I'm so sorry to the instructors for giving such a harsh review; I drove with 4 different teachers and all of them did a fine job teaching parallel park, three point turn, and obeying the signs and traffic regulations. The reason why I am giving 1 star is because this school cancelled my test 2 times. I am going to an out of state college this fall and now I cannot walk around with a valid ID. The first time they cancelled my test it was excusable, but two times? My friends from Belmont and Waltam driving school had theirs as planned and never had the tests cancelled. My sister's friend had her test cancelled three times from Newton, and my mom asked other moms about this and many other kids had theirs cancelled at least once. This is inexcusable and I don't know why it's just Newton Driving School. I cannot apply to the DMV in Watertown because I would be in college by the time my test date arrives. I just don't know what to do and I feel disgusted by this kind of service. Had I known this would have happened, I would have just taken lessons here and applied at the DMV directly. Words can?t even begin to describe the frustration we felt in dealing with the Newton Driving School. We have never complained about something in this manner, but our experience with this business over the last 9 months has been the singularly most frustrating experience we have ever had ? and we are in our early 50?s!! Trying to communicate and schedule driving / observing appointments for our daughter was just unbelievable. As a result, the Russian owners seem to end up in verbal arguments with lots of customers, including us. The real problem is they have no scheduling system ? everything must be done through the owner and when you are lucky enough to catch her, she is rude and will not commit to anything, nor will she return your calls ? no matter how many you make. Everything is ?we?ll see ? let me pencil you in and get back to you? ? yet she will not call you back and when you do catch her she has ?forgotten? she penciled you in. We fell for it early on (first couple months after our daughter finished her class work), but then had to resort to camping out to catch the owner when she was supposed to be at their office and then we had to refuse to leave until she booked us an appointment ? it was unbelievable. If we didn?t have to give them 100% of our money up front, we would have gone someplace else early on. In an effort to try and say something positive, the instructors seemed ok and if you want an easy driving test ? take it through them ? it is a joke how easy them make it ? in many ways, the registry should be ashamed of letting them do license testing.
