This auto company does not even deserve a star they are highly unprofessional and even if you're on a low budget please do not go to them. They showed up late to every single one of my lessons. After I decided to stop working with them and go with another company a year later. I find out that they scheduled 3 Different Rd. test for me without my permission and it got canceled three different times costing me a grand total of $140.00 on top of me paying for my license. I am highly infuriated and I will be taking them to small claims court. I attempted to speak to the manager and all he did was yell and claim that I knew about the three different road test and I didn't show up. It's truly disgusting. Please please please do not go to these people. I am Haitian and I understand it's a Haitian let company but Haitians please do not go and give these people business because they are highly unprofessional. I passed my road test this morning. I have never been so happy about a decision in my life. I took several lessons with a previous driving school and I could never pass the road test; I just took 5 lessons with Roro and I passed. The man giving the lessons was so patient and understanding. I was getting discouraged with every time I failed a road test but he made sure I succeeded and that I received the skills necessary to not only pass the test but to be comfortable behind the wheel. My mother drove with Roro 20 years ago and I was shocked to see that even though most schools are getting shut down due to fraud, this school is still going strong. Watched a driving instructor from this company allow a student to perform four different illegal manouvers within 0.2 miles on top of cutting me off, without signalling, twice! Pros:-------1) Cheap ($30/hr as compared to other schools that charge $40/hr)2) Flexible, they manage to give you appointments in the next 10 days. Some other driving schools tend to be booked up for weeks.3) They have 3 instructors and you can get any of them - so you get people with different teaching styles. I got Tarzan for 4 of the 5 classes I took with them - highly recommend him. He is knowledgeable, points out your mistakes and makes you practice.  I had Gutenberg for one of the classes, he was very hands-off and kept talking on his cellphone the entire time so I felt that lesson wasn't so useful.Cons:--------1) HORRIBLE customer service. When you call them to schedule an appointment, they say they will call you back and then they don't for hours or even days. So you have to call them several times until they commit to an appointment. 2) THEY RE-SCHEDULE OFTEN They make mistakes in the appointments and they can reschedule you at the last minute. For one of my lessons, they said it was at 4pm. I called them again to confirm the time and they confirmed it was 4 pm. Then they called me at 1.30pm saying that I had not showed up for my 1 pm lesson. Since they have this policy of 24-hr notice for cancellation, they said I would have to pay for the lesson I supposedly missed. When I argued and said that I had been told twice it was 4pm, they backed off and rescheduled me for another day. 3) NO REFUNDS - They don't give you refunds - make sure you have exact change if you are paying cash, good luck getting anything back from them.4) You have to go to their office at 480 Mass Ave for your lessons. They don't pick you up from your place but they can drop you off there.5) Mandatory extra lesson for road test - one of my friends took the road test with A Roro, they said she would have to pay extra for a special lesson before her road test (which really just involved her driving from the auto school to her test location) and this charge was IN ADDITION to the $70 or $90 they charged for her road test. Listen if you decide to go with A-RoRo auto school you will regret every moment of it, I promise you that. I am currently taking driving lessons and ""GOD HELP ME!"", I call EVERYDAY to ask ""whens my next driving lesson?"", and it happens to be the same response every time "" I will call you back!"". The so called secretary doesn't know what she is doing, when it comes to plugging someone in she overbooks & she has that attitude that makes you want to knock the living daylight out of someone. The people that gave possitive feedback work there so they dont count. They just want to give themselves great ratings. When she overbooks, someone will most likely be disappointed and be left at home just waiting. When you call she will not explain why you didn't get your lesson the answer will be ""I am rescheduling you."" The lessons aren't lessons at all. The driving instructor has me driving from My house to His Office EVERY SINGLE TIME, and he will run to his office and stay there for a period of time and still count that as you learning even though you just remained in the car for 15 minutes. for the last 2 minutes he might teach you how to park. & if you pass the time you were schedule he wont offer to drive so you can keep your hours he will keep adding the minutes and ADD extra because he is sneaky enough too. The driving instrucor was very diligent. The rudes are the receptionist and the person who oversees the schedule and everything. They scheduled for me and I finished my lesson. After a day This guy called me and told me I have my test scheduled for thursday. I was ready and I asked half a day off from work for thursday. The guy then called me and told me to be get ready for friday, that is the day after. I can't take two consecutive mornings off from work. He lied saying that he told me it was scheduled for friday and not thursday. Thus they made me waste a 20 dollar cancellation fee. Besides he declined to give the ten dollar which he owed to me as he did not have a change while I was paying. They are such a liar, smart wannabes and a miser. Imagine a 10 dollar. Read Less

I have been learning to drive while working 6 days per week. The A-Roro staff were very helpful about accomodating my schedule, including having weekend, early morning, and evening classes. They were also flexible about scheduling classes without too much advanced notice, as my work schedule is frequently subject to change. In addition, my instructor is fabulous--personable but strict, calm, and with high expectations. He's also very prompt and he takes his job seriously. I've had only two mishaps: one in which a lesson was cancelled with just 24-hours notice and another in which we miscommunicated the time of a lesson. They were very pleasant, however, and quickly rescheduled me for other times. I'm sure that there are many good schools, but I'm very happy with my experience with A-roro. Read Less

I passed my road test today!!! The people at A-Roro were kind, courteous and patient. I was a very nervous beginner and they took the time to teach me at my speed. They taught me all the key points about driving which resulted in passing my road test the very FIRST time! The cost of the lessons were reasonable and definitely worth the outcome. My first lesson is the next tuesday. So I go to my lesson, again I'm on my lunch break. GUESS WHAT..... I walk in on time!!! The secretary says to me, ""I'm sorry there is a problem, the driver will not be able to meet you today."" I'm fumming at this point and ask for a refund. I don't have time to futz arround this is my time and my money. I gave them two chances to many! So I'm supossed to be getting a check back today at 5:30pm.
