I had a very bad experience with these people, the road test was canceled at the last minute by the school and of course I lost the money. I called them and it was Sonia herself on the phone, she was so disrespectful and rude.very bad customer service. I don't recommend this school to any body. Read Less

Wow Great school , I passed my test here last year Aug 1, 2016, and wanted to comment here if anyone is looking for a driving school. First time going for my road test and I passed without taking any classes. Was a little nervous about everything being in different places but overall everything was taken care of and I got it done. The price was a little high but the car was supplied which turned out great. Thank you. Read Less

Took my drivers road test today. Arrived to a very unorganized, but polite, staff. The building it is in is very cramped with barely enough seating. Old run down uncomfortable and small seating with nothing but four walls to look at. I did not take driving lessons from them first as I felt as if I did not need them. Fast forward to the actual test... I began to adjust the mirrors and the instructor told me to not bother because I did not need them. I am a tall fellow and could not see properly out of any of them. He was rude to me during the exam, and had no interest in being there stating that he would rather be in New York.Read Less

Horrible place to do business with. They waited 4 months to schedule my road test and after it was scheduled they kept rescheduling. The excuse was that I there was something wrong with my paperwork, but they couldn't tell me what, so I could fix it. Called the office millions of times and they would rush me and tell me that they would call back, but never did. I had to call back. The person I spoke on the phone was very rude and she has no clue of what she was doing. People if you don't want to waist your money, don't go to this place. Horrible place to book a road test with or even make business with!!! Called to book for a road test on the month of July and it has been getting cancelled or moved with the excuse that I didn't fit on the list ?!?!  Go bull someone else! Clearly Sonia's is not a professional business. I'll tell you what, if you really want a good driving school with a professional environment that takes your business serious then call Lomba's which is right down the street from Sonia's. Terrible service. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Cancelled my road test 3 times without telling me and had me wait over three months. I would've waited longer if I never booked a road test with another school. Very unprofessional service, with young and inexperienced people answering the phone. You get what you pay for. Sonia herself the all the employees are nice and definitely will helping you, but the class in a old living room remodeled to fit a class. The test are and material are made simpler for anyone to understand. I would definitely recommend it to any who wants to go to a driving school that's cheap and convenient.Read Less

