A great school with exceptionally engaged instructors and an incredible staff as well. I want to especially mention Cynthia (who is an amazing teacher with a lot of patience and a great personality). I just had one lesson with her but she was amazing. I also want to say, a big thank you to Ian. Though I didn't do classes with him, he was present at the road test and put me at ease both times and walked through the whole process calmly and gave me a lot of last minute pointers which most definitely helped me with nailing it the second time around. But my biggest thank you would be for Bill who gave me a lesson a couple of days before the road test. He is such an exceptional instructor who went that little extra mile and totally made me confident about getting it right the second time around. Large room for the parents' class, and the instructors seemed to really care about the kids. They have a unique way of having each kid drive to the next one's residence to pick them up, and then, the next one drives the first home. No dropping the student off each time at the driving school. Top notch in every way, even taking care of the scheduling of the road test so no trip necessary to the Registry of Motor Vehicles like what most of the parents themselves had to do. Read Less

All my friends who have taken drivers ed elsewhere said it sucks and is so boring but I have had a really fun entertaining experience at needham, while still learning a lot! I came to Needham Driving School in hopes of becoming a safe, well-educated driver. I had Meagan as a teacher and I feel very prepared to take my permit test. She has a very good way of interacting with students, and does not make the class boring. She reminds us the rules of the road and gives real life examples which help prepare us more for our experience on the road. Read Less

Not only is Needham driving school a great place to send your student to learn safe driving habits, it's also a great place to work if you are a responsible instructor looking for a great job. I worked with Paul and Katie for years and they are truely committed to education. Driving schools are a unique business because they require the owner to be a dubious teacher, education and activist as well as a businessman. Paul commits himself to drivers education--not to getting rich quick or screwing over parents and instructors. Just had a wonderful experience with the school. The family that I nanny for have a teenaged daughter who recently completed the program. Our schedule is busy with 3 other younger kids (activities, sports etc) and my bosses were able to comfortably fit her lessons in to our daily routine with the help of the receptionists. Each time I interacted with any of the employees they were pleasant. Jillian truly enjoyed going to driving class each time (whereas I remember dreading it in high school). Paul and his crew have a really great approach to teaching. The key being their demeanor. Many of us recall drivers ed with ex drill Sgt.s who failed to realize we were only kids who needed to learn how to drive in a safe, controlled environment. Thanks to Needham Driving School, the safe, controlled environment exists with friendly, knowledgable, and charismatic teachers. Growing up in the city, I never had a reason to get a driver's license (I relied on public transportation instead). Having recently moved to the 'burbs, I decided it was time to procure a means of transportation other than the Boston area commuter rail and bus lines. After an exhaustive search for driving schools, and many calls to nasty receptionists at all of the aforementioned schools (which shall remain nameless), I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful individuals at Needham Driving School. What a difference! Kind, patient and accommodating folks who are eager to help and don't growl at you on the phone. Truly refreshing, and quite frankly, totally smart move on their part. My instructor, Mr. Cam, is patient, considerate and always encouraging.
