I took a driver's test (not training) at this establishment and I honestly regret it. There was great customer service, very friendly people, and the instructor was patient and explained things thoroughly. However, the testing fees are ridiculous. I paid $50 for a test in which I failed the control test (it's my fault, I know, not blaming the instructor). But the fact that I'd have to pay an additional $50 to retake another test is insane! It should be free for a retake, or at least a discount on the next time I take it. I'm angry because they just made $50 off of me in 10 minutes. My real issue is that this is a black owned and operated business. There's so few around here, and I feel like they're ripping off their own people! I understand it's my fault I failed the test, but the testing fees need to be revised. There are other sites that offer free or discounted rates. Will not be coming back here! Read Less

Just left the testing site and failed, not because I can’t drive but because I wasn’t instructed properly on where to drive . The parking lot is the site of their first part of test and it’s set up horrible not to mention it was half shoveled. Places where there is suppose to be a line you can’t see because it’s a snowbank.No consideration that it was 7 inches of snow outside The instructor Mr Milton needs to learn how to instruct. Nice people but they were over 30 minutes late on starting our test today! I should've asked for my money back when he was over a half hour late, seriously, very unprofessional. So here's my real complaint they told me to go down a one way street that had no sign posted and the snow was horrible, I listened and went down the street as he told me and he gave me an automatic fail with no lenience. I couldn't believe it I was in shock, I did perfect on everything and did the parking great and I failed over him telling me and he knew it wasn't my fault but he said he couldn't change it because I broke the law by going the wrong way on a one way street where he told me to! I'm not familiar with Detroit streets and had no idea it was a one way. They told me to come back and test the next day and I would deff pass. HA sorry no. Never coming back. I called to schedule an appointment and they got me in the next day. The guy giving the test was informative and his instructions were clear,which I liked. I was a little nervous going in but my nerves settled and I did great.I passed, so glad I came here. Highly recommend:) Read Less

The workers are professional, and have positive attitudes. They are fair and everyone has an equal chance of passing, regardless of which examiner is chosen (Milton or Mario). My examiner's name was Mario and he was encouraging, patient and thorough. He gave clear directions for every exercise. My advice to future road test takers- read the "Drivers Road Test Study Guide". Which is available in print/download at the Michigan's Secretary of State Office or Website. Make sure you know what to do at a railroad crossing and how to answer the question, "what would you do if a car is coming towards you head on". Yes, you will have to reverse into a parking spot and do parallel parking- be careful not to hit the cones. :) Read Less

A family member referred me at HallStarz (A&M driver's testing) called and was able to take my test the next day. I took my road test today and as soon as I walked through the door everyone welcomed me with a smile. My instructor was Mario and he was amazing, encouraging, made me feel comfortable and he followed all rules of the handbook meaning he was very serious about your test. 5/2/15I took my test today, which was my first time and I passed! The people there are very positive and welcoming. My instructor was helping me through the process of parking and driving. He even made suggestions so that I could pass. Parking ws the hardest part to me. I was a nerve wreck going in there, but he made me feel comfortable. I have nothing but good things to say about A&M Driver Testing. They were very polite, lenient and professional during my road test. They were very clear in their instructions and even gave pointers. I know the area isnt the greatest but you wont find a better driving test place anywhere else. Milton, the driving test examiner is a very professional individual. He thoroughly explains every part of the road test and at the end of the test; he critiques every mistake you made. Road test can be highly nerve racking, but he has the ability to set your mind at ease with his pleasant attitude. It only makes sense if you dont know how to parallel park you shouldnt be driving. Especially in Detroit where you parallel park practically everywhere! The guy giving the test even gives pointers on how to park correctly. Keep in mind that they are not a driving school but a driver testing center. I took my test here and do not regret it :) Read Less