My review will be similar to Scott G.'s but I want to write a more recent favorable review.  I was apprehensive because of the recent one star reviews and comments, but had also seen similar reviews of other schools nearby. I had called into the office a few times and seen all the folks taking driver's ed classes, compared it to the number of negative reviews and figured the old saying that people only share negative experiences to be true, so I took a gamble. I only needed to pass the road test as I just had to convert a UK license. I took two road lessons before my test.  Both times the school called me on the day to remind me. The instructors were on time, polite and spoke English well (some reviewers commented on thick accents, but I didn't find that with my two instructors).  I was shown the test route and told what to expect on the test. Both cars were clean and in good mechanical order.On the week of the test the school called to confirm my time of 8:30am. Unfortunately things went downhill here.  I went at 8:15 to find a whole bunch of folks also waiting. I was given a ticket with a number of my position in line.  There were 24 people ahead of me (although I did hear that the previous week's test was cancelled and scheduled for this week, so maybe there were double the usual amount of students).  I had read previous reviews saying somebody had to wait 4 hours for their test on the day, so I did kind of expect to wait around, but it would have been better if the school had told me what to expect on the day.  Luckily I hadn't made plans for 9am or else I would not have been so receptive.So a positive experience: good instructors, clean cars, competent office staff.  Plus the price of $35 a lesson is one of the cheapest around.  What more can a person ask for? WORST DRIVING SCHOOL EVER COMPLETLY TRASH. The people are rude and unperfessional. They cancel your driving lessons with out telling you so you will go to meet them someone and they will leave you there and they won't answer the phone. They mess up people's paper work 24/7. They will tell you one thing and do the complete opposite. They CANCEL ROAD TEST with out telling you !!! Made me wait an extra 2 months from the original day I was suppose to take it. This is the WORST driving school. I would never recommend it. They cancel driving lessons without any notification. The employees are very unprofessional. They never answer the phone for questions. They accommodate Only Spanish speaking individuals during the parents class. You may think you are saving a few dollars but trust me - you will pay in the end!! Absolutely unprofessional. I agree with all of the poor reviews. Save your money and go somewhere else. The communication between their staff is HORRIBLE and nonexistent.First off, I was not prepared for the road test my first time, I had a rude and impatient instructor, I was asked to confirm a road test FOUR days before it took place and was forced to either pay a $70 cancellation fee or keep the $120 road test. Their policy states that if you cancel before two weeks, you're exempt of the cancellation fee. This was not the case with me.After I recently passed the test, I went to RMV hoping to pay for my test when I was told that I had to pay a no show fee for an August road test that I cancelled way in advance.The only reason I'm giving them one star is because I finally passed my road test, but if the option of zero stars were present, I'd totally choose it.I will let everyone I know how unprofessional my experience was and hope they will be smart enough to choose a different driving school. Hello all looking to participate in a driving course. My name is Teresa. And I hope Stephanie and Sonia remember me. I was justing having late night thoughts about my car and my license and I remember what I had to do to get to that point. The car was easy just purchase the car and fill out paper work but the driving course SUCKED. I went to sonias because it was the cheapest school I can find. I lived in 1hr by MBTA transit away from the school but still came. Anyways the classroom hours is essentially reading the driving permit book aloud. We can all do tht at home !! And 7/10 of the class ALREADY had their permits ! That part wasn't the bad part. It was the fact it took me a MONTH after the classroom hrs were over to actually start driving lessons. And once I completed that it took me legit another MONTH for my road test. But wait, theres more. I was assigned august 8th and by august 6th I did not get a call confirming my road test so I called. And i was told I wasnt on the list !! After waiting a whole damn month. I tried to explain to stephanie that I really needed to take my test in August 8th because I was going off to college out of state that same weekend. She didnt care much, all she said was shes sorry and cant do much. So I called the dmv to see if anything was possible for me to be squeezed in and they told me that "SONIAS DRIVING SCHOOL STILL HAD A FEW MORE AVAILABLE SPOTS  FOR AUGUST 8th" !!!! After stephanie told me it was the dmvs fault and there was no more space. Mind you, shes the one who assigned me august 8th to begin with! Long story short this isnt a good school for driving because they play with your time which is essentially playing with your money. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL AT ALLL! And trust my advice, once again this is an updated notice from 2015! Btw I started the classroom course hours in May and was "assigned" aug 8th for my road test. Is a Joke have been driving for 30 years clean driving record no accidents nothing took a road test if you want to call it that and failed was on a back road with no live traffic 2 instructors in the car and 1 student driver from the school was a complete joke from the start the price of the road test was $120!! I'm still in shock. The student driver took the test and was told 3 times to ease off the accelerator ( gas pedal) but she was a student from the driving school an...d passed !! It was a joke they called the student by name Allie she was so nervous I felt sorry for her but, she passd she would never ever be able to drive on the expressway on in live traffic at this point but she passed!!!! Sonias driving school has got to be one of the worst driving schools out there. my daughter was so excited to get her liscence, and take her road test . submitted her paperwork at the right time ( 2 weeks in advance which is suggested ) april 14th it is now may 20th and her road test was booked for june 7th, mind you a few girls she knows that took the same class with her submitted their paperwork weeks after my daughter and got their roadt test in 1 WEEK! either the staff is lazy or they cleary dont know what theyre doing !!!!!!! or have favorites ? idk ???? and when i called them i was extremely upset all the girl on the phone could tell me was "all i have is june 7th available" no sorry no nothing . these people ARE NOT PROFESSIONALS !!! If I could I would rate this school less than one star. As the first review says "DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY". My experience was horrible. First of all I had a appointment for my driving test at 9:00 am. I thought I was late because I got there at 9:05 am, and I ended up having my driving test at 12:00. Which is ridiculous, I mean three hours later? Don't let these people play with your time. The guy who sat next to me while I was taking the test was totally rude, and mean. Actually I think he was kind of racist. The test is a joke; they take you to a shady-sneaky road. There is not even Stop signs. The racist-mean-rude guy tells you to do while he says the mistakes you are doing, so you don't really know what to do.  This happened to me and two more guys that were taking the test same day as me. That guy didn't even let me finish the test. I've been driving for ten years now and that guy told me that I don't know how to drive. Are you serious man? So unprofessional and rude on the phone. I made an appointment and no one showed up. I had to call multiple times before someone answered the phone and when they finally did they blamed me for not picking up my phone that's why they never showed up....they never called my phone. I went to Sonia's because of it's proximity to my house. I had heard and read some reviews that weren't very good and I was apprehensive. BUT... What a great experience. I had great instructors, especially John. So good. Gave me the confidence I needed. And such a nice guy. The office staff was great too. Called to confirm appointments, and they were always so nice. I would recommend Sonia's. I passed the driving test easily. The examiner was impressed with my ability. Thanks Sonia's!! Read Less

This is the worst driving school. Please save your money and spare yourself the hassle. The business is literally run by children. The receptionist couldn't of been any older that 16. The driver instructors accents are so thick you can barely understand what they are saying. The school cancelled my lessons unannounced and they changed the instructor on me several times when I specifically asked for the same instructor. They are highly unprofessional and disorganized. This school is VERY unprofessional. First of all, they have cancelled at LEAST 7 of my road lessons with only a 10 minute notice. I would get up early and get ready, only to recieve NO PHONE CALL. I call the school everyday to see if I'm driving. Then, come observational time, we pick up a student, and I move to the back seat and from there on out they talk in 100% spanish. How am I supposed to learn if they talk in a language I don't understand?? Read Less
