On Monday August 20th my neighbor’s daughter was having her session with Howell Driving School, she clipped my mailbox with the cars side view mirror, and do you think the instructor came to my door to tell me?? No the instructor never did, the girl’s parents were nice enough to come over that night and tell me what happened and said check your mailbox. We always hear about people parking in a lot and someone hits there car and takes off, I now see why, what did that instructor tell the young lady, no one saw it don’t worry???? Read Less

Last year in June 2014 ... My 5 Stars are for the Overall Experience with everyone we've had contact through the Howell Auto Driving School. Especially much compliments to Instructor Tom, who was excellent in personality for training with my daughter during her 6hrs of lessons. He was very patient, and she was comfortable with his instructions during her lessons, as she came back from each lesson with confidence. Read Less

Don't use!!!! They picked up my Son at 09:20 for a 09:30 driving test in Eatontown from Howell. I called to complain and was given the excuse that the instructor was running late and was not a big deal. Now my Son is stressed beyond belief and may not be able to take the test on his birthday. Oh, by the way, the owner also hung up on me! Nice way to run a business! Read Less

I was very nervous going into the lesson, because it was my first time behind the wheel. Luckily, my instructor (Peter) was very helpful and informative, making me feel comfortable driving. We started in a development where I learned the basics, slowly driving around. Once I was comfortable and confident, my instructor took me out to some back roads, then eventually out to the highway. Later on, we ended back in a development where my instructor taught me what a K turn was, and how to execute it. We also went over parallel parking and backing up. Because I had such a great experience during my six hours, I was sure to have my refresher with the same instructor. Peter picked me up the morning of my road test, and he let me choose what I felt I should go over before my test. We focused mostly on parallel parking and did a few K turns, until I felt confident for my test. I passed! My overall experience with the driving school was wonderful, and I recommend it to everyone.Read Less

If you are looking to have yourself or your child be INSULTED, RIDICULED, and DISCOURAGED when learning to drive, definitely WASTE your money by giving it to these nasty people. After a bad experience at Freehold Driving School, I tried Howell Driving School, told them of my bad experience, & asked for a sensitive, RESPECTFUL person who would not yell & disrespect me, esp. because I have a slight learning disability. I was told I would be working with a very nice younger middle-aged person this time, named Tom, so I expected Tom when the car pulled up. instead, I got a cranky old man (Norman) with an attitude, who never told me his name and looked at me in a disgusting sexual manner that made me feel really uncomfortable. The first half of the lesson was tolerable except for the fact that their driving course is full of POTHOLES, BUMPS, RAGGEDY, & ON AN INCLINE. It was terrible for parallel parking & k-turns. The car was also very old & loud & the steering was 'sticky'. It felt slightly unsafe. At the end, as we were driving home I made a mistake at a stop sign, & he starts YELLING & INSULTING ME. I then became flustered, and my driving abilities instantly became compromised. As the insults continued, it really affected my driving. He sneered, "I shouldn't have said you were a good driver in the beginning, because I can see I was wrong!' He was not making a joke, he was very serious. It was outrageously RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, & INAPPROPRIATE. I can take constructive criticism, but he made me CRY once I was home. When I pulled up to my house to get out, I was going to say just a short, 'bye', and I expected him to do the same, but what he did was avoid eye contact & SLAMMED THE DOOR IN MY FACE & DROVE OFF. I was stunned. I went inside and called their phone #, crying. I asked to speak to an owner or manager, and gave a brief description of my complaint. I was told I would be called back by a manager. Immediately after, I was called by NORMAN himself, who sounded irritated & shocked. I hung up, as I did not ASK to speak with Norman. I assumed he was not supposed to be calling me as well. I l called again & left a message. I was called back by an equally nasty Joan, who did not apologise for what Norman did, did not offer a discount or partial refund, and sided with Norman and his claims, not willing to LISTEN to THE CUSTOMER'S EXPERIENCE. I was told to 'sign up for more lessons'(!) And that Norman was told to call me, *defend himself*(!) When I asked why Tom did not come as promised, she could not provide an answer. Do not go here. They do not care about their students, and only care about MONEY. If you have a valid complaint, they will not care or listen. Their management will be rude & not provide any recourse or even an apology. Screw them. Do not give these people business. Read Less
