Nicastro's Driving School dba Beverly Driving School have been around for nearly three decades. We are a family owned business that pride ourselves in "Driving Towards Excellence." We have licensed over 15,000 motorists, have given over 150,000 hours of professional driving instruction and have proudly covered the North Shore over the past three decades. Our goal is to teach defensive driving techniques and prepare motorist to drive safely, on their own, once they pass the license exam. Unfortuntely, the two poor reviews below are people 18+ plus that did not take our advice and gain the proper driving instruction and failed their license exams. As in Allie, she was one of the worst customers in the history of our driving school and she never had one professional driving lesson with us. She messaged us to schedule her a license exam, in which we did. Stating, her permit was expiring and needed a road test asap. We scheduled her a license appointment within two weeks of her phone call to Nicastro's. We highly recommended atleast one driving lesson before her scheduled test, however, Allie was a 30+ year old know it all, that said, with a deep smokers voice, I don't need a lesson I drive better than anyone you know. I reitterated to her, the RMV looks for consistency in proper maneuvers and are strict with proper habits (checking blind spots, complete stops, blinkers). In which Allie failed at all of the above. To make a long story short, she failed her test before getting out of parking lot. The examiner stated, you really need some driving lessons, she freaked out on the examiner, the instructor, called and left a nasty message at the driving school and then a horrible review. Why? All because she's a know it all and horrific driver, that refused proper profession instruction. It's asinine, people like Allie can leave a horrible review, while professional businesses work hard day in and day out to be the best they can be. As in Allies lies regarding 11 complaints and the registry doing an investigation. That's laughable. You can go on RMV website and look up driving schools that are under investigations, I can guarantee Nicastro's dba Beverly Driving School aren't one of them. Neither one of my schools have ever had a trustworthy complaint to the Registry of Motor Vehicles. The lies from people like Allie and Sofya are do to the fact they failed their license exams. For one reason and one reason only, they have no clue how to drive and took no advice from a 30 year old seasoned professional driving school like Nicastro's. The advice I'd give these two license day failures is to be careful of Slander. An attorney would love to make an example out of either one of you for slandering a great business as Nicastro's or Beverly Driving School. A poor review all because you share one common interest, Failed License Exams. Next time take advice from Professional Businesses and don't cut corners, literally. #therehas2bbetterguidlinesformonitoringlowlifereviewsongoogle. Read Less

Unprofessional "sponsor" ...paid lots to test she wouldn't shut up....requested she would not show me "course" she ignored my request (i paid her). Reported to rmv they confirmed that no driving school should ever "show" course. Apparently rmv investigating nicastro on 11x complaints in 90 days! Do not pay $200.....so many other schools from lynn to beverly charge $75-115 for "sponsorship" and everywhere except nicastro gives you 3-5 min in car prior to test and doesn't try to bilk a "class fee'" from you! Their sponsorship fee is 1.5-2x anyway....oh and they text test administrator....ma rmv states this is "disallowed" by any driving school at any rmv road test site. Read Less

Sophia???...Unfortunately, I don't think you were honest about one thing you said, accept Nina is a "sweet kind lady."  I've been a teacher,  driving instructor and varsity softball coach for over 2 decades. Excluding you, their isn't one person that would confirm,  I've yelled at them. I couldn't tell you the last time I raised my voice. Not even at my own kids. There's no need for me to raise my voice, yelling doesnt accomplish anything. Lie #1Secondly, to say we only cater to wealthy people is hilarious and disgusting. I grew up in the inner city, across the street from St. Ann's Church, far from a wealthy area. I'm damm proud of my up bringing and where i came from, Burnham's field lifer. I know first hand, what it's like to grind it out, day in and day out. My family was low income for many many years, and that's ok, we had a great up bringing, with enormous amounts of love. I'm very proud at the accomplishments and hard work that my parents instilled into my brothers and I.  We would never discriminate, against the so called low income. In actuality, it's the complete opposite. I would give the shirt off my back to anyone. Anyone that knows me, would put you right in your place at those comments. Lie #2For me to go on and on is a waste of my time. The fact is you failed your license test. Typically, people that fail anything in life, which, I like to say, wasn't their day, look for scapegoats. Instead, of looking into the mirror.  The ones that look into the mirror, work harder and turn the finger around on themselves, instead of pointing elsewhere. Typically, rise from their tough day, learn from it and never let it happen again.  Nobody ever yelled at you, not once did you ever complain to me about an instructor, the list of your lies goes on and on.  Your not in business for over three decades, in three different locations (Gloucester, Danvers and Manchester by the Sea) if your not satisfying atleast 95% of your customers. Unfortunately, in life you can't satisfy everyone. Your one of the 5% of outcast. I'll take 95% of the Nicastro's Driving School supporters, who truly know us and our Family.  Your probably one of the driving schools struggling to make it and filled yelp with a boat load of lies or your just an angry person, who's looking for a scapegoat. I'll take constructive criticism any day, if it's the Truth.  It only makes me and my family owned business stronger.  Lie #3,4,5,6,7,8 & infinity.Either way, I can proudly say, Nicastro's Driving School is an amazing family owned business. I'm proud to be the third generation, my kids will be 4th generation and Nicastro's will be training thousands and thousands of kids throughout the years to come. We are one of the longest tenured and most respected driving schools in the State of Massachusetts. Now, the people that really know the Nicastro's Driving School Family please add real reviews.Thank you and sorry for the rant. However, our family works to hard to let lies fill a review board. Read Less

