Amazing school. Most of these reviews are from idiots who clearly thought their teenage kids could do it themselves. Obviously it costs money, and obviously if you mess up (IN A CAR) you're going to get yelled at. The teachers are personal, and unless you mess with the teacher, or are disruptive to the class, it's a great drivers ed school. Read Less

This place is a sham.My daughter had taken an online course which provided us with a certificate but not a blue card, we went to JDS to ask about getting a blue card. The woman sold us a blue card for 100.00.My daughter then applied for her permit, and passed her test, but in the meantime we received a call from JDS saying her permit had been revoked and she would have to retake the course in order to receive her permit.Fast forward to a couple months ahead and guess what? Her permit arrived in the mail. I called the state to ask about this and had her permit been revoked, to which they replied they had no record of this, and we would have received a letter if this had been the case. JDS was trying to get us to retake the course under false pretenses. Buyer beware. Read Less

The instructors are very personable. Some kids might get on your damn nerves, though, so if you're easily annoyed like me, find away to keep your nerves down.

We all remember those days when we were 14 when we realized that we would soon be getting our permit and that meant that we would be behind the wheel of a car! The most freeing thing that a teenager can do is drive! However, where do most people go to school to learn about the safety of driving, or for that matter, what resources do they use to schedule a behind the wheel so they can actually take their license exam?Well John's Driving School was my place of choice when I first wanted to begin that part of my life. And begin it I did! The classroom training is seriously boring... Like you have no idea, or maybe you do. But they bore you to tears with tedium about what signs mean, what lines mean, what to do if you see a car cross the median, etc. And then you take your behind the wheels with one of the people that John has a contract with. The instructors are VERY nice, professional, and best yet, they are patient. It is the training that I received here that allowed me to pass my drivers test my first time. It's the training I got here that saved my life. When I was living in California, I was driving northbound on the Intercoastal Highway, and a tractor trailer veered into oncoming traffic right at me. The training that I remember receiving from them that was hands on helped me to guide my vehicle into a ditch and instead of being killed by a semi, I scraped up the side of my car on a hillside, fair trade in my opinion. I would suggest ANY parent send their child here if they are learning to drive. Don't just leave your kids in the hands of a booklet, or with their school. Read Less
