Each time I called whomever answered the telephone was pleasant. When I went into the branch in July the older gentleman seemed rude but the young man I talked to over the telephone was very helpful and insisted on waiting on me. (The man's attitude should have been the first red flag) When taking my son for the road test, the instructor appeared to be nice. My son had segment 1 and 2, but just turned 18; therefore, I was unable to be in the car and since it was raining I did not stay outside to observe. I wish I had because I would have asked questions. From speaking with my son about the test, it seemed he was misinformed. He was told multiple times to restart parallel parking not knowing it was counting against him. The instructor should have advised him that points were being deducted each time he restarted opposed to encouraging him to start over. Well we all know how that went. My son only knew he did not pass the test because of parking; however, he was unaware of the amount of points deducted. If a parent had been present, I believe the outcome would have been different and at minimum we would have known how many points were deducted. I have reiterated to my child to ask questions as it never hurts. Funny thing is the driver prior to my son had multipleeeee chances with the instructor getting in and out of the vehicle with her and her parent. (Very suspicious) I was very hesitant to take him back to ADA and so glad I did NOT. Drivers beware this company took my money then when i had to retake a class that I couldn't take the day that it was scheduled they told me they would not give me my money back and that I had to pay additional money on top of that to retake the class. They had no days available at the time to reschedule me for another class so they told me I would be put on the waiting list for the next Date a time slot opens up within the time frame i was available and I would be the 1st to... know, no one else but me was on the waitlist, however they never called me. I went on their website a few weeks after and noticed they had timeslots added on the schedule I could of been called for and rescheduled but they failed to call me and by then the timeslots were booked. When i called the company to see why no one bothered calling me which at time was basically a month since the issue 1st occurred they said the person who put me on the list failed to mention it and he no longer works there. The lady on the phone said she will make sure i received a call once something opens up however im looking on their website now there are a bunch of open possible timeslots i could be rescheduled for however still no phone call at all. Coaches are very friendly. However, the service when I called was absolute and complete trash. The person I spoke to was extremely rude and had such an disgusting attitude when I was simply inquiring for information about rescheduling and refunds. He told me that there were absolutely no other classes available when I saw online that there was. He also hung up on me when I was in the middle of talking. I took my road test here and the instructor was very friendly. I was extremely nervous and the instructor calmed me down and was reassuring that I was doing a good job. I'm speaking for my wife here, who - as an immigrant - had a valid license from another country where the quality of drivers is not a cliche; it's just bad, bad, bad.In order to get my wife ready for her road test (having already passed the written), I hired Advanced Driving Academy to work with her in a way that I couldn't. Professionals, you know, don't cower and scream and shout "you almost killed us" when the student makes basic mistakes.And, I don't know if it's the instructor's charisma or good teaching habits, but she improved significantly! She no longer terrorizes me when I'm a passenger, and does all of the things that I told her she should be doing before she want to class.(She actually does have very kind words for her instructor, and wants to say "thanks!", too.)She passed her test and now has a valid Michigan license. If you're in the area and she's doing 40 in a 45, please have a little patience. I'll have her doing 50 in a 45 in no time! Read Less

I was scheduled road test and say the instructor was very nice and fair person!!! He made me feel very comfortable and gave some important instructions well in advanced. These teachers are teaching drivers to honk at cyclists and pass them in an unsafe manner. I hope they are shut down. A car is a dangerous weapon, and their job is to teach the student to safely operate it. Read Less

I would suggest not taking your child here. They failed my son by only 2 points and then tried getting him to register for classes through them. To me, it's all a scam! ADA is an excellent driving school as far as I am concerned! A few weeks ago, my son went on a Private Lesson with Michelle to get better acquainted with expressway driving and today he took his road test with Joe Hayes. Mr. Hayes gave my son very good tips on what to look for when driving and how to be a little less nervous in different situations. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THIS DRIVING ACADEMY!!! This owner is a retired police officer. This is a SCAM!!! My son is 18 years old. I paid $95 for him to take the driving test and the first instructor said that all he needed to do was look over his shoulder. Reschedule. We did that. He said all he needed to do was 10 more hours of driving. Great driver. So we appeared after we paid another $85 to retake the test and the OWNER said he was driving too slow to get on and off the freeway. Which one is it??? 12/11/11 My son did his testing here and had a great experience! We are a homeschooling family and they have classes especially for us with morning hours. The whole staff were very friendly and helpful. One of the families that did Segment 1 with us decided to use a different company for Segment 2 because it was closer to their home in Belleville where we are from also. She emailed me about how bad an experience it was and how she wished she had just went back to Advanced Driving Academy instead. We did both Segments and the road test with ADA and are extremely glad we did! They are just a little more expensive then other places but it is well worth it. My son had a great experience there and when my 11 year old is ready we'll be going there again. Two thumbs up to the whole staff!!! Read Less

8/9/11 I had a private drive with the company and the gentleman that stepped in to take me last minute was very kind. We had easy conversation and we spent my entire hour practicing parking. He showed me tricks to remember while taking your test and all of the anxiety of the test was taken away. After I practiced, I knew exactly what to do for my test and I understood everything a lot more. 8/12/11 I had my road test given by the owner, Leonard, and I had previously taken two more tests through the company. When I failed the first two, it was purely my fault as I didn't know how to park. Both men were kind in that they helped me understand what I did wrong before I left. They don't set you up to fail, they just want you to do well here. I can tell they want you to succeed. I went on to pass my third time with the help of the private drive. I absolutely reccomend this place. You wouldn't want your kid going somewhere that the instructor's don't care or they're rude as learning how to drive is scary enough.