Unprofessional school with poor management and unqualified instructors. On my second behind-the-wheel class my instructor Mr. “W” started making fun of my accent, then after 5 minutes of my driving lesson he asked me to get out of the car and sit in the passenger sit, so he let the other kid drive for about 20 minutes straight while I was paying for it. I complained about this situation to John John Nicastro and he did not do a thing about it. When I was no longer a part of the school, I found out that Nicastro used my SSN to schedule me a road test. He never informed me about it, never asked my permission and never asked my confirmation. I was lucky enough to find out about this scam early so I was able to cancel the date without any charges from RMW. Read Less

Customers are not the priority for this business, your wallet- oh, yes!   In March 2017 I signed up online to attend 30 hrs lecture classes first. John John Nicastro confirmed  through the email that I was all set. When I showed up for my first lecture I was not even on the list. Great start! Well, I thought I could deal with it and did not say a word  about this.  After I completed  Driver`s Education classes I scheduled my behind -the-wheel lessons.  I would like to mention that I was driving before so I was not  completely new to the driving. On my second class my instructor Mr. "W" started  making fun of my accent, then after 5 minutes of my driving lesson  he asked  me to get out of the car and  sit in the passenger sit, so he let the other rich kid drive for about 20 minutes straight while I was paying for it.  I complained about this situation to John John Nicastro and he did not do a thing about it. Otherwise, he got pissed at me for mentioned such a thing. Are you serious? Do you even know that it is a lawsuit - I am paying for something I am not getting. Ok, I swallowed that as well while paying Nicastro for 11 more lessons.   Next  - the road test.  I had to wait about a month between my last driving lessons and the road test -  so you basically start losing some of your skills and you need to get some extra classes with Nicastro`s to  refresh your skills. Ok, I go to the road test, I failed - my fault. Nicastro was sitting in the passenger sit in the car while I was taking a test  - so he knew what I was doing wrong. After  the road test was over he did not even bother to go over my mistakes ( I expected him at least to take some notes about my driving and tell me afterwards where I needed some improvements). No way - he just ignored me like I was not even there. He basically said " You did horrible - take more classes with us". Moreover, they promise you to use the same car you are trained while taking behind-the-wheel lessons. Wrong! They use a different car with "Nicastro`s Driving School" name on it. Be prepared guys!  Also  one of the  school owners asked me who my instructors were - I mentioned the names. She said that they were not experienced enough to teach and I need to take a specific instructor. That was John John Nicastro who assigned those inexperienced instructors to me so I could successfully fail my test (like most of the students at this school) and take more classes with Nicastro.  Why would not you just  give students good instructors who know what they are doing? Why do we have to pay twice for a poor service? Great job guys!   To cut the long story short, after my unsuccessful attempt to pass my road test I scheduled additional driving lessons with Nicastro spread out in time to my next road test. Nicastro scheduled me the classes and forgot to inform my instructor about them. He also forgot to reschedule my second attempt to take a road test so I wasted about a month and a half relying on Nicastro`s Driving School.  After that, I had a hard time getting a hold of Nicastro. When I finally caught him - he was rude to me and accused me of being a liar. He said that I never scheduled additional classes with him. Nicastro, next time just accept that you messed up - life happens -  it is better than fighting with your customers, who are actually paying you are lot of money!     At the end of July, when I was no longer a part of Nicastro`s school, I found out that Nicastro used my SSN  to schedule me a road test. He never informed me about it, never asked my permission and never asked confirmation of the day. I was lucky enough to find out about this scam early so I was able to cancel the date without any charges from RMW. Watch out your personal information with this school! With an attitude like this - good luck running your business!   Overall, if you are super wealthy they will be all over you, otherwise, stay away from this place. Nicastro does not accept any complaints or constructive criticism at any form. He will get angry and start making fool of you. The school will assign you to unprofessional instructors so you can fail your first road test and take more classes with Nicastro`s Driving School. However, I must be honest and say something good about the school as well. The instructor Nina is the kindest sweetest lady I have ever met. She  is a wonderful person and I would strongly recommend her as an driving instructor at this school. Otherwise, there are so many other great driving schools that will teach you how to be a defensive driver.  Do not let Nicastro`s Driving school rip you off. Do not let them waste your time. Do not let them make you an idiot. Skip Nicastro`s and go somewhere else. Read Less

My son went to this school before getting his license.  The day we went to the registry to get his license the registry charged us for two road tests which was clearly the driving schools error.  So I had to pay $120 instead of $60.  I called the driving school regarding this and they of course blamed the registry.  Now how would the registry even know my sons information unless someone scheduled a driving test.  The first test was dated the same week he had just started driving school classes simple mistake on their part but the school wouldn't even refund their mistake or acknowledge it.  Just good information for people looking for a school that backs their services because this one clearly did not. I was searching for Nicastro's phone number when I saw a recent bad review. I just had to write something. I have been a customer of theirs since the beggining of the summer. I am just learning how to drive at a later age (I've always lived in the city!) and started learning with my husband. I couldn't get past driving in a parking lot with him. So I decided to take classes and it has been just great. I am going for my road test soon and I feel like I made more progress than I ever had by hiring this driving school. Read Less

One of the school owners asked me who my instructors were – I mentioned the names. She said that they were not experienced enough to teach. That was John John Nicastro who assigned those inexperienced instructors to me so I could fail my test (like most of the students at this school) and take more classes with Nicastro. After my unsuccessful attempt to pass my road test I scheduled additional driving lessons with Nicastro spread out in time to my next road test. Nicastro scheduled me the classes and forgot to inform my instructor about them. After that, I had a hard time getting a hold of Nicastro. When I finally caught him – he was rude to me and accused me of being a liar. He said that I never scheduled additional classes with him. With an attitude like this – good luck running business!

Read Less
