This company is based in Ann Arbor but does driver's education (both online and in-person) in Toledo, Ohio, too. You'll see their spiffy Kia Souls around the Toledo area, but don't be deceived by their nice cars - you should avoid this place for your child's driver's education. All Star is disorganized to the extreme. Allow me to offer the following examples:1) When my child completed enough classes to begin behind the wheel training, we called to put him on the list to be assigned an instructor. A few days later, an All Star employee calls me to ask where my son attends school, and could he possibly work with an instructor based at Clay HS in Oregon? Since that is 30 minutes from our home, I requested that the company look for someone a bit closer. All Star employee said they would assign him a different instructor. Three weeks go by without us hearing anything. I call the office again and ask whether my son has been assigned an instructor. A new All Star employee gives me the instructor's phone number, and I leave her a message. Turns out that this is the instructor based at Clay HS, 30 minutes away from us, and the company had never assigned my son a new instructor like the first All Star employee had promised. Another 2+ weeks go by before we actually are set up with a new instructor and she contacts us to begin scheduling. I understand that there can be a wait to schedule drive times, particularly in the summer, but this was just the hassle of getting my son matched with an instructor so he could get onto the instructor's schedule.2) My son actually had 3 different driving instructors for the 4 sessions. This was very confusing, since different instructors have different approaches. He received three separate sets of instructions on how to complete the maneuverability course/parallel park, and those instructions were inconsistent. I ended up telling him to follow the instructions that made the most sense to him (the second instructor's).3) One of those 3 driving instructors almost left the school thinking my son wasn't there for his session. Pickup is always in the back of the school parking lot - that's where All Star had its maneuverability cones set up all summer long. But this instructor apparently wasn't even familiar enough with the school to realize that. A fill in? A substitute? Who knows.4) The night before the first day of school, I got a text at 9:30 p.m. asking whether we could change the start of my son's final drive time the following day from 4 to 4:30. This was the first notice that I'd ever received that my son had a lesson the following day! My son participates in a fall sport at school and that time was right in the middle of practice, but I ended up telling him to skip practice just to finish the driving sessions and be done with this disorganized company. But then, after I'd told him to skip practice, the instructor texted me two hours beforehand to cancel the drive time altogether. In short, you and your child would be better off finding a different school in the Toledo area to teach your child how to drive. This one is just too disorganized and incompetent. In the end, my son did receive his driver's license, but it wasn't really due to anything All Star did. Read Less
