just need a refresher course, I highly recommend you request Rudy-- I couldn't have asked for a better or nicer instructor. Instructors are supposed to make you feel secure, comfortable, and positive. They should not be on their phones or talking to you with such condescending tones the entire time you're trying to LEARN how to drive. My instructor made me feel like complete shit. I got my license like over a year ago but I never drove after that. As a New York resident, all you need to get around are trains and buses. I thought learning to drive in New Jersey would be more comforting but she made me feel like I didn't deserve my license. Well obviously, I know I'm not a good driver, hence, the reason I'm paying for driving lessons and not driving until I feel prepared. My experience was just outrageous. EZ Wheels needs to train their instructors to be more kind and empathetic towards their student drivers. Students or beginner drivers should not have to feel so badly about themselves. If you can't instruct with some courtesy, don't be an instructor. So disrespectful and unprofessional. I read a lot of bad reviews about EZ Wheels Union City before I made an appointment but I had some good faith. Obviously, I was completely wrong. If you use this school, I DO NOT recommended the instructor MARIA (I believe that was her name, she told me she was Dominican if there's more than one). I got picked up at my house 10 mins before my lesson and there was another student driving. When it was officially my turn, he pulled over, and we switch seats. I then proceeded to fix the seat and adjust my mirrors because the other student wasn't my same height. My instructor than proceeded to tell me, "you automatically failed." I asked her why, and she told me that I wasn't allowed to fix my mirrors. We then got into an argument for 6 mins because it clearly states in chapter 3, page 44 under "starting a parked car" of the handbook, "inside and outside rearview mirrors should be adjusted." She finally gave up arguing with me and said let's drive because we were wasting time. This woman was very arrogant. When parallel parking I mentioned causally that my other instructor taught me differently sooo, she told me, in a not so nice tone, that she's been working for 15 years and that she's the one that mainly trained all the other instructors and if the other instructor taught me differently it's because she wanted me to park it wrong so that I would have to fix it. (My other instructor did not purposely do that). She also told me not to fix my wheels (put them straight) after parallel parking when the book also says to put them straight and center yourself. The worst school ever dont waste money on crappy training all those who are looking for their CDL dont go their staff is un professional let alone disrespectful. The instructors are also rude the day of test day the instructor gave us a bad truck for the road test. the stick shift was bad and did not the the way i want it this occured in wayne nj MVC all students including myself failed. Not to mention ez wheelz kept switching me with different instructors that made things worst. Another instructor by the name of Armando was good a instructor but they changed him next day pass . I overheard him talking to his co worker im not training this guy due stating im always nervous as i was evesdropping  said overheared him stating a rude comment with his worker so for future reference before planning to get your cdl dont go to these small bussinesses. I was so disappointed with this school, my fiance was so eager to get his forklift license last year, so we did or research and or closest and most convenient location was ezwheels. So I accompanied my fiance, the ladies at the counter were pleasant they even offered me some coffee they had purchased etc. So my fiance finally finished; I believe he was there for maybe about an hour or so he watched videos, those videos that he watched there he previously had seen on YouTube, regardless they did not allow my fiance to watch any more videos since he only made a payment of one hundred and fifty dollars, he needed to pay the rest to continue to watch training and safety videos that remained and to go practice at the yard they have in Secaucus, well my fiance paid the rest in a couple of days he came back and they ladies weren't organized to enough to give him the correct video that followed instead he had to come back up and say I watched this video already, very unprofessional of a school. So when it came time for my fiance to practice and meet his instructor, the instructor was waiting in his kia car mindless to say there is no office at the yard so we had to stand and wait till the instructor felt like coming out of his car...anyways, after an hour of waiting I needed to use the rest room and as I proceeded to where they were the instructor was on a chair/stool on his cellphone constantly not paying attention what my boyfriend was doing, how rude!  My fiance said he was very impatient, unorganized, unprofessional, and dishonest. He promised to give my boyfriend his license, two weeks passed and ezwheels did not contact us so we called and the lady was very rude on the phone with my fiance she said that "the course is very easy and that anyone can pass it" also they were annoyed that my boyfriend didn't have a drivers license, I ask myself why didn't they explain all of this from the beginning, the lady insinuated my boyfriend was stupid or something with those responses and opinions of hers', the only good thing was that they refunded his money. SCAM ALERT...I WENT TO THIS SCHOOL TO RENT A TRACTOR TRAILER FOR MY CDL A ROAD TEST...I EXPLAINED TO THE LADY ALL I WANT TO DO IS RENT A TRACTOR TRAILER FOR MY CDL A ROAD TEST...I'VE HAD A LOT OF TRAINING IN SOUTH JERSEY WITH A COMPANY THAT I WAS GOING TO WORK FOR, BUT THEY SOLD THEIR JERSEY FACILITY AND NOW ONLY OFFER TRAINING IN INDIANA. SO TOLD LADY I ALREADY HAVE MORE THAN BASIC DRIVING SKILLS...ALL I NEED IS A TRUCK AND TRAILER FOR THE ROAD TEST...SHE WAS TRYING TO SELL ME ALL KINDS OF TRAINING PACKAGES...AND THE REAL KICKER IS WHEN I FINALLY CONVINCED HER I DON'T NEED ANY MORE TRAINING THAN I ALREADY HAVE TO PASS MY ROAD TEST.. This school is great. The people working there are extremely informative. They take you from A to Z with no problem. Victor is very helpful no matter what you are trying to overcome or master. Now they are GI Bill approved...that's great for our boys who come back & need to get a job. Here they can get licensed to drive a bus, trucks or a forklift...it's good to give back. I had a horrible time with this company. They were very unprofessional and most of the time very patronizing whenever I needed to speak with them. The only good thing is that I had a very good instructor, Gerry, who was very helpful and knowledgable. I heard stories about driving schools but never expected to be this bad. My advice would be to do a thorough research before committing to one. In my case, I can only offer my advice to stay away from E-Z Wheels Driving School. Read Less
