My son used Elia at FNL Driving School and was very happy with her teaching abilities! He completed his 6 hours with Elia to get his permit and also used her for a warm up on the day of his road test, as well as taking him to the road test. She was able to instill confidence in him while teaching him how to drive. In addition, she prepared him for exactly what the road test would be like. They're instructors are great. The kids passed.. BUT...their customer service is horrible! They never answer the phone. Trying to get an appointment, or anyone to call you back is about 3 weeks worth of leaving 20 messages. I really don't know how they stay in business. Thank you FNL, I made a Yelp account just so I could leave you guys a positive review!A week and 2 days ago, I took my road test at Lodi and got my license thanks to FNL! I called two weeks before my road test with NO driving experience whatsoever (parents wouldn't allow me to use their cars), and they managed to fit 3 lessons for me into their schedule on such short notice.I'm 19 and I never got my license at 17 (never even attempted to take the road test) because I had a driving instructor that constantly yelled at me and it ended up giving me driving anxiety for the next 2 years. But during my lessons with Fred, his patient and calm demeanor definitely rubbed off on me. He chided me slightly at one point for driving too fast, but I definitely needed that haha. He was very good at explaining certain things about driving in a way that made sense to someone who was as inexperienced (and afraid) as I was.On the morning of my actual road test, the instructor who drove me to the MVC was Dane. I loved him! We first did a mini review lesson on parking and I asked him millions of questions. He was extremely helpful and even gave me some tips that helped a lot on the road test. I had barely slept the night before and was basically shaking from nerves as we drove to the MVC because I really wanted to pass on the first try, but just talking to Dane made me feel 100x more at ease. He's such a friendly and calm guy, he made me feel very comfortable behind the wheel, which was a pretty big deal for me with my driving anxiety.All in all, my experience with FNL was really awesome and I'm most likely going to send my little brother there for his 6 hours. Hired them only because of Yelp reviews. I mean, how the hell else am I supposed to know a good driving school from a bad one? My older son tried once to get his license when he was 17 and failed miserably. Some people excel at certain things. He is a wiz at math and statistics but sucks behind the wheel. Fortunately he lives in a large city so a driver's license is more of a convenience than a necessity. Called and spoke with Nancy and enrolled Brandon the same day. She was more than helpful. I explained to her that he would be a handful and asked her to assign someone patient. I wish I could remember his name because he was terrific. Very patient, informative and a hell of a nice guy. I can't recommend F N L Driving School enough. My 17 year old daughter passed her road test the second time and I believe it was largely due to the guidance that Fred Lustenberger (the "F" of F N L Driving School) gave her. My daughter failed her first road test and this made her extremely anxious about her second attempt just a little over a month afterwards. We got in contact with F N L Driving School and right off the bat I knew I was dealing with some great people. Even before I booked an appointment, Fred Lustenberger (the "F" in F N L Driving School) gave me good advice about the NJ road test. We booked two appointments with F N L and these extremely helpful. Fred seemed to know a lot about the NJ road test course in Wayne and Lodi as well as driving in general. He was always calm, patient and most important of all, encouraging. My son is 15 and I know I will be contacting F N L for him.There are a lot of driving schools in northern NJ and unfortunately it is very difficult to determine which ones are really worthwhile. Please take my word for it here that F N L Driving School is worthwhile. It is a great place to learn to drive or brush up before the road test. Outstanding! Read Less
