Wow! My daughter had an appointment and tried to reschedule 2 days in advance and the owner wouldn't reschedule because he is a rude and nasty SOB. ITS NOT LIKE WE CALLED THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT. When I did my six hours I went with Frank and he was rude and inconsiderate yelling at me for going to fast when I had just got in the drivers seat of a car for the first time in my life. For my pre test refresher course I went with the other guy who wasn't much bette. When we did the parallel parking practice he just expected me to know things and when I made an error he yelled like I am an experienced drover that should know this, but I have never parallel parked other than for the six hours like most other kids. He was also very vague with his directions and yelled at you for not understanding exactly what he meant and where he wanted you to go. I pulled up to a stop sign where i couldnt go straight and he started shouting out me for just sitting there but he hadn't told me a direction to go yet but he was very sure he did. And then on the way there I was going 2 mph over the speed limit and he got very angry and yelled saying I was going to fast and I should know better. I did a total of 4 hours in two lessons, and today my road test and I passed! I couldn't be more than happy with the school specially James the owner and a great instructor! Love these guys, I took my road test with two other schools and failed both time. Three of my friends said We told you to use real deal , so this time I did and they taught me how to real park and hand I didn't even know I had to do hand over hand turning. They made me do it 12 times on my own till I got it down pack unlike the other schools who kept directing me in the spot . Anyway I passed and am so happy now. Thank you so much def recommend them . If you are somewhat confident in your driving skills before taking your 6 hours, I would recommend this school as it good on your wallet. My first time behind the wheel went well, and I did not experience any of the yelling and screaming that I have seen being described in other reviews. I learned things such as the K-turn and parallel parking with ease with my instructor, and driving was a breeze. The reason I am giving three stars is because of some lack of professionalism. My instructor used language frequently and would sing and turn up the radio often which was a little distracting. I would recommend the Real Deal Driving School. James Scalera the owner helped my 16-year old with driving lessons to get her permit. She was comfortable with him, and he complimented her on her driving skills. Took her to NJ Motor Vehicles and she got it! Thank you Jim for this! No problems here. Read Less

Instructor is a loud and rude old man named James. He yells and insults you during your "lesson". I was very nervous when he told me we had to drive outside of the parking lot because I was so stressed out by his bad attitude. If you want a good driving school please go to anywhere else but here. Do yourself a favor and avoid this school. We chose it, because it was $50 less than other schools in the area, but the cheaper price was not worth it. We should have known better. We picked 2x3h option and the instructor didn't show up for the second class (which happened to be on Sunday at 10am). We didn't get any calls about cancellation, so we kept calling the school, but the calls went straight to voicemail. Finally, they called us back at 6pm (8 hours AFTER the scheduled appointment), to yell at us that we didn't pick up the phone (we checked all the phones in the house, nobody called us). Apparently, the instructor wanted to cancel the lesson, because she was scared of driving in the rain. Yes, that's right. The instructor was afraid of driving in the rain (it rained for 5 minutes in the morning and then it barely drizzled). That should tell you all you need to know about the quality of the driving education provided by this school and about the level of professionalism (or rather lack of it) that they display.Read Less

My instructor made my 6 hours a terrible experience full of stress and anxiety. Sure, he did teach me a lot, but the constant yelling and 'witty remarks' really threw me off. You'll be really uncomfortable with a person who won't ease you into driving; he'll just throw you onto a highway right away. I'm not too keen on driving now after having a man yell at me for 6 hours and sarcastically complement my turning. Go somewhere else. Read Less
