The only reason I'm giving this place three stars is because of the one cool instructor. Carlos is annoying and rude as hell. He yells at every little mistake you make, after the fact. He doesnt even warn you of the mistake youre about to make! It's very unnerving when you're a first time driver and you have someone yelling in your ear. The other instructor was great. He taught me to parallel park in less than 30 mins. He's very encouraging too. The girl at the desk... Just why? I made an appointment once, got there early only to be told that I didnt. I did. She made a mistake and instead of acknowledging that I had to stand there and argue with someone who clearly cared more about the picture she was drawing than her job. Read Less

Rude instructor treated my recently widowed mom with such rudeness and nastiness that she came home crying yesterday. My mom having been recently widowed just wanted to take some lessons so she could drive around town and go see her children who do not live in Newark. She was traumatized by the passing of my dad and was just starting to venture out when she encountered this ass of a Brazilian instructor who yelled at her the whole time. Just an awful experience...this has set her back weeks in her recovery and I just hope she is able to get in a car again to try and drive....please stay clear of this place until they fire this guy....more of a bully. I just got my license today on Valentine's Day..Carlos is great he is firm but you get results very good.. George is more mellow but also gets his point across..they speak Spanish there also.Carlos took me to the road test with other students..he is patient and overall waits for all students to get done.. Very inefficient. Lady at the desk should not be dealing with the public. I had called about a schedule appointment for my son that was paid for in advance and was clearly told by this lady at the desk that if i was late for my appointment I would not be getting a refund. OK so my son was there ten minutes early plus he had to wait an additional 30 minutes for the instructor to arrive for his appointment. When I called to ask why this was happening instead of giving me a professional explanation this lady was very rude in her response to me. However when the instructor arrived he was for apologetic and professional in explaining why he was late. But this lady was not nice. Read Less

I usually don't write reviews especially bad reviews! My instructor (I don't even know his name and I believe he is he only one there except the secretary) had a very nasty attitude to his student. His continuation of questioning my visibility and if I have read the manual to pass the knowledge test makes my feel terrible about my driving skills (come on I had license with another country for 8 years where traffic is lot worse). I had 2 lessons with him and next one would be the actual road test. God bless me to pass it. I only chose them because they have availabilities during that weekends and it is located in Newark area (This is another mistake I made of going there). Have to give this place two thumbs up. Very professional and cool school. Lucy the office manager is very sweet. The owner Carlos and one of the instructors, George are very cool. Carlos can be a bit tough but fair. George is a bit more patient and very cool. Either one instructing you is great and this school has great "red carpet" service. I recommend this school highly! I had an overall good experience with Atlas driving school. My instructor George was so amazing.  He went above and beyond to help me pass my road test which I passed on the first try. He was very patient and took his time to explain everything to me. Prior to atlas driving school Ive  taken 40 lessons with CEN driving school in NY but failed the roadtest twice. With Atlas, they really worked with me through the six lessons ive had with them. I  passed my roadtest with flying colors on my first try. Like any business Atlas isnt perfect. The receptionist there isnt very friendly and the car needs to be updated. The car is old but runs fine. Overall my experience with Atlas was great, I definitely would recommend this school to friends and family. Read Less

I did refreshing driving courses with Atlas driving school. First I started with Carlos who is also the owner, he was intimidating to me but really cool when you warm up to him. After my first lesson with Carlos, I toke lessons with George. I LOVE HIM. He is so calm, patient and really helped me prepare for my road test in Wayne. I passed my road test on the first try! Im actually going to take another lesson with them to learn how to drive on the highway. The receptionist I dont care to much for because of her attitude. Read Less
